Quiet, serene, scenic, but limited service options”

I am somewhat hesitant to quibble over the problems with the service because I really did enjoy my stay at the Boathouse Paradise Resort. It was a very beautiful place, right on the reservoir/lake. It was very quiet, peaceful. The swimming pool is large and clean and well designed. The rooms are intricately designed so that you feel like you are in a cabin on a large boat - all wood with well crafted carpentry. The shape of the rooms is even remniscent of a boat. However, the regular rooms were somewhat dark - it is such a beautiful place, with gorgeous and manicured gardens, that larger windows would have been appreciated. However, you could walk around or sit on the porch to appreciate them. The service...well, 'mai dai' = cannot; very inexperienced, unlike the service of many other hotels or resorts I have visited in Thailand. They are very nice, just not very experienced. They speak very little, if any, English, so if you do not speak a little Thai, you may have difficulty getting anything out of the customary service. The food was good, although the wait was a bit long, but not as long as another review suggests. I eat mostly Thai, and so did my associate, and we were both pleased with the flavor, amount, and options. They even let us have a mix of American and Thai breakfast - however, my Thai friend had to do the ordering - my Thai is okay, but not good enough for 'un-customary' requests. One afternoon we were ready to go out kayaking with their kayaks that are right there on the shore - but all the paddles had been taken away by some worker - they were returned by 5 PM but that seemed a bit naive. There was a another group there that was unable to kayak that afternoon as well, then they saw us out on the lake, but the staff did not tell them that the paddles had returned...again, I think the staff just needs much better training - they are well intentioned but very inexperienced and not attentive. But they are very nice, not dismissive

Overnight stay at the Boathouse”

An enjoyable overnight stay. The Boathouse got our business as it was the only Hotel near to Kaeng Krachan National Park using Agoda. Well signposted & still easily found even though arriving at dusk. Patron friendly & spoke a lot more English than most places we've stayed in Thaiand ! Nice evening meal served with no questions asked even though we noticed later than normally we were after their normal serving hours (c.8pm)

A very relaxing stay, friendly staff and nice area”

The stay was great. The food was good and the service was quick, the food was a unique style to Kaengkrachan was good to have the same dish with a very different taste. The hotel setting is great, the swimming pool is nice and the rooms are good with a unique style. The local area was good and reflected the peacefulness of the area. (it does help if you have your own means of transport, car bike, cycle. Overall we had a great stay for couple of days over the Songkran period.

Great location, very relaxing, beautiful views”

very difficult to find, the map for the hotel site does not show exactly where the hotel is. you have to ask for the boathouse when enquiring at the visitor centre, eventually someone showed us where it was by taking us there on their moped!but worth the struggle to find it. fabulous views over the kaeng krachan lake great swimming pool, and friendly dogs. good bird life around too, and close to the national park entrance. we saw elephant droppings on the road, close to the first waterholes. so they had obviously been there earlier in the morning. muntjac deer and fallow deer were at the water holes, as we're the butterflies licking the salts., you need a 4 wheel drive however to see the park properly, and get up early in the morning.

Peaceful, close to nature, fun boat-themed rooms”

Our stay was nice and peaceful. The rooms are in boats built over ponds which gives a nice feeling as you look out over the lake. The restaurant food was average. The staff are friendly and helpful, but not all of them have good English skills so a little Thai would be helpful. The location, which, according to the map is right within the Kaeng Krachan National Park is perfect, and it is directly on the dam with views from most rooms. however, the road leading to the hotel has many houses and restaurants and does not feel like its actually part of the park. This is not a problem as everything is quite nearby. I would definitely consider staying here again.

Great staff, nice rooms”

A pleasant hotel with staff that were very helpful and organized plenty of things for us. Rooms were comfortable and clean but some of the public areas could use a bit of a clean but then this is a recurring theme with locally run hotels, Food was pretty decent and it was great for the kids; this alone will make me come back next time I am in Kaeng Krachan.

lovely lakeside escape”

the boathouse rooms were lovely and the location was paradise. Quiet and serene. However, staff spoke very little English. I was lucky the owner was there who spoke English well. Just a bit difficult to get to but other than that, I would definitely go there again.

Lovely rooms in pretty, well-maintained grounds”

The boathouse resort comprises a number of pretty wooden 'boats' (actually boat shaped wooden structures supported in small lakes by concrete plinths. Each boat has 4 AC rooms with views of the lake, pool and garden. The small lakes / ponds each have friendly fish that rush over to great you (hoping for food) each time you enter or leave your room. the grounds are very pretty and well maintained and contain various fruit trees, ensuring the freshest coconut drinks! The restaurant has indoor and outdoor dining overlooking the picturesque lake and the mountains beyond and kayaks are available for ths use of guests. Lovely setting, attractive rooms, friendly staff.

