I stayed at "PIECE HOSTEL KYOTO," which is just a short walk from Kyoto Station. As soon as I stepped in, I thought, "Ah, I really like this place." The bright and open space has greenery, beautiful lighting, and everything is neatly arranged, making it look clean no matter where you look. The shared spaces and balcony are well-maintained, and there is a pleasant atmosphere flowing throughout the hostel. I was also delighted to enjoy freshly brewed coffee and Japanese tea, and when I had a cup of Japanese tea, I couldn't help but exclaim, "It's delicious." I stayed in a dormitory, and the bed was comfortable, allowing me to sleep soundly. Being assigned the lower bunk in a bunk bed was a blessing for me at 79 years old. What impressed me the most was the staff's subtle attentiveness. They reached out where necessary but didn’t intrude too much. That sense of distance felt very comfortable. It's close to Kyoto Station, convenient, clean, cozy, and reasonably priced. However, I believe the charm of this hostel is not just that you can stay for cheap. During my travels, taking a moment to sip coffee and sense the presence of travelers from unknown countries. Including such moments, it becomes a journey. It’s a different kind of luxury from a hotel, A place that makes you think, "I would like to stay here a bit longer." Being able to enjoy such a hostel at the age of 79 also makes me feel somewhat happy. When I come to Kyoto again, I want to stay here once more. For me, it feels like I’ve found a small villa in Kyoto.

The toilet and bath were separate, and the cleanliness was well-maintained. The bedding was comfortable, and the room was pleasant. I also had breakfast, which was delicious, and the staff's response was cheerful and pleasant in the morning. Although I didn't use the bus service, the bus stop was right in front, and the subway station was close by, making it very convenient.

I booked a moderate twin room for two nights starting May 1, 2026. The location is within walking distance from the Hachijo Exit of Kyoto Station, but if you have large luggage, it is convenient to use the subway Karasuma Line from Kujo Station, which is one stop from Kyoto Station. The room is relatively spacious at 22 square meters, and the facilities include a separate bath and toilet, a wide bathtub, a ReFa showerhead, and a hairdryer, along with a refrigerator and an air purifier for comfort. It is understandable that amenities were not provided in the room, and I had to pick up what I needed myself. Since I stayed multiple nights, if I chose cleaning, they exchanged my towels and sheets. I would like to use this place again.

The breakfast was very delicious and had a wide variety, making it enjoyable. The room was clean and provided a comfortable space to relax. The staff were also very kind, and their warm service was impressive. The hotel's location is right across from the station, which made access excellent. They were able to hold my luggage after checkout, allowing me to enjoy sightseeing freely, which was a great help. I definitely want to use this place again!

Place is dirty & terrible. Once u enter the door it looks like a storage room. No space for dining b/c they made the first floor like a storage area. At the website pictures so nice & clean with a kitchen. Not true it’s dirty full of mess. The way going upstairs is slippery not good for disabled person. No laundry but it says there’s laundry. I booked 2 nights but after I saw the place , I booked other hotel and left the place. Unfortunately no refund for my booking on this place. The owner is nice though and polite. That’s the only nice over there.

I thought it was a bit far from Kyoto Station, so I had not gone until now, but I finally went! As the title suggests, it is a very good hotel, more than twice as good. It has a large public bath, and the front desk and lobby are very nice, with a sense of cleanliness throughout the hotel. The rooms are also clean, and I was given a spacious room even as a solo guest. There are many affordable and good hotels around Kyoto Station, but you should definitely go to Almont Hotel Kyoto! In fact, I arrived just a short walk away. Choosing to include meals was also a great decision! There are many options that are both convenient and inexpensive, and it is the best hotel around Kyoto Station! It comes highly recommended! The only downside is that I wished there was an outlet by the bedside. It's close to Kyoto Station, has a large public bath, and the rooms are clean, with a great clientele. I will definitely go again.

As soon as I entered the facility, there was a pleasant fragrance, it was clean, and there were plenty of chairs at the front desk. I was satisfied that I could store my luggage both after check-in and after check-out. The amenities were mostly well-prepared, and I was happy that they were also available in the bathroom. The large public bath was spacious and clean, and there were various types of shampoo available, which made me satisfied. The breakfast had a wide variety of food typical of Kyoto, including desserts, and I was happy with it. There was nothing disappointing about this affordable and excellent hotel, and I definitely want to use it again next time. If I had to mention something, it was that since I was on the fifth floor, the view wasn't great.

