New, well designed building and room, nice staff, delicious breakfast. If you ask a Mountain wiev room, you have chance to see norther light (we have seen).
Our stay was fantastic. Cleanliness was impressive, breakfast was sooo good. Room was nice, bed was comfortable, parking convenient. But location is a bit far from some tours
We stayed at Lilja Guesthouse for two nights during our Ring Road trip, and it was a very comfortable experience. The room was super clean, cozy, and had an amazing view of the stunning snow-capped mountains. Having a private washroom was a big plus. Breakfast was included, and it was simply fantastic! The highlight was definitely the waffle with jam and whipped cream, a must-try. We even searched for something similar in Reykjavik but couldn’t find it. Overall, it was a delightful stay, and we highly recommend it!

“Beautiful place to stay”
This is our second place to stay in the countryside and we certainly loved the privacy of this location as you didn’t see people walk in front of your room to get to their suites. The doors were on the interior of the building which meant people had to walk in the hallway so it was nice to have your curtains drawn and really see the glacier and fields in front of you. It was very peaceful. There were a couple large groups that stayed in the guesthouse the same time as us and they would congregate in the hallways or the communal area and the noise insulation wasn’t very good. But by 10:30, everyone was in bed. We did hear our neighbor’s snores throughout the night. I would recommend for the place to provide two pillows for each guest. I wish we stayed a little longer and didn’t have to rush out the next morning for our ice cave tour. Breakfast was included in our booking and it was very good. This place isn’t necessarily in town and is still a 24 min drive to Hofn, which wasn’t a huge deal for us as we had our own car. If I ever return to Iceland, I would definitely consider staying here again.
