Nice boutique resort ”

Stayed here for 4 nights on our first leg of the trip in Koh Samui. Upon arrival, the hotel was able to give us early check-in but unfortunately, there was toilet problem in our suite. Once they resolved the toilet issue, then it's the bathroom flooding issue... in which the receptionist, Ms Pui, managed to move us to another room at night time and it completely resolved our toilet problems. We enjoyed our stay here and would like to thank Outrigger staffs for making our stay memorable. There was one beach staff who was very helpful when our son fell on the beach rock and his knee was bleeding. He quickly grabbed the first-aid kid and administered it to our son. We are very appreciative for his help as well. Though the location is a bit inwards, for travelers who would like to save a bit of money, you can easily rent bike or car from the outside hotel small store - Power B travel - and it has laundry service as well. We definitely would not hesitate to come back if we happen to visit Koh Samui again.

Fantastic Trip”

Before my arrival, I had no expectations on Outrigger Koh Samui Beach Resort, that was proved .... so clever!!! Because since my day 1 in there, their staff and facilities amazed me & my family members in every single aspects you can and you can not imagine. Perfect place & perfect work!

Surprisingly wonderful trip”

Stayed in room 117 pool suite villa which had relative privacy compared to other villas (as mentioned in other reviews) so we were very pleased... Staff were all very friendly and helpful, if you needed help they would promptly send someone to your villa to speak to you in person - be it to fix the jacuzzi in the pool or talk about doing an activity. I would NOT recommend the BBQ buffet dinners as the quality of the meat and buffets were very average. However, the ala carte food was excellent and I highly recommend the padthai and wagyu burger at lunch time. Breakfast was also outstanding, the menu said we were only allowed 2 choices but in actual fact you can order as much as you desire. We did the half day snorkelling and sunset activity which cost 1700++ baht each which was a complete let down. It was run by an external company and the boat broke down halfway and had to wait 30min for a new boat, the tour finished before sunset and the food was abysmal. The hotel does not seem to earn any commission for booking this for you though... so maybe its best to find your own. Airport transfer costs 800baht when it is a 5-10 minute drive from the airport which is a complete ripoff. Taxis are a ripoff in general here and its 300 baht to the airport. Hard to find a metered taxi or tuktuk due to the seclusion of this hotel. 400 baht to Chaweng beach in a taxi but the hotel provides shuttlebus at 2 set times. Other than that we were more than happy to just stay at this resort all day as it is that good! Will definitely stay here the next time I am back at Koh Samui!

An absolute gem!”

Had an absolutely superb stay at AKARYN! From the moment my wife and I arrived, we were greeted with nothing but smiles and excellent service! I can't praise enough the excellent attitudes of the staff! From the reception and concierge to the restaurant staff, bartender and masseuse, their attitudes and professionalism were simply top-notch! While it might be true that there are many other hotels and resorts in Koh Samui that is likely to beat the AKARYN in terms of the beaches, facilities and location, I am certainly sure, after staying at many top resorts on the island, including the Banyan Tree Koh Samui, that not many can boast of such good service standards! Thank you, AKARYN, for making our stay a most memorable one!

Enjoyable stay ”

We spent 5 nights with outrigger. The resort is decently equipped with nice public pools, clean private beach and 24 hours fitness center. Our pool Villa is clean and comfortable. Pool is a bit small but doesn't matter if you do not plan to hang out in villa for too long. Service is good as well. Breakfast buffer has a large variety to choose from. The resort is located at a less crowded part of Samui and near to airport. There is a convenience store nearby and a few restaurants. If you are looking to have a peaceful mind free stay. Outrigger is a good choice.

A very new resort and absolutely fantastic. ”

We loved this resort. This was actually our second visit here. We stayed here for 5 nights before going to Koh Phangan. As we needed to stay back on Koh Samui for our last night before heading home we wanted to stay at Akaryn again. The location is nice and quiet but only 10 minutes from airport and 10 minutes from Chaweng. It is a new resort. We had a pool seaside villa which was excellent, very spacious. The food was excellent. Every morning we looked forward to the great breakfast. We had snacks and cocktails by the pool during the day and the dinners were so good, very fresh. But probably the best thing about this resort was the excellent service. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. AJ and Roy in the restaurant, Pan in the spa, Oh and Nun at reception. And lots of little touches, like complimentary snacks at the pool, fresh fruit in the room and relaxing music on an ipod for use. We were treated to a manager's complimentary cocktails at the pool on our first night. We would highly recommend this resort. We hope we can get back there in the not too distant future.

