Nakamanda Resort & Spa”
We stayed at the Nakamanda for three days, and were extremely happy with the design, service and location of the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff from check-in throughout the whole stay. The resort sits right on the turn of south and noth Klong Muang beach. Head up to the north and the beach is nice, but the vista is dominated by a ship-loading pier - thankfully blocked out of view the turn and trees from the beachside pool and restaurant at Nakamanda. Head south on Klong Muang and you have one of the best and least crowded beaches in Krabi. There's a few restaurants and shops around outside the resort, and Klong Muang village is around 10 minutes walk away. We reserved our room just a day before, impulsive decision to splurge a bit while flashpacking around Krabi. Our vila was on the lower level, but that's to be expected when booking just a day before. Vila's themselves are very well designed, roomy and lovely front porch and bathrooms. Beautiful tended gardens enclose the vilas and the design and architecture gives the place a real sense of personality, a lot more so than international chains like Sheratons et all. Nakamunda is more like a very unique version of a Banyan tree resort. Highly recommended.

Even Better Than Expected”
We arrived at Nakamanda and were 'blown away' by the presentation of the resort and room. The photos we had seen online weren't 'trick photography' and it was better than expected. We spent 7 days and 8 nights in this beautiful place. The client discount for spa treatments made some endulgence quite affordable. Plenty of options for day trips or plenty of room to laze around the large pool in either sun or shade. Breakfast offered a buffet with the selection being alternated daily and an alacarte menu to order from if prefered. The lunch and dinner menus also had reasonable selection and food always tasted great. Prices were reasonable for a resort. Plenty of eating options outside the resort, although not many were open for lunch. A couple of shops in close proximity with more about 20 minutes walk down the road. 15 minute taxi ride to Ao Nang if wanting markets, restaurants and nightlife galore (Klong Muang is itself relatively quiet) for 400 BAHT each way per taxi. Long boat trips are available from the beach for a more personal tour without having to bus to Ao Nang first. 700 BAHT taxi from airport, or use the resort service for a bit more.

Excellant 4D 3N stay”
Nakamanda is 40 mins drive from Krabi Int'l airport, we arranged for airport transfer directly with the hotel which costs THB800. Our flight was delayed for an hour but the driver still greet us with a big smile. Hotel staff are very friendly and we were given a tour upon arrival. Love our spacious Sala villa which is the size of a 3-room flat. The hotel is generally quite and away from busy town, good for those who prefer a peaceful and relaxing holiday. The swimming pool was never over crowded and sometimes we have the whole pool to ourselves. There's a beach just a few steps away from the pool, when it's low tide you can take a walk and find tiny crabs on the beach. We enjoyed our body scrub and massage at the hotel spa, prices are very reasonable. Food from hotel restaurant is good and reasonably priced but a bit slow in serving. If you are a seafood lover, I recommend eating at BaanThai which is just opposite Nakamanda, seafood is really delicious and cheap. There's a small minimart outside the hotel. We booked all of our transfers and tours via the hotel, the staff are always ready to serve and provide recommendations. We had fun on our half day 4-island hopping trip on speedboat which costs THB1200/person where we get to see beautiful fishes, corrals and sea urchins. There are other day tours to choose from and be prepared to get wet and apply loads of sunscreen. Aonang - lots of souvenir shops, restaurants and bars. The hotel provides transfer by shuttle van which costs THB300/person round trip, but this is only available from Mons-Thurs at 5:30pm. As we went to Aonang on a saturday, we had to arrange a private car which costs THB1000 round trip, more expensive but the pick up and return time is at our convenience. Krabi town & walking street - nothing much there, disappointed! Nakamanda is definitely my top pick for hotel stay when I visit Krabi again.

Love at first stay”
Nakamanda stole my heart. Wonderful first time in Krabi. Kudos to the excellent staff who were friendly, polite and extremely helpful throughout the stay. Airport transfer: driver waited 1hr+ due to flight delay, made us wait in shade while he cooled the car, gave us cold bottled mineral water (38c, no rain for 4 months he said). The 40min ride cost 800baht, no extra charge by hotel. Note: undeveloped road from Long Beach Villa up to Coco Nori to be completed mid 2014. Kwan, manager on duty, received us and took care of everything while we ‘lounged about’ with welcome drinks. Nuch guided us to the upper room Villa. So quiet we rarely saw other guests; at breakfast 15:1 Caucasians vs Asians. Grounds akin to well-kept tropical garden with a few stray leaves, bees, wasps, mozzies (met only 2, repellent provided), squirrels and a resident calico cat who pays a visit now and then. A lot of stairs with sharp edges though. The library has 6 computers with internet, books in at least 5 languages. Nothing to buy in the gallery. Enjoyed luxurious massages at the Spa (discounts on Tues & Fri)! No spectacular sunrise or sunsets, more like rocky cove at the far end. Next door, Beyond Beach Resort and Sheraton share the same beach, use hotel torch light at night - lovely starry sky. Plenty taxi stands (same price), stalls and restaurants outside. 7Eleven is 400m from hotel. Opposite: BanThai (popular with families), further up Indian & Nepali Cuisine and The Terrace (rated by TripAdvisor). Fresh seafood @Ruean Siam Restaurant, walk along beach. Nakamanda room service is reasonably priced with sumptuous selection. Just book taxis & tours at reception, convenient pickup/dropoff, no extra charge; private day tours are customisable. Recommended for young couples, honeymooning and spa enthusiasts.

