Chiang's Mai "Best stay for your money"”

Formerly living in northern Thailand, I have traveled to Chiang Mai on numerous occasions and have stayed in Chiang Mai's various hotels and guesthouses. The IMM Thaphae by far tops my list of the "best buy for your buck" because it provides a comfortable, clean and luxurious stay for quite a reasonable price! Benefits include the centralized location steps from Thaphae Gate and the location for the Sunday walking street, not to mention the delicious restaurants in the surrounding area. The staff is always accomodating and the breakfast buffet can be enjoyed by farangs or Thais of the like. On your next trip to Chiang Mai, choose the IMM Thapae and I guarantee you won't leave disappointed!

Great location - most of the city's attractions are within a 1 km radius from the hotel; definitely within walking distance of all the attractions within the old city, the night market and the river. The hotel is facing the main road in front of the Thaphae Gate (a rather happening place... there was a didgeridoo band playing cool jazzy tunes there one night!) yet our room was nice and quiet throughout our 4-night stay. The room was clean and comfortable too. I was very glad for the elevator, bottled water, in-room safe, fridge and bedroom slippers that were provided. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. A word of warning though - the bathroom door is just frosted glass and little is left to the imagination when you are using the toilet. This was initially a tad uncomfortable for my 22-year-old son and me, his 53-year-old mum. All things considered, Imm Thaphae is great value for money, and it would be my first choice for my next visit to Chiang Mai.

Good location, clean room but my room was noisy!”

My stay at the Imm Thaphae Chiang Mai hotel was generally good. The hotel is situated next to a prominent landmark - the thapae gate of the old city so it's easy to find it. The night bazaar and chiang mai international airport are also relatively close; 20-30 mins walking distance to the night bazaar with shops along the route and about 10km from the airport. However, my room was next to a club/disco and I can hear the thumping of the speakers daily till 0000. Avoid rooms 324 and adjacent rooms (I stayed there)

Excellent location for bare bones hotel”

This hotel was amazing for the very, very cheap price. I stayed only one night and then went to a boutique hotel for more than double the price. I actually like Imm Hotel better. While the hotel is very are bones, it is clean, has a nice hot shower and is in an exceptional location. It is a very busy place. There were loads of teen tours going through the lobby. I didn't noontime noise at night though. I could hear a bit of bass from a nearby bar, and it ended quite quickly. The hotel staff are kind and held our luggagenntil,our room was available and clean. The breakfast was great for a 'grab n' go" style. There is cereal, salad, eggs, meat, jok, fruit, juice, coffee, tea, toast, croissants and more. The location is Tha Phae Gate, which is great for everything.

Great location and excellent value!”

I stayed at this hotel for a total of 10 days and I had a very good experience. The hotel is located centrally, across from the Tha Phae Gate, close to restaurants, the night market, and the sunday market. The rooms are modern, spacious, and clean. The breakfast is decent offering: salad, fresh fruit, cereal, pastries, fried and boiled eggs, soup, rice/noodles, sausages, coffee, tea, milk, and juice. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful giving advice. There is also a spa and travel agent located in the hotel for your convenience. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Chiang Mai and it is an excellent value for the money at only night.

Good budget hotel in an excellent location”

Stayed at the Imm Thaphae hotel for a few nights during my first visit to Chiang Mai. It's in a great location right across from Thaphae Gate. The Sunday walking street is right outside the hotel and it's about a 12 minute walk in the other direction to get to the night bazaar. Tuk tuks are always waiting outside the hotel if you want to go to the airport/bus station/train station/tiger kingdom etc. The hotel does not seem to have an elevator. Although it is only four floors it may be inconvenient for some travelers. The breakfast was decent although selection is limited but for the price I paid on Agoda I have no complaints.

Relaxing”

Frequent guests of Imm Hotel Bangkok, but first time at Imm Hotel Thaphae, and it out grows my estimations. The location is good, in front of the Thaphae Gate, with restaurants, pharmacies and convenience stores around. The girl at the Travel & Taxi counter was extremely helpful. There is a laundrynette just beside the lane of the hotel, 30 baht/kg. Songtaew (red mini-buses) are quite accessible, we got around town with these the whole trip. The fare is basically 20 baht/trip. We even traveled to the airport with it (around 15-20 minutes), 100 baht for a group of six. In addition, if you are a Chinese from Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan etc, please state your nationality at every possible chance to differentiate you from the Mainland Chinese. The mainland chinese doesn't have a good reputation among the folks of Chiang Mai.

great location, clean room”

I enjoy my staying here in IMM. First of all, the hotel is located just opposit Thaphae Gate, the place surrounded by restaurants and shops. It is not far to reach the river side on foot. And of course, it is a few steps away from Sunday walking street. Second, the room is spacious and clean. The breakfast is simple but you can definitely have your stomach filled. The service is good. I will choose to stay here again if I return back to Chiang Mai.

Great Location ”

Imm Thaphae Chiang Mai Hotel is situated in a great location and this hotel allows most travelers access to the nightlife, shopping area, great restuarant downtown and a quick hop, step and jump to the mountains.

