I stayed one night at Jo Hotel in the JBCC area, and honestly, it turned out better than I expected. The location is pretty convenient — once you exit the main entrance of Komtar JBCC, the hotel sits all the way to the extreme right. It’s about a 400–500 meter walk, so still manageable even with a small bag. The hotel has 24 floors, and I was given a room on Level 20. The view from the big windows was surprisingly nice — I could see Plaza Pelangi and the Crystal Crown Hotel in the distance. What caught me off guard was how new and fresh the room looked, especially considering the hotel’s exterior looks a bit run down. Inside, it definitely feels like it has been renovated recently. The bed was genuinely comfortable, and I appreciated that the bedsheets were dry and clean — something I can’t always say about smaller Johor hotels where I’ve experienced damp bedding before. The room itself was spacious for the price I paid, and it even came with a small fridge, plus the standard basic toiletries. One thing to note: my room faced the highway, so there was traffic noise through the night. It wasn’t loud enough to disturb my sleep badly, but light sleepers might want to keep this in mind.