Great spa, good value”
The service at the Nakamanda is quite good compared to other hotels in Krabi. Staff are very accommodating, honest, and friendly. Compared to some other Krabi hotels the view from the Nakamanda is not fantastic, but if you spend some time on a boat or kayak tour, you will see great views so not to worry. The spa is absolutely wonderful and we spent at least an hour there each day. wish it could be longer! Pool is large and well maintained, very clean, chlorinated. Restaurant not bad, facing the beach, quite tasty, but not too fancy. Extensive wine list. Breakfast ok with fruit, cereal, congee, egg stand, pastries, hot meat, thai noodles. Rooms are spacious with large comfy beds, aircon, well equipped bathrooms, a safe to store valuables, beach bag, sandals, umbrellas, slippers, robes, electric kettle, daily mineral water, free wi-fi, and multi-EU/US plugs. There is also a nice sala veranda with a table, towel rack to dry swimwear, and a large futon cushion. Great to relax there, especially with the overhead ceiling fan, and electric bug killer. Bring bug spray while outside! There seems to be lots to do around Krabi including boat tours, kayaking, fishing, snorkeling, diving, elephant tours, etc. Some of it is easily accessed right off the hotel's beach front. If you get bored, you can visit the hotels next door which are larger resorts and bigger restaurants. The negatives were 1) we had no hot water, perhaps an oversight that can be easily repaired 2) despite a LARGE bathroom, there was no privacy in the toilet 3) not too many restaurant or shop choices in Klong Muang but you can easily travel by taxi to Ao Nang, albeit the hotel car transfer is quite expensive at 500 bht each way. Mosquito nets over the beds would be nice too. Overall we enjoyed our short stay, and I would recommend the hotel for its good value and privacy.

Elegant hotel that is great value”
the nakamanda was a lovely surprise. we have not been to krabi before and were a little unsure as krabi is quite developed but knew that nakamanda was further out on a quiet beach and were pleased when we arrived and saw the location. it is also not too isolated, there are a few shops and restaurants near the entrance. the room was lovely and spacious, with very large windows and a comfy sofa, but the best bit was the large sunken bath with its glass panel above so you could bathe and see the stars at night. the grounds are not very big (but it is a smallish hotel) but are well kept and there is a huge pool and plenty of sun loungers. food was excellent, both thai and western, and the food and drink was very reasonably priced, the cheapest we have had at equivalent hotels in south east asia, but the quality was still superb. there is nothing worse than feeling that you are being ripped-off by a hotel on drinks but at nakamanda that was not the case. the hotel has a shuttle that goes into the town of ao nang at 5:30pm and returns at 10pm which is good (and cheaper than a taxi) and they even recommend where to eat there, but it is nice when you return to the quiet of nakamanda after seeing some of the gaudier bits of ao nang. the only thing that is a shame (which we did know before we booked) is that it does not have a better part of the beach, but you can just walk round the left corner and swim there. my boyfriend really likes to use the gym but the equipment was quite outdated and needs to be updated, especially the running machine. we meant to add this to the hotel questionnaire before we left but ran out of time. that said, we really enjoyed our stay and would go again.

Fantastic!! ”
We stayed at Ao Nang and decided after reading the reviews we wanted something more quieter and headed to klong muang for two nights at the nakamanda. This hotel was faultless. Everything about it was perfect. Food, accommodation, staff, location. For a five star resort the menu prices were very reasonable. Excellent choice. Pool area stunning and the beach area is so quiet and naturally beautiful. Highly recommended. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Nakamanda A Great Small Resort”
If you like small resort hotels with great accommodation and friendly staff then the Nakamanda is for you. Sure the place could do with a lick of paint here and there and sometimes requests to the staff got lost in translation but this was exactly the type of resort we were looking for. High quality villas with great pool area and breakfast/dining and extremely friendly and helpful staff. . Khlong Muang is away from the hussle and bussle of Ao Nang and Krabi town yet still had plenty of restaurants and amenities locally. All in all the Nakamanda is a five star resort.

