Beautiful location, landscaping, real nicely outfitted small bungalows”
We had 5 adults and 2 children and stayed in suites, which turned out to be bungaloes/cabins with AirCon. I had read some mixed reviews and I am happy to say, we REALLY LIKED our stay at Mae Sa Valley Garden Resort. The scenery is WONDERUL. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast was OK. I am spoiled by stays at Marriotts and Hiltons, and breakfast wasn't up to that level of excellence, but still, it was OK enough. The location is VERY GOOD for getting to nearby sights - Queen Sirkikit Botanical Gardens with the canopy walk, Mae Sa waterfalls, the very beautiful Mon Jam area. We rented a van for 4 days and we went to the Walking Street market in Chiang Mai, and two famous temples on mountains. We had one lunch at the hotel and the food was excellent - LOVED their kao soi (Northern Thailand specialty curry chicken soup - delicious). Also would HIGHLY recommend 3 restaurants - Sala Cafe in Mae Rim, Kao Soi Nimmon in Chiang Mai, and PongYang Andoi near the hotel.

Lovely Resort”
Beautiful resort on a hillside. Nice, simple cabin. Good place to escape to if you want peace and quiet. No TV. Staff is very nice. Gorgeous gardens, nice swimming pool. Good restaurant a short walk away. The woman who signed us in speaks excellent English.

Mixed experience”
I hesitate to say anything negative, especially during covid. The location is beautiful, grounds well kept, staff very nice. Not so good part, the entire property is a bowl shape so houses are on terraces, if you have knee problems or small kids, you won't like it. It is also not far enough from the road that you don't hear the road noise. I paid 1200 for the most basic room and there is no kettle, no fridge, just bed and fan.

Very good”
Great view and staff service support but the Water heater are poor and doesn't work. Thus, we cannot take a shower and cleaning while so cold weather. pls, adjust that point.

Good Location and Garden”
Very nice location which really gives the feeling you're in the valley. We went in the winter time, December the weather was cold and the room we booked was at the highest point in the resort, from the room you can see everything below and the temperature there was coldest compared to other part of the resorts. But what made us needs to point out is the cleanliness of the room needs much more improvement, as well as the water heater system needs better technology to make the water hot enough to take shower in the winter time. The breakfast was ok not many variety to choose from as expected. Overall we love the amazing garden the resort has to offer and location is very good.

Beautiful surrounding but rooms are mediocre. ”
We book the basic room with fan. I really suggest you book here only if you want to experience the garden and surrounding. Other than that, they don’t have a thing of offer. The breakfast was so basic and no coffee or tea in the rooms. We only got the kettle on the 2nd night after seeing it being offered to the other guest. Like really? If I don’t ask you don’t give? What if I didn’t know? Why isn’t the treatment the same for everyone. The bed sheets were full of mold every night! I think it’s because the air is so damp and high humidity. I enjoyed your surrounding and views but I do not recommend the stay to others.

A slice of heaven!”
Our stay at the Mae-Sa was so exceptional we decided to double our stay. Originally staying for 3 nights and we ended up staying for 7 nights. It was superb value for money, set high up in the mountains, it was peaceful, tranquil and the grounds were kept constantly immacculate. We arrived to be greeted by the receptionist who took us straight up to reception. We had a speedy check-in and our heavy bags were whisked away to our rooms. The lodge we stayed in, set amongst others, made from bamboo, was absoloutely gorgeous with its own veranda. It was spotlessly clean with very few bugs. We were overlooking the clean, clear water, swimming pool and had amazing views of the surrounding areas. There were so so many highlights to our stay here but the staff had to top those highlights. Great english, great advice, exceeded all of our expectations and made us feel like family, the staff even allowed us to use their computer and printer when we needed too. The wildlife in the surrounding areas was also fantastic, from beautiful butterflies, to birds of paradise and even geckos. Also there were the resident cats who also had many kittens. We would HIGHLY recommend this resort to any visiting near, or around chiang mai. The hotel wifi was great in all areasof the resort. The 45km taxi ride from the Train Station was pleasent and was a great opportunity to take in the scenery. Quite simply, nothing spoilt this trip or our stay. We would both love to return in the near future. The resort is within walking distance or a very short ride from local elephant tours, pata caves, mae sa waterfalls, tiger kingdom, monkey school and many other activities which the staff will gladly help you to arrange. A huge thankyou to the resort and its staff for our slice of heaven. We look forward to seeing you one day in the future. With love Ryan and Annie

Really nice hotel, so beautiful, lovely staff”
I wish i had just booked this the 1st day i arrived at Chiang Mai. This place was just perfect. I dont even know why anyone gives it a bad review. Just because i trusted the mixed reviews here, I ended up getting a hotel near the airport. I never realised the place could be so beautiful. The only drawback was the transport, you need to pay 500 baht for one way for any place around the strip. But this isnt just for Mae Sa Valley, we had to pay the same just to go from Four Seasons to our place. Moreover, anyone complaining about the room not having a tv and all that, please dont fall for the negative comments. Once u go there, u realise the place is meant to be like that! Perfect for couples. So romantic. The staff were more helpful than the staff we met at Four Seasons (no offence). Oh and if you are Muslim, you can find a wide range of Halal food here. Adjust a little according to the area and you will love ur stay here. P.S. Everything closes at 5 here and you need a booking for every place you want to go to.

Shot Stay at Mae Sa valley Grden Resort”
We enjoyed our short stay at Mae Sa Valley Garden Resort. The location is excellent and the views are superb. The rooms are traditional Lanna style timber buildings with lovely decorations. The resort was much bigger than I expected; over 40 rooms spread out on a hillside. Most were a long walk from the dining room along rough stone and concrete paths, with very many steps. I was surprised there was no telephone in our room and a kettle would have been welcome.

The peace that I needed”
I have to say if you are visiting Chiang Mai, Mae Sa Valley Garden Resort is where you need to stay if you are looking for a peaceful tranquil environment. If you are one of those that needs to be connected to the nearest shopping district or bars, then this place is not for you. This is the place you come to for full rest and relaxation. The beauty of this place's location just makes you feel one with the earth. It is a truly splendid location and is great for those who want to get away from it all.