A lovely boutique weekend”

We normally seek a nice place for our weekends from Agoda. And this place didn't disappoint us. Even though it's located remotely and away from the high way, it's located just by the lake over Kaeng Krachan dam, with peaceful atmosphere, with boutique boat-house style, and Thai crusine is good.

Beautiful setting and very unique rooms”

The resort is very beautiful. A little rough around the edges but very Thai and surrounded by nature, the view of the lake is stunning and the pool is lovely. Perfect for kids with 2 smaller baby pools too. The boat rooms were by quirky and unique and the fish ponds around the resort proved to be a big hit with our daughter. The restaurant, also in a large boathouse served good Thai food at a reasonable price. The staff at the resort were helpful and pleasant...

great stay in a unique property”

We had a very nice time there and the staff worked hard to communicate with us. We did two excursions, to Kaeng Krachen Park (hike through the jungle) and river rafting. Visitors are really stuck there if they don't have a car, though they do have loaner bikes and kayaks. They were very helpful about picking us up and transporting us on our way. The pool is beautiful and the grounds full of orchids and other flowering plants. The rooms are done like boat cabins, with lots of wood and even a porthole!

Beautiful Boathouse”

Stunning location, the nearby national park is a must even if you only get up to the base camp to see the birds and butterflies. Go to the bridge over the petchaburi river and any of the places there will organise a dinghy ride down the river for about 400 baht. Also visit the dam view point, a local Thai will talk you into a longboat ride on the lake, well worth the 200 baht per person we paid to see the swimming monkeys. All in all a fantastic stay the boathouses are unique and very comfortable and the staff happy and attentive.

Affirmatively there is no way to do the same mistake and stay again in this hotel which it"s prices are extremely high compared to it"s low quality services.There was an excellent view of KAENG KRACHAN but surely i can have similar few kilometers away from the so called boathouse paradise resort...

Nice location in the middle of the mountains”

We choose this hotel for a long weekend away from town, because of it's location in the Kaengkrachan Nature Park. The location is really great, and the view over the lake and the mountains is stunning. However, the room was not so clean, e.g. we found a cotton swap in a coffee cup. The pool sure looks really nice, but when we hopped in the water was quite dirty, so we didn't go in again. And we were not lucky for the timing, as the for 2 days a really noisy travel group was at the hotel, having fun at karaoke until late at night. The staff doesn't speak English really well, but they were really nice and we managed to communicate with them with the help of hands and feet and google translate. The food was ok, but without a car there is no way to go somewhere else to eat anyway. Overall this is a nice place for a relaxing weekend and as a base for hikes in the forest, but a little too overpriced considering the cleanness.

Boathouse resort”

This is in a beautiful setting on the shore of lake kaeng krachan, there is so much to do in the area, caves, waterfalls, and river rafting. A great place to spend a few days. The accommodation was very comfortable and we liked the traditional thai decor. On arrival the rooms were quite dusty and not very clean, however the staff were great and quickly put it right. The pool is great for families and is nice and big. We enjoyed our three nights here.

Surrounded by beautiful nature”

We had a weekend trip at Boathouse. Our target was to get rid of noisy city and to breathe fresh air. We really made it! Views are stunning! If you are looking for peace and relaxation and if you like to see fireflies at night, choose this one! This place is very good base if you want to go around National Park, but you also want resort style instead of sleeping in a tent.

Excellent Location Friendly Staff”

The unique design of the rooms of this resort are a delightful change.Looking at the boats resting in the water,makes a very welcome site compared to the normal concrete structure.The room sizes are excellent,and very good amenities in the rooms. Excellent food and good service by staff. Views are great and would suggest visitor's take the boat trip from the hotel across the lake to visit the Temple. Only one suggestion, better signage at the turn off into the resort. But everything else great.

Very unique and beautiful setting”

A stunningly beautiful place to visit for everyone. The resort had amazing views across the reservoir and well-kept gardens surrounding a very modern, large and clean infinity pool. We were upgraded to the honeymoon suite for free because the original room was high up and we could hear the noisy family in the room underneath. The suite was very unique - large circular bathtub, huge bed, stylish furnishings and our own koi carp fish pond outside the boathouse. Transport would help to see more of the park, although there are enough walks and points of interest near the resort.

Scenic and secluded”

The hotel is "far from civilisation" but offers spectacular view of the lake and the mountain.The boathouse idea was charming. The room is nicely decorated but dusty in some corner. You definitely need a car and should have everything you need before getting there.

Quite place more than other river side hotel ”

Kaengkrachan dam view might not suitable for people who looking for river view and other activities such as rafting or ATV driving. The place is peaceful. There is chlorine swimming pool.