Fantastic boutique chalet resort”
idyllic resort hidden away on klong muang, an exclusive 5-star corner of krabi, yet only 15 minutes by longtail to the likes of railay beach. we dined at the other 5-star resorts (ritz-carlton, amari vogue) whilst both were very good nakamanda still had by far the best value for money restaurant and excepting perhaps the ritz it has the best setting as well. rooms were good for the money and bathrooms were absolutely spot on. nothing special about the jacuzzi villa, not private. pool villa on the other hand is incredible with outsanding sunset views.

So romantic hotel ”
Nakamanda Resort is so amazing a hotel. There are only villas in the hotel. All of the rooms are very big, luxury and comfortable.I love the beautiful terrance with white voile. It only takes several minutes of walking to the sea. It's so romantic to have breakfast and dinner beside the beach. SPA in the hotel is also wonderful, much much better than those outside. One more highlight is their service. In general, my parents and I felt so happy here. It is good enough to stay in the hotel all day long.I would recommend the hotel to everybody that wants to go to Krabi.

Peaceful and relaxing”
We stayed in a Sala Villa at Nakamanda Resort & Spa for 3 nights in November 2009. The peaceful nature of the hotel stems from the fact that there are only 36 villas. We experienced food cooked from the restaurant located at the resort, 'The Kitchen', and both the restaurant and in-room dining was of a very high standard. The sheer size and spaciousness of the bathroom is impressive. The see-through glass ceiling above the bathtub and the amenities supplied were a stand out. My wife had a treatment at the Spa which was very professional and she thoroughly enjoyed the products used.

Lovely hotel with relaxed atmosphere in beautiful ”
we stayed at nakamanda in mid-october 2011 for six nights and had a wonderful vacation. the rooms are very clean, spacious, and comfortable. we stayed in a sala villa and couldn't believe how large the bathroom was. there is also a large porch with a sofa that is another nice place to read and relax. our two sons, ages 4 and 6, enjoyed playing in the pool and on the narrow strip of beach that is adjacent to the pool. the sea in front of the resort is very shallow, so great for small kids. the low tide exposed a huge expanse of beach for them to explore. around the corner, towards the sheraton, and over some rocks, is a larger beach that is nice for running and walking. nakamanda has free kayaks and can easily arrange boat trips to local islands. we really enjoyed how secluded the resort felt due to it's position in a small cove, yet appreciated being able to go to other restaurants at night. the coconut restaurant, around the bend after nakamanda, is operated by a former chef from the oriental in bangkok - not to be missed! mother's house, next door to nakamanda, is also very good. great resort!

A Perfect Pampering Paradise”
Our 3-night stay at The Nakamanda was so pure blissful! It has beautiful villas set in a serene surrounding with lush greenery. Convenient mini-mart, laundry and restaurant just outside hotel. We looked forward to the delicious daily English Hi-Tea (compliments from the hotel) though the selection is. We also loved the private verandah that comes with each Sala-Villa, a great place to just relax in the day-bed. The bathroom was gorgeous and has see-thru glass ceilings above the bathtub. Free WiFi within the hotel compound and DVD player in the room. We enjoyed the Senses Package treatment at the Naga Spa so much that we booked our second aromatic massage on day of our departure. The Kitchen served excellent thai food at reasonable price. Room service was very fast. For island tours, we booked a longtail private boat to 4-island which include Hong Island - it was a great place to feed fishes and kids will definitely love it ! Do also visit Phi Phi Islands in a speed boat - you will not regret it ! We had such a fantastic holiday that we are now planning to visit Nakamanda in June with our children !

Fantastic boutique hotel with great service”
If you are hoping to party all night or experience the hustle and bustle of a town, this is not the hotel for you. The Nakamanda is located near a rather remote beach (not as remote as Amari Vogue and the Ritz-Carlton Reserve though). The nearest town is Ao Nang and it is about 20-30 minutes away by taxi. Like Phuket, taxis in Krabi are rather expensive. For couples or families who want a quiet getaway and idyllic island life, this is definitely the place to be in! Unlike most hotels, this hotel provides decently priced in-house services like meals, spa packages and transportation. There are a few Thai restaurants (that also serve Western cuisine) outside the hotel. They offer slightly more variety and are slightly cheaper than the hotel. Our personal favourite was the Coconut (about 50m away from the hotel's main entrance heading left) and the Terrace (about 300m away from the hotel's main entrance heading right).

An amazing retreat!”
I had an absolutely fantastic stay at Nakamanda Resort & Spa!!! The quality of service at this hotel is simply amazing. All staff members did their utmost to make me feel comfortable, yet they certainly never hassled me. The breakfast offers a huge variety of delicious food, the pool is lovely and the spa treatments are divinely relaxing. The hotel is located quite a distance away from the tourist hub of Ao Nang, but that's exactly why I elected to stay there. I will be back for sure!