The next day, after completing the northern tour, I booked accommodation near Kyoto Station to return to Osaka. Breakfast included, within a 5-minute distance from Kyoto Station, right next to a Lawson convenience store, appropriately sized rooms, bathrooms with bathtubs, abundant amenities, and friendly staff... Above all, it was an incredibly good value accommodation. If I stay in Kyoto again, it will definitely be here.

It's very good just for staying! Hotels in Kyoto are currently very expensive, so it was great to be able to stay at this price. Having the bath and toilet in separate rooms is a drawback, but I didn’t have any other issues. There’s a coin laundry and a dryer that you can use for free, but if you don’t use them early, they get busy! As for the bath, there are about four shower rooms with doors and a large public bath. There’s also a rental for shampoo and conditioner, which is really nice! The bed was spacious and big, so that was good too! The front desk had a lot of amenities available for rent!

It is right in front of you when you exit the Kujo Station. It is also close to Kyoto Station, making the location excellent. You can enjoy free drinks in the lobby and a welcome drink starting at 6 PM. Since there was a classical performance happening, I was able to relax. Additionally, there is a large public bath, a sauna for men, and a ceramic bath for women (by reservation), all providing a level of satisfaction that didn't feel like it was just 6,000 yen. The downsides are that there are no outlets near the bed and the room can be a bit dry, but the room was clean and comfortable to stay in.

The price matched the service, and the staff's response was very good, with a rich selection of amenities. They offered to keep my luggage before check-in and after check-out, and the guidance was very polite and appreciated. The Wi-Fi environment was comfortable, and the bathroom was easy to use. Breakfast could be paid for on the morning of the day, with options for credit cards, PayPay, and cash. The selections included bread, curry, salad, yogurt, juice, and milk, which was satisfying. The location is just a few minutes' walk from Kyoto Station, making shopping convenient, and there is a convenience store right next to the hotel, which was very handy. Although the frosted glass blocked the view, and there were some cleanliness issues, such as hair stuck to the hairdryer and trash on the carpet near the bed, even considering that, it was good enough that I would want to stay here again.

It is conveniently located just a short walk from the JR Hachijo Gate, making it easy to access. In case of bad weather, you can also access it via the underground passage, which is a great location. The old-fashioned feel is actually calming. The cleanliness is well maintained, and the air purifier and air conditioning worked well. The breakfast buffet is outstanding; everything was very delicious. They changed the usual start time from 7 AM to 6 AM to accommodate weekend crowds, showing a great flexibility in their response. The staff's service is also excellent. I felt that the courtesy training was well implemented. Especially, the handling of luggage before check-in and after check-out was smooth, allowing me to leave my bags with peace of mind. Thank you!

Seamless experience from the hotel. Checking was easy we sent our baggage on arrival and departure assisted by staff. Who delivered exceptional service as my onward journey hotel would not register on app. I particularly appreciated the gentleman assisting me. Location was great straight across from the train station. Easy access to the local transport for sight seeing. Great stay great staff. Than you for a great visit.

We stayed in Kyoto for one night, a total of four people. The room was very nice, spacious, and had a complete kitchen with everything you need to cook. The bathroom was clean and had toiletries provided, which I really liked. The owner of the accommodation lived nearby and provided excellent service, even though they didn't speak much English, they made every effort to assist us. I highly recommend it. Affordable and good!

Located behind Kyoto Station, it has easy access to the station and although there are few parking spaces, it is very convenient as you can park right next to the hotel. Additionally, the facilities were well cleaned and had a sense of freshness. I stayed with breakfast included, and the quality was high, making me very satisfied. I definitely want to use this hotel again.

I initially chose this place because it is close to Kyoto Station and the reviews seemed good. The room was spacious for a Japanese hotel, and the public bath was nice. There were also four massage chairs that I used well, and I was very satisfied. The breakfast wasn't as great as I expected, but it wasn't bad. I stayed for two nights at first and then added two more nights.

It was close to the station, reasonably priced, spacious, and clean, so it was good. However, I have two complaints. I stayed at this hotel twice, and in both cases, the dial password to get the key was very confusing, and I had to call for assistance to figure it out. Also, the first room I was shown during my second visit was supposed to be non-smoking, but it smelled like cigarettes and was the worst. However, when I inquired over the phone, they immediately changed my room, and their response was excellent. If it were someone's first time in Kyoto, I would definitely recommend it.
