Pleasantly Surprised!”

My girlfriend and I had an unexpected travel hiccup where we were stuck on Koh Samui for a night. Well turned out... not a bad spot to be stuck! We found the Marine Chaweng Beach Resort and booked a room for that night. Arrived 30 minutes later and were greeted by their extremely friendly staff. The resort has a cool bar right at check in, our room was immaculate with ice cold A/C and was a 15 second walk from the beach. The area is great. Adventure down the beach in either direction for countless beach front bars and a few clubs (Ark Bar).

The perfect spot”

I've extended my stay... twice. Staying in a deluxe room 3 bungalows back from the beach itself. The room has good AC and is clean, bed is firm but not rock hard like so many in Thailand. Breakfast is basic but does the job, you get coffee and juice plus a choice of 5-6 set meals. The staff here are polite and helpful - this isn't a five star hotel so don't expect concierge service, but they're friendly and provide good service. The location is perfect - the sun loungers are a bit old and run down, but it's generally been quiet save the odd plane overhead which is standard for the area. 5 minutes walk down the beach and you're at Ark Bar but you can barely hear it at night from the room. To get to the reception from the main road is not great with suitcases, but that's about the only grumble I have. 10 minute walk at most to the main social hub of Chaweng Beach, so you're close enough to the crazy without really knowing it. Get an outdoor massage here - outstanding!

Great 8 days in Chaweng beach resort”

Me and my 2 friends stayed in Chaweng beach resort for 8 nights and really enjoyed our stay! Bungalows are in an awesome location just seconds from the beach and a minute to the main road with many restaurants,shops,bars.... The bungalow which we stayed in was basic with AC bathroom and everything you needed! It wasn't luxurious but we didn't spend that much time in there anyway The main thing for us was that everything was clean!! For the price we paid you can't get anything better I would definitely reccommend it and would happily stay there another time!

Good location”

Marine Banglow has a very good location and soft white beach at Chaweng beach. You can walk by barefoot in the sea to the other island. Wake up before 5 am if you wanna see the sunrise(amazing!) canyon in the sea is also a good experience.. I love this place .😎

Deluxe Room”

We weren’t expecting this resort to be as lovely as it was as it was the cheapest one we booked out of 4 during our recent holiday as we were moving around. The deluxe bungalow was lovely...great size, fantastic shower, big bed and air con worked a treat. The location couldn’t have been better and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Next time we go to Samui Marine Bungalows will be our first choice.

Exceptional”

I was happy with everything concerning the Marine Chaweng Resort BUT after ordering and leaving 3 meals I didn't go back. The Restaraurant needs a good shake up.

Perfect!”

Excellent value for money in the quiet part of Chaweng beach! Right on the beach, very clean bungalows. Comfy bed, good WiFi. Short walk to shops, restaurant and bars. Will definitely stay again when in Samui!

Great staff held back by management”

I'm a bit torn on Marine.. the front line staff are great, the location in Chaweng is great, nice beach, close to the action but off the street and quiet. The room was good (I was in one of the superior bungalows I think). That said the management has made some decisions that really keep this place from shining. 1. No Beach Towels - Really - your a beach side hotel - get beach towels 2. Wifi - really bad in a lot of areas, management was not eager to fix. A lot of their network is open and unsecured which puts their clients devices and data at risk. Really a poor setup, would have been ok 15 years ago, but not acceptable anymore. 3. Breakfast, limited options at breakfast, and no way to use the "free" breakfast credit to upgrade to the full menu items. This is a no brainer.. let clients use their "free" credit towards saving say 100 bhat off the full breakfast menu. With just a few simple tweaks this hotel would go from good to a hidden great. Hope management improves.

Good value for the price”

It's very well located in Chaweng beach near by restaurant, shops to rent bikes, massage, 7eleven and so on. The resort has a restaurant we haven't eaten there but its located on the beach its nice. The staff was nice and helpful. The room and the bathroom look quite old but the bed was good, and it was clean. Towels are provided with soap, shampoo and a mini fridge if needed, for the price its pretty good. The bangalow are very close from the beach and the beach is i think the best one. It's not noisy but close to everything. If you are looking for a simple room, not fancy, with a good location and low price this is it.