Excellent for a short respite”
Situated in Klong Muang, which is away from the more happening part of Krabi--Aonang. The beach is secluded and accessible to a long stretch of lovely beach which is Klong Muang beach. Situated Here there are some bigger resorts. This location is excellent quiet rest & rejuvenation . The hotel spa and pool is excellent. A short walk away is Klong Muang town, where there are some good eateries. Rooms is extraordinary spacious and service attentive. Good breakfast.

Absolutely wonderful resort! Loved every minute”
pros: we stayed at nakamanda in january as part of our honeymoon. we had an amazing time - an unforgettable experience! it's a very romantic place and we didn't want to leave! the accommodation is extremely modern and clean but also reflect the traditional thai style villas and sit in lush green surroundings. you have your own little private beach and the water is so lovely and clear and its peaceful and quite compared to the other beaches in the area. yes it is not possible to swim when it's low tide but you can walk a few metres around the corner to the left or right and you will find long beaches on either side - but they're a lot busier than the small beach at nakamanda. there is also a cute little island you can swim over to (or walk in low tide). from nakamanda - long tail boats wait on the shore to take you over to places like 'hong island' and for a bit more cash can take you all the way to ao nang/railay/four islands/ etc breakfast was amazing! - they have a bit of everything: cereals, juices, teas/coffees, yoghurts, fruits, hot thai food (6 different options), cheeses, omelettes, croissants, pancakes, breads etc etc dinner was always so romantic as you sit right by the beach with lanterns lit up all around you. seriously if you go to south thailand - stay here. it's an absolute paradise and we can't wait to go back to nakamanda again. we actually loved it so much while we were there that we cancelled our trip to koh tao island and instead stayed at nakamanda another night. all the staff - especially 'su' were very friendly, attentive and helpful (even cleaning a cut on my toe and putting a bandage on it - as well as telling me to come back the next day so they could check on it) its like a home away from home! we miss it 5 stars at its best!

Lovely hotel with wonderful service”
this is our second stay at nakamanda and we again enjoyed the wonderful small hotel and fabulous service! the rooms are pretty much the same as before - large, airy, open with wonderful lighting, clean with wonderful amenities. they have now added wireless to the whole resort so that's a big plus. we love the place for the service - yet again rit (the chief concierge), went out of his way to make us feel at home. the kids enjoyed the huge pool - without crowds, walking on the beach and just relaxing. of course 1 concern i have for next year is the new resort coming up beside the nakamanda - don't know if this will change the ambiance. surprisingly although work was ongoing at the new resort - sound and disturbance was at a minimum. will definitely visit again! keep it up nakamanda.

Amazing hotel with excellent service to boot”
We stayed in the Sala Villa and managed to get one on the second floor with partial sea view from our balcony. The room is exactly like it is in the pictures. Room was clean and neat upon arrival, with complementary fruit basket. Special mention regarding the bathroom, with 2 separate his/her sinks and a lovely large bathtub with sky light. The room comes with a dvd player, and free DVDs can be rented from reception. Breakfast can be delivered to the room. Service of staff in general was excellent right from the moment we arrived up till the moment we left - friendly and attentive to our needs. On our first night, we decided to have dinner in the hotel restaurant. Even though slightly pricier than what you can get outside the hotel, I must say we thoroughly enjoyed that meal. We sat outside the restaurant beside the pool, which allowed us to enjoy the cool sea breeze. Candelit table, cushions and the sound of the waves... coupled with excellent food (in my opinion, slightly better than Mama Hut down the road)... Best meal of our stay. Would like to specially mention that the staff at the restaurant were extremely attentive and we were pleasantly surprised with the level of service we received. The beach next to the hotel is not as beautiful, but if you take a short walk along the beach towards the Sheraton during low tide, the beach there is very nice: quiet, clean white sand and clear blue water. We made a trip to Railay beach but found that the beach nearer our hotel was better and less commercialised. Highly recommend Nakamanda if you are going to Krabi. It is not as convenient living in Ao Nang, but it is the perfect getaway for a relaxing holiday. I would definitely return if I decide to visit Krabi again! Thank you so much guys for the lovely stay. Keep up the good work!

Relaxing Holiday ”
My husband and I had a fabulous 6 days at the Nakamanda. A beautiful resort that has got a bit of age on it but still lovely. The villas are very private and set amidst lovely well kept gardens. The location is right on the beach with little bars and restaurants a short stroll up the beach or head out onto the road for many more options. The pool and restaurant area is very attractive with various seating options, either at the edge of the water, by the pool or up on a higher level. Breakfast is an international and plentiful affair with cappuccino/latte included. Meals at the restaurant are good but we ate mostly at the many surrounding restaurants that were also good and a bit cheaper. The tour and taxi prices at the resort are very competitive and we felt were the better option. Complimentary shuttle to Krabi night markets on Saturdays and Aonang on Tuesday nights. The staff are faultless and truly seem to be happy in their work. We would definitely stay here again.