Relaxing time, excellent beach and pool.”

We stayed a night at Akaryn at the pool suite. When we check in, the staff give us a short tour of the restaurant. There is 3 restaurant there and offering food for different price range. For the pool suite, the room and the bathroom is excellent. There is natural light from the top at the shower place. But the pool is a bit small, which actually u cant swim. But the public pool which is close to the beach has excellent sea view. All the facility there looks quite new, which is clean and tidy. The pool bar's drink is excellent, just the price is a bit expensive if not in happy hour. The location is a bit far from Chaweng, which u need a transport everytime u want out(so u need to rent a motor bike). Overall we have a very good experience there, and will visit again next time i come koh samui

Relaxing and enjoyable in great location”

I stayed with 2 other friends in Pool Suite 106 which overlooked the main pool and restaurant and had views to the ocean. The location is about a 10 minute drive from Chaweng Beach so great if you want to be away from the hustle and nightlife of Chaweng. We had room service alot and the overall service and food was amazing. Definitely recommend this resort for any travellers to Koh Samui, more suitable for people who aren't there just for the nightlife of Chaweng.

perfect honeymoon destination! ”

We came to Koh samui for our honeymoon and outrigger was the perfect honeymoon destination! We loved our 2 week stay here, in particular the friendly staff who are always willing to assist above and beyond. The setting was clean, beautiful and the views amazing! We have already made plans to come back in the near future!

Luxury Hotel, Still Developing, Excellent Staff”

Excellent small boutique hotel. Luxurious with very friendly staff. Private beach with white sand which is next to the swimming pools and restaraunts so the beautiful view is always visible. Excellent modern swimming pools and everything is kept highly organised with attention to detail on cleanliness and presentation throughout the hotel. Bad Points: Foilage is still young as hotel is relatively new so rooms with private pools are not strictly private. If you intend on being in the main tourist area (Chaweng) note the taxi fare of 350baht each way and the hotel only has one/two shuttle services each day which still cost 150baht per person. Overall, a nice quiet luxurious hotel, ideal for honeymooners or those looking for some relaxation on Koh Samui.

I can't wait to go back!!”

We stayed there for 6 days and 5 nites. The villa was exactly as it was in the website and it was lovely. I was in the small villa so there was no bathtub but the little pool outside was more important to us. Every nite after going out, is great to have the pool there for a dip. It really cools your down and very relaxing. Only wish was they could have built some bamboo around it like some other villas so it can be more private as people can see you when they walk pass your villa. We spend lots of time in the resort so we were always dining there. The restaurant staff are the best. They are always helpful and always have big smile. We loved the thai food and pizza. We had a seafood dinner by the beach and chef coco was kind enough to come out and greet us. That meal was so yummy n chef coco really did a great job and we enjoyed it so much, we were at the beach fm 6 to 10pm! We left on the 13 apr and it was the thai new year. The resort even provided the water guns by the pool and all of us had a blast shooting water at each other! Haven't have that much fun since I was 5!!! If u are there, u really should try their spa...is really tranquil and relaxing! The hotel was kind enough to provide us coupon on discount from food to spa...usually I'm not good at using coupon as most coupons are not for the service I want but Akaryn give discount on your meal and 50% discount on spa so is simple to use. The resort provide free shuttle to and from chewang. They also have free Pilate and yoga class on tue n sat morning respectively. Yes the beach is a bit rocky to walk on but the resort do provide diving shoes so u can borrow it if u want to walk out to the beach and swim. One thing was the cicada around the resort can get really loud...they even flew in my villa twice but once we called the staff, he came n caught it in no time (p.s he used his bare hand to catch it but he did not kill the cicada n released it right away).

