“Great stay with a minor WiFi based flaw”
The location is fantastic, providing easy access to visit surrounding areas such as Railay and even though I didn’t arrive via the airport it is only a short taxi ride away. I went on to Lanta after and it was only an hour or so away by speed boat which was very convenient. The facilities were impressive with multiple pools that made none of them feel busy at any time and if there’s too many children in one of them, you can move to the next one. I ate at the restaurant once and it was priced reasonably and the food was above average. I did not have breakfast on my stay so I can’t comment, but on the assumption that it’s in line with the other food, I assume it’s good. The bathrooms are very nice with a shower that doesn’t lose heat, which is a plus as any traveller knows in Thailand, this isn’t always the case. The room had a smart TV but the WiFi was not powerful enough to run either YouTube or Netflix and occasionally I had to come off the WiFi as nothing would load on my phone, but as someone who doesn’t really use their data a huge deal nor am I someone who can’t cope without being addled by YouTube or Netflix, I didn’t really care. However, if you are in fact someone who is obsessively scrolling short form content in algorithmic echo chambers designed to reinforce what you already think and not question anything, along with being someone who doesn’t want to spend a load of cash on data, this place maybe not for you? Or you could enjoy it for what it is with you eyes in the present and go and visit the wonderful sights this region has to offer with a convenient tour and excursion booking desk that will match the lowest price you find on get your guide. The staff were incredible and delivered our bags to our room (I don’t mind carrying them myself but I know some people aren’t this proactive), as well as a golf buggy service that takes you up the small hill that the hotel is set in to. I again didn’t use this service as, well, it’s a small hill. Overall a safe, solid choice for a comfortable stay.
