Easy walk to all cbd eateries and ocean side
changed to another hotel due to covid ...so happy with other hotel ?
No swimming pool and until you want to go to the swimming pool no one will tell you anything. Should tell that before you book... Breakfast was cold and to be honest what happened in kitchen? Eggs poached was over cooked, beans cold,.... good position but for the rest... I won’t recommend it
No pool, bad breakfast, no parking, TV with no HD, wi-fi always disconnected. Good management and staff.
The location is Great so close to alot of things ... There was a strong musky smell in our room but i just opened up the doors and let the fan run to air out the room.. The Staff was helpful.. The pool was out of order so you could use the Novotel Hotel Pool which was awesome.. So experience for me and my family was OK.
It is more like an old style motel. The shower in my room was ridiculous it had an old fashioned shower nozzle hardly enough water to have a decent shower. It is a bit of a walk to the centre of Cairns & there are really no facilities
If you’re on a really low budget or just need a place to sleep in Cairns before leaving, this could be your choice. Building and room condition is shockingly dilapidated. I definitely won’t come back here.
Pool bbq area are closed you have to go to another hotel to swim they are using the COVID as an excuse which is rubbish we have stayed at hotels all over Qld and none have their pools closed unexceptable also rooms need a renovation carpets are filthy, furniture is dated and knocked around this place has gone way down hill, they don’t advise that pool or facilities are closed that is just sly management
I spent a week here. Rooms were good. Beds were great. Clean and very comfortable. Showers good to very good. Staff were beyond great. Very helpful and considerate. Looking forward to a return visit.
half tv channels don't work single flush toilet .... really a bit antiquated need a make over room dreary won't stay here again

We were to spend time in Cairns and on a cruise. All non-refundable. But with the borders closed we were clearly not able to enjoy this holiday. All other operators gave full refunds except these. Gave nothing not even a credit. We spend a lot of time in Cairns but will not even consider staying here.
Great location and excellent price. Rooms are a little dated but the staff are great and rooms very clean and comfortable.
So a great shower can lift a hotel room significantly but like wise a poor one drags what was a 2 star rating down to a one. Water failed one day and reception were not really interested that the scheduled maintenance was impacting more than expected. Breakfast was poor, both in selection and quality.
The pictures make the property look like a worthwhile location but In reality it is a dated property in badly need of a refresh both inside and out. The couch in my family room was quite dirty with built in stains. I was shocked at the $26pp breakfast buffet (mine was included with our room) for what was served (I.e. micro wave scrambled eggs and over cooked bacon) with coffee extra. I am not picky but I felt guilty for booking this location for my more discerning family members. I have seen the very positive reviews and the only thing I can think of is that perhaps I got a “bum” room.
Fridge in room 305 not operational during my stay (28 April 2019).
Rooms are dark, no other view in ground-floor than to the conrete wall of the ugly balcony. Pictures if the pool gave me the image of a spacious resort, but it is just a motel level accommodation. Won’t stay there again.
Staff were friendly and helpful, great location if accessing medical facilities. Close to the esplanade and good value for money.

Clean, comfortable hotel and spacious family room. Cairns is an expensive place so we didn't use the restaurant, but staff were very friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds. Easy walking distance to Esplanade, shops etc. Wifi a bit patchy but not too bad!
The hotel is very close to the esplanade- the F&B area beside the river. Staff (Elaine) was very helpful and friendly. The room is quite basic but with comfort bed and good shower - quite important while you go out to the sea & rainforest activities .

Our stay was fantastic. We arrived to cairns exhausted and early and when we got to the hotel the friendly staff allowed us to check into the room early which was great. The room was spacious and perfect for a relaxing night in Cairns. Thanks for an awesome stay!
A bit old but have lift, basic breakfast with Yogurt, milk and fruit. If you want bacon, scramble egg and hash brown, need to pay extra. Good value.
close to town, walking distance to town.... and $20 bucks in a cab to airport. breakfast overpriced , better off eating out, cheap breakfast around the corner ,coffees, eggs bacon.

Breakfast buffet have to be improve, slightly more choices (hash brown: taste hard). Room: Internet signal have to strengthen.
I first stayed at Ibis styles in June 2016 but had to leave abruptly due to illness, but it was always my intention to return. This I did from 12-17/9/16. I stayed in the executive wing of the hotel, same room as b4. I found the staff to be exceptional and friendly, the room clean and most important 4 me quiet. I loved staying there and I will return to the Ibis next year at approx. same time as September in Cairns is quiet compared to the packed to the brim June-August. I love Cairns and my stay was made all the better for having such a great place to be based at. The location just 2 blocks from esplanade was also a plus. All in all for me I had a great stay and holiday in Cairns and at the Ibis. Do it.
Walking distance to the Esplanade but not so close that you hear all of the traffic. Clean. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Pay washer and dryers are available. Restaurant hosted continental breakfast was good and hostess was pleasant.
Got what u paid
The room was promoted as having a kitchenette, but there was no cooktop only a microwave and very limited plates with not even two of everything. In fact the rules stated no cooking in the apartment. The spa was very small - could not straighten legs and with the overflow, water was quite shallow.

Breakfast extremelly poor!!! We paid an expensive price to have breakfast and then when we arrived there we discovered that the breakfast wasn't complete and we should pay extra $11 each per day to have eggs and bacon (that was the full breakfast). Helpful recepcionist, good location.
I stayed at the Ibis for the last couple nights of my Australia holiday. The bed was very comfortable and the staff were great. My main complaint is the spotiness of the wifi. The main problem is that it would stop working altogether at random times.
Continental breakfast was included but they try to up-sell you to the full bacon & egg buffet for AUD11 which I and the mostly French and German guests thought was a good deal. The room servicing staff were super helpful, as was reception who provided large umbrellas which were very necessary.

As a tech head I would of loved to have power points next to the bed as having my phone charge over away from me was a little annoying. But everything else was great
very good experience.
Cristina was very friendly and helpful. She gave advise and tips on day trips. Hotel in general is old but clean. Location is ok, 10min walking distance to beach & shopping mall. The breakfast range can be very boring if you are staying for 4 nights. Would welcome a variety of pastry, cakes & bread/bun.

Very comfortable. So convenient to shops, dining, esplanade and car hire. Staff very friendly and happy to assist where they can.
