Bodhi Serene Chiang Mai Hotel (SHA Extra Plus)
Old City,Chiang Mai - View on map
"I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone I know that is planning on staying in Chiang Mai! The staff goes above and beyond excellent customer service. We especially appreciated Kao as our server every morning, afternoon, and evening he would greet us with the biggest smile. I had needed feminine products and could not find them anywhere, and Kao went out of his way to go to the store and get them for me. He didn't have to do that, but he did & any female knows that's going out of his way! Our rooms were always well kept, and is beyond spacious. The services they provide are done in excellence at all times. The grounds are serene, as the name describes the place. The only thing that I could say that needs improvement would be the water pressure in the large jacuzzi tub needs to be fixed. We couldn't use it because it would've taken hours to fill it up. Other than that I would stay here over and over again when I am in Chiang Mai on my next travels. Thank you so much to all of the staff at Bodhi Serene Hotel in Chiang Mai."

Parasol Inn Chiang Mai Old City Hotel (SHA Extra plus)
Old City,Chiang Mai - View on map
"the parasol inn is perfect. the day after we checked in we extended our stay an additional week. it's that good. it's situated in the old city (within the ancient moats, gates and walls), so darn near everything you would like to see/buy/eat in chiang mai is within walking distance. ancient parasol rooms overlook the grounds of wat chedi luang and wat pan tao, including the fountain behind pan tao and the pagoda behind chedi luang, giving you one of the best views you could ask for in chiang mai. the rooms themselves are very clean and are decorated nicely in a "lanna style". hey, who wants a room that looks like it came out of an ikea catalog when you're in thailand? the staff were top notch. they helped us arrange our tours (check out something different tours), and re-arrange them when we needed to change the dates. when i hurt my arm (i'm just clumsy) ning was genuinely concerned for me. when we had questions, they had answers. how much should we pay for a ride to the airport? are there any late night pizza places and how do we get there? on top of that, breakfast is included. continental (toast, drinks, fruit), american (eggs, bacon/ham/sausage, toast, drinks and fruit), or asian (boiled rice with chicken/pork/beef). Eastin Tan Hotel Chiang Mai (SHA Extra Plus)
Nimmanhemin,Chiang Mai - View on map
"One of the best hotel in Chiang Mai. Beautiful suite and very clever layout. During my stay I hardly want to leave the room because it was so comfortable and the view of the mountain was amazing. The downside of facing the mountain is that it also directly faces the flight path of planes taking off from the nearby airport. The suite was so well designed that we could hardly hear the sound of plane from the bedroom."

Rachamankha Hotel (SHA Plus+)
Old City,Chiang Mai - View on map
"Although I travel a lot, the Rachamankha is easily the best hotel I have stayed at in Thailand, and perhaps anywhere. I lived in Thailand for over a year so am familiar with Thai service and food, but the Rachamankha topped any experience yet. The owner is apparently a Thai architect who has restored the building carefully, and who uses the hotel and the gallery to house part of his collection of Nothern Thai antiques. The care and attention is clear in the details throughout the cloistered courtyards and in each room. As an aside, the hotel is very well situated next to Wat Phra Singh and inside Chiang Mai's old town. The food at the restaurant is excellent - the Pad Thai is a contradication, being a peasant dish that tastes like a Michelin starred chef prepared it. The service is excellent - attentive, but unobtrusive - and the best I have had in Thailand. Yet it very reasonably priced, compared both to restaurants in Bangkok and in Chiang Mai (approx THB 220 for a main dish). I chanced upon the Rachamankha while trying to book a decent but not too expensive hotel for a weekend in Chiang Mai for the girlfriend. Having stayed at the Rachamankha I will be back to Chiang Mai just for the hotel."

Lanna Tree Boutique Hotel
Old City,Chiang Mai - View on map
"We loved everything about our cheap stay here - gorgeous room, pool, very quiet, nice breakfast and the location is incredible! If you are staying in Chiang Mai the location is more important than ever and being in the old city is so important. Everything is right on your door step including all the main night life, shops, the Sunday night market, nice restaurants and you can walk to everything in the centre square! One of the best things were the best staff we have ever had at a hotel travelling - they went above and beyond for us in our 3 nights there from booking overnight buses, trips, telling me where to best rent a mountain bike, and were just so happy and friendly. Great place to stay!"

The Opium Chiang Mai Hotel (SHA Extra Plus)
Chang Phuak,Chiang Mai - View on map
"We had a great stay at the Opium Hotel in Chiang Mai. We booked a studio room and it was lovely, comfortable and big. The staff were all so friendly and helpful - they were one of our favourite parts! They even came to pick us up at the airport for no extra charge even though we gave them very late notice. The lobby, breakfast, rooftop and pool were very nice (though the pool was far too cold to use). The only negative is that our bathroom was a touch worn - the shower flooded a lot when you used it - but it wasn’t a major issue. It’s not in the old town, but we loved the neighbourhood and it was super easy and affordable to get around!"