Well location, price/performance ok”

nice location, direct next to the centere of chiang mai and short walk(<5min) to good bars and 10 min to the nightmarket. the hotel entrance is on the right side of the main picture, and its realy quiet place. the building complex is not at the main street!only the entrance-->so its realy quiet for the location visit you again imm thaphae

lovely hotel and service with a smile”

this hotel, imm thaphae chiang mai provides everything you need from confortable rooms to simple but nice breakfast. the people are helpful and smile wherever you are in the hotel premise. the room service also excellent even though i forgot to place the "tidy room" label but they also clean our rooms without fail. the room that i stayed if compared to my friens's one is slightly small. however, i am satisfied with the room's facilities. it's location very near to the old city + sunday market. only walking distance and very convenient to few restaurants that are highly recommended (local food) + of course mcdonald that is beside the hotel too. i will come to stay again due to its strategy location and warmest greeting that i received.

Thaphae Chiang Mai Hotel”

I like this hotel because it is in the city and it is very convenient for traveling. There are many kind of transportations, you can go by Taxi, Tuk tuk (Local 3 wheels taxi) which park in front of the hotel and Rot Song Thaew (another kind of service car in Chiang Mai) which you can ask them go around the city. Moreover, there is Mc Donald in front of the hotel which is located on the first floor, also there is Starbucks next to this hotel. The Imm Thaphae Hotel is located across from Thaphae Walking Street which is very famous Sunday Market. If I go to Chiang Mai next time, I will stay at this hotel again because I got very good deal for the room. Thanks Agoda!

Excellent location & friendly stuff”

First of all, I must praise the female supervisor (different uniform with other ordinary receptionist) at the reception counter for her kind assistance. We arrived at Imm Hotel in the morning on 2017 Dec 25 and she is kind and patient to advise us on transport to Ching Rai and even help us to book Green Bus tickets via telephone. Kudos to her! Hotel is located opposite the famous Tha Phae Gate which is almost the center of everything. Extremely easy to find it & to catch a duk duk/cab/Grab car outside the hotel. Night bazaar is not too far and within walking distance. McDonald's is just steps away and 7-11 is within 300 meters. Hotel is not fancy but room are good enough and clean.

pay less but get more”

when i fly to Chiang Mai, everytime before make the hotel booking i will search Imm hotel Thaphae first. Coz it's very convenience for budget travellers. Not expensive and get more benifit. if u hungry, u can get something to eat @ Macdonal or if u prefer to go to anywhere , u can take TUK TUK or red bus in front of the hotel. i'm really love it.

Great Location”

Imm Thaphae has a favourable location. Located just opposite the Thaphae gate, you can access different parts of the city from here easily especially if you know how to ride a bike. Bike rental shops are available along the street on the left of the hotel. You won't go hundry late at night as there a fastfood chain located just outside the hotel. Stayed here during the Loykrathong festival and the parade and bazaar is just right infront of the hotel. Breakfast is simple. Will definitely choose this hotel again.

IMM Hotel Chaing Mai”

We found our stay at the IMM to be most enjoyable, the staff at the hotel are friendly and speak good English. The hotel has a very good car park and the hotel is close to the main nightlife and many restaurants. The rooms are clean and bright in the typical modern style with very good bathroom facilities and aircon, the only thing we would have liked was a fridge in the room this is a small grip but they give you free water in your room. The breakfast described as "grab and go" we found to be adequate but a little more imagination could have been used. Overall this is a great hotel with very friendly staff in a very good location and for the price you would be hard pressed to find better in Chiang Mai.

The location is great. Near old town and plenty of eateries nearby too. Staff are friendly and helpful. This is my 2nd stay in Imm Thaphae Chiang Mai Hotel and will certainly be back whenever I am visiting Chiangmai.

A hotel which listens to customers”

this is my second time to stay in imm. i stayed here for 6 days this january. i love the great location and the clean room. that is why i chose to stay here again, especially when i traveled with my kids this time. the spacious and clean room allowed my kids to play around comfortably and happily. and what impressed me most is that they do listen to customers. why? when i stayed there this january, i couldn't get any hair dryer during my 6-day staying. i asked for one every morning and every evening, but the answer was "sorry" even though they promised to keep one for me. that actually irrated me a lot. so, when i came back from that trip, i wrote a review on the tripadvisor. they replied several days later that they would equip the hotel with more hair dryers. and this time when i checked in and asked for one hair dryer, they did provide me one without any hesitation and waiting. that is really nice and that is why i said they did listen to customers. in a word, if i have the third chance to visit chiang mia, if i would like to choose to stay in hotels, imm will still be one of my best choices.

Imm Thaphae Gate”

I stayed at the Imm Thaphae Gate for almost 2 weeks. It is convenient to Old Chiangmai as it is right across the street from Thaphae Gate. Sunday night market is right out the front door. You can get closer to Thai people by staying in a guest house for less money, but for modern conveniences, this hotel is great. Breakfast is ok, best part is the fresh fruit every morning. On days after long walks and days that I had to take my luggage with me, I missed the elevator. The place is clean and I loved having free wifi.

Will come back again”

Comfortable and large room, centrally located, near to the Tha Pae Gate and Sunday night market. If you buy many things, you can get back to hotel, put down your things, and go shopping again! Many cafe and restaurant outside of the hotel, especailly the Mcdonald. If we go to Chiang Mai again, we certainly will stay at Imm again.
