Great combination of Japan and Thai style”

Onsen@Moncham is recommended hotel for whoever wait for Japan opening again. Absolutely YES, Onsen is the greatest point here with almost 100%’of Japanese style. Great mixture of JP and Thai courtasy. Japanese Decoration with spotless where is perfect fusion of traditional and modern style. Focusing in every single detail as serenity, cleanliness , comfy pillow and futon , well-trained staffs. Moreover, understanding in thai women heart who are not feel free to naked in public area is noted. Individually thin and disposable lingeries are welled-prepared in locker. Nevertheless men still naked as original style😋 Plan to be back here in winter again

Each time I've stayed here, it has been perfect. From the staff, to the accommodation, to the food, to the Onsen itself, Onsen @ Moncham nails it on every level. I would highly recommend a stay here - If i could give it more than 5 stars, I would. This time, I stayed in the Imperial Onsen Suite and I loved it. The in-room onsen is divine.

Our first experience of staying in Moncham was made so much better by wonderful people at the Front end . Very friendly and helpful staff . We really enjoyed onsen at hotel .Would highly recommend anyone visit Moncham to stay at this hotel.

Relaxing”

Stayed at Onsen@Moncham for 4 nights with wife and some friends. Wonderful, cool weather because it's up in the mountains. Fantastic breakfast buffets. Beautiful scenery with some of the mountaintops within driving distance. Onsen was clean and relaxing, massages are excellent and affordable. A muay thai camp is just a 5-minute walk up the road, and the owner/instructor is outstanding. The only challenge was transport - you need to inform the hotel in advance if you want a driver (and you need a driver because there isn't much else near the hotel) and communicating with the hotel staff can be difficult because they aren't all familiar with English. Calling a Grab is also an option, but difficult because many locations are written in Thai script.

Thanks for these gorgeous 24 hours in this tiny part of Japan hidden in the mountains next to Chiang-mai. It was our first encounter with the Onsen phenomenon. Accompanied by great food, amenities and service, this magic stay will be remembered with the warmth. We will definitely come here again.

The room is big enough with Onsen room style. During covid they just don't open the public Onsen area so will be available only in your room. One thing you have to be careful is the dinner restaurant as the price is high not as a quality you will get. Too expensive for Japanese beef shabu style. All over is quite good enough and the staff are very helpful and warm welcome.

Suggest to organize regular shuttles or tour (even with fees) to visit the nearby farms or elephant park for their enjoyment of nature and recreation. Aside from enjoying the Onsen inside the hotel, residents can also find entertainment around the area, making the visit to Moncham a fruitful one.

A hybrid Japanese-Thai accommodation ”

A nice place overall with spacious rooms. There is one main restaurant serving 7am till 11pm. A-la-carte menu is more hybrid than fusion as claimed. The quality is not impressive, just an average. The breakfast buffet is fine but disappointing if one expects a genuine Japanese breakfast. In room amenity and safety features are of high standard but need an improvement on the floor double-level safety. I recommend a dim-light strategically installed so one can notice the double levels in the dark and not disturbing when in bed. The onsen can be disappointing if one expects a genuine Japanese onsen. Like I chose to caption a “hybrid”, not a fusion nor genuine.

Our tireness from long time working was completely gone when we arrived there because of stunning atmosphere.The wether was so nice.Although we were in during summer but There was the cold mist in the night and morning.Our suit room with private onsen was very clean and neat .All facility was available.(especially for Netflix).Our dinner was meat Shabu and red wine.The vegetables was fresh and meat was really good.The Japanese style deserts were also traditionally.Breakfast was a la carte buffet.The quality was 5 star graded hotel.

Strongly recommend to stay here when you visit Moncham during winter. Hotel view is very good. Dinner and breakfast is really yummy and variety

Nice place, but management is a failure”

Planned to meet with friends at Moncham to have a coffee in the afternoon. We had booked there, our friends didn't as it was fully booked. Friends arrived 10 minutes before us and were denied seating and had to wait for us! Incredibly impertinent behavior. After our arrival we still could not sit with our friends on the terrace, but got a bench on the far from the terrace. (terrace actually almost empty!!) Room service food arrived late and without forks and spoons, arrived 20 minutes later. It did not matter much as food was cold at the beginning. Quality of the food was only average. Bedware (pillows and linens) too cheap at that price (24.000 THB/night) IKEA standard at best. On check out they asked for 200THB for lost key card... (maybe we left it in the room) Much better places to stay at in Chiang Mai... steer clear of Moncham... Price-Experience-Quality relationship NOT OK 5 Star prices and 3 Star service at best.

The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Very nice environment and decor. Food is good, especially the pasta. Onsen water not hot enough. Shirt stroll to Mon Cham and nearby view points within 1 hour.

Relaxing stay with unknown problems. ”

This hotel is quiet and relaxing. We initially enjoyed the stay but then the water sneak out from the onsen (shower) to the living room. The manager if the hotel immediately changed another room for us, but they owed us a reasonable explanation. Firstly, it is extremely strange to see that water sneaking out from the shower and onsen place to the living room. We did not understand because the water was not full at all. To be honest, even if the water from the onsen was full, it is still impossible to see the water sneaking out to the living room. Isn’t it? How come the water would sneak out from the onsen to the living room, not to the bathroom of the other side, but to the living room. This is no acceptable despite the staff was helpful and quick in terms of fixing the problem.

It's very nice place and good decoration especially service from hotel staffs. I booked Majestic family room. This room sales for 4 persons but they have provided for 8 beds. My kids are so happy to choose their own location as i go with 4 adults and 2 kids. we can spend 2 more bed without any additional cost but we need to pay for breakfast fee for kids with reasonable price. In the room cleanliness is ok except sometime there are not good smell from the toilet. They have fitness room that we can use 24 hrs but they have no Running machine. Breakfast is so fresh for everything and you can order with special menu with no additional charge. Onsen i love it. There are indoor and outdoor pool. It's no nice and relax. In overall i think this hotel is very good and i feel so comfort to be here.

Great Onsen!”

The closest to an authentic Onsen that you can find outside Japan. Great settings, great sized rooms, inadequate and slightly dangerous parking though. Beware of some of the 2-leveled rooms. Fell in the wee hours if the morning and completely fractured the phalanx of my right most little toe. Personnel on site are well trained to handle the “injury” and offered to send me to the hospital. All in all, had a great stay here and very impressed with the services and attention provided.

Very friendly staff, spacious room, great view”

We spent 2 nights at the resort. The moment we stepped inside the property, we were like "wow". The landscape is brilliantly designed. The room is spacious. The best is the Japanese style toilet. Minibar except for alcohol were free. What I don't like about the room is that a mattress (which was super comfy) was on the wooden floor. It is quite hard to get up. As well as a small low table and chair (without legs) aren't very practical especially for elderly. What really need to be improved is food. During our stay we have tried egg Benedict, congee, french toast, shabu shabu, and tempura. We were not impressed. Overall, it s a great place to stay if you do not have problem with mobility.

No description! Just perfect! We really did enjoy our stay! The location of the hotel was brilliant! Wonderful scenery of moutains and forest! The onsen was so nice and very clean! Also variety choices of food! And most of all the staffs were so friendly!