My favourite in Koh Samui, Great design/room/spa”

It's my favourite among the 4 hotels I live in Koh Samui. The hotel is quiet, the room is comfortable with great design, Dvd player available for rent, private beach(though not good for swimming), excellent sunbathing area, comfortable spa,order-from-meal tasty breakfast Overall experience is excellent, the only drawback is the lack of view around the pool suite

Wonderful Experience”

The hotel is beautifully placed with wonderful and peaceful surroundings and all the hip and happening places in 5-10 minutes distance. They organise tours and travels and the rooms are to die for. The food is wonderful and a breakfast buffet is sumptuous and keeps you full. The staffs are wonderful and helpful and the view is the one to remember forever. if you are visiting samui for a peaceful time out, then Outrigger is the place to be.

Great location for honeymoon/romance trip”

Although it may seem expensive in the beginning, you will never regret you chose this hotel when travelling to Koh Samui. Staff was very friendly and it has great surroundings such as beaches. You can also book activities right at the front and they will arrange everything for you (e.g. ride to the activity site, etc). They also offer wide variety of food.

Fantastic hotel, great staff”

Relaxing, comfortable and service 5star! I had booked a number of rooms at the Akaryn for my wedding guest. 10 in total. The staff were always on had to help and did so with genuine smiles. The steak house served up excellent steak although the sides were a little disappointing. We ate most of our meals at the sea dance next door as they served a tasty curry! I was a little disappointment with the selection on the room service menu, no deserts and a limited selection. Breakfast was really good and they serve a great cocktail. Overall everyone enjoyed thier stay at the Akaryn and Looked forwarded to returning when in Koh samui. Location was perfect we wanted to be outside of the husle busle of chaweng and as most of our guest hired scooters, they were less than 10 mins away. Great hotel, a must stay highly recommended.

Gorgeous resort and facilities with friendly staff”

Akaryn is a beautiful resort and the friendly service makes it that much better. If you're willing and able to spend a little more for a romantic experience, I would recommend it. We stayed here for two nights after travelling through Thailand staying at in hotels in the $40-100 range. This is quite a step up, but you get a lot for your buck. We stayed in the pool villa and LOVED it. It was nice to have the privacy of our own pool, although the hotel pool was incredible. The facilities are clean and beautiful so it was a very relaxing stay. The private beach is very nice, although not great for snorkeling - which wasn't important to us at this point. The hotel provides free snorkel gear, kayak, and probably more that we didn't see. No need to check anything out, you just grab it and go. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Their English is very good, especially at the front desk, so I'm sure any special requests can be easily met. My only qualm is the food wasn't great. I thought at such a spectacular resort, their food would be exceptional. Their pizzas are good, though we didn't go to Thailand to eat what we can find at home. Their breakfast was a very good deal, although nothing tasted all that great - even though they give you a ton of it. They have an extensive cocktail list and a fully stocked bar of top shelf liquor, but the bartenders abilities for a good craft cocktail aren't great. I could be a snob in this area so if you're looking for a basic mojito, you will likely be satisfied. Our favorite part of our stay was the "spa buffet". For THB 3,000, you can pick from the list of treatments for 2.5 hours. You can find massages in Thailand for a lot less of course, but this was an ultimate spa treatment that would cost five times as much in the US. If you're looking to relax and experience something memorable with your significant other, I highly recommend splurging and going this route.

A perfect place to relax and escape from the world”

We stayed for 10 nights and could not fault the resort as a whole. It is a perfect place to escape the world. If you plan on not wanting to move too far from the seclusion of your bungalow and only want to relax then Akaryn is the place to stay in Koh Samui. There are language barriers as you can expect in any foreign country but overall a tranquil and wonderful place.

Almost perfect”

My stay at Akaryn was relaxing and rejeuvenating. The spa treatments were sooo good for massaging away tension. The food was excellent - I ate no better anywhere else in Koh Samui. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My villa, the gardens and the pool area were beautifully maintained. My only complaint was that it was impossible to swim in the sea because of the stones and rocks in the water, however I would recommend this resort to everybody.

Secluded getaway ”

This is a lovely play to stay with genuinely helpful staff. It is in a quiet area of Koh Samui ( a big plus as much if Koh Samui isn't quiet). The rooms are lovely and the food was great.

Amazing, Loved it! ”

Pool villa was amazing, staff and restaurant were excellent. We didn't even venture out of the complex because we loved it so much. Luxury, wish we had booked Outrigger for our whole time in Samui!