Value for money and fresh sea food every day ”

I had a wonderful stay at Marine Bungalows First thought was why the approach lane from main road (200mtrs) has not been upgraded After a few days it adds to it's peaceful location with no passing traffic I stayed in Beach front Bungalow about 3 Metres from beach and very spacious with the best washroom facilities I've seen in many years of business and holiday hotels I will definitely go back and stay longer than the 5 nights I spent there

Great location, right on the beach and kind staff”

The location is very good, near Chaweng beach, but also a quite place where enjoy the sea and the view. The saff is very kind. Just not completely satisfatied about the wi-fi and the television in the room, anyway in a place like that you'll not spend so much time in your room!

Basic bungalow in good location”

Pros: location- right on the beach and can easily walk to ark bar. On the street there are many shops and places to eat. The shower was hot and had good pressure. The beach chairs provided by the resort were a lovely addition. The staff are very nice and accommodating. Cons: the beach chairs were great however there is no regulating to make sure only hotel guests is them so you have to go really early to beat all the people that come and use them. The place is typical as in older and very basic but we slept well and enjoyed our time. There are probably better places for the same or cheaper rates.

What a wonderful place”

This is a beautiful oasis of calm amongst the crazy of Samui. The rooms while simple are incredibly good value for money. The staff were very friendly with good cheap cooked food and the on site masseuses really did a great job. What a wonderful way to spend an hour looking at the ocean while you get all your stress worked out :). My only advice would be to not stay in the fan rooms, they are cheap for a reason. Get one of the incredibly affordable aircon rooms and your stay here will be brilliant!

Exceptional”

My favorite place. Wish I was going back. Food didn't make me ill which always happens in Thailand so that's a plus. I'd like to give the location a hundred stars, right on cheweng beach! Gorgeous place to wake up. Only one problem with this hotel, and that's that there's windows above the windows that don't have curtains 🤷‍♂️ such an easy fix! I'm a bit late reviewing so hopefully they've done it now. Lovely staff, location, food and atmosphere

Was not worth the money, Chaweng is Terrible ”

I booked 7 days here before I arrived in Chaweng, big mistake, Chaweng is boring and terrible, overpriced touristy restaurants and bars. This beach resort was ok, right on the beach but it was not worth the money for the standard room with fan, can get a much better hotel in Lamai for half the price. The restaurant at the resort had an awful overpriced menu, 100 baht for a bowl of cornflakes. I would recommend you stay in Lamai, it’s cheaper there. My room did have strong WiFi and hot shower, and the staff were friendly, that’s the only good thing I can say about this place. Don’t stay in Chaweng.

Very Basic but Good Value for the Money”

The rooms are very basic - no frills here, but for the price and to be on the beach, it's wonderful. The staff is very nice, helpful and attentive. I had laundry done and it was reasonably price and done quickly. The food at the restaurant was good. The location was great. There was mold in the bathroom (on the towel rack) so I didn't know where to hang my towel, but they brought me new towels every day so it didn't matter.

Beachfront Resort”

The resort is on the beach. Foods in the restaurant are good, with fast service. The room is big however, it is old. The garden needs pruning and manicuring to enhance the garden view. There is a room adjacent to my room which they made as a storeroom for resort upkeep/supplies but I find it as sore to the eyes. This should be hidden. Even then, staff are attentive.

Great place to stay and relax”

Pros: phenomenal location (in the city of chaweng + but peaceful and quiet+ walking distance to the beach) staff is very nice rooms are spacey and everything works well Food, food, food Cons: The tour option they offer aee toooo commercial Language barrier can make negotiations a bit sloppy. So make sure everything you negotiate is written on paper

15 VISITS AND STILL GO BACK”

Been going to Marine for 25 years. They now have everything from Fan rooms to luxury air con. perfect location and amazing food. staff are brill. mega chilled. what more could you want
