"I chose Floral Hotel this time because the hotel I regularly stay in - Hotel Selesa - is being rebuilt. And I chose it over TS Scientex as it had WiFi whereas Scientex didn't, a deal breaker for me. The hotel is located in Taman Cendana and not exactly Kota Masai as the address indicates. It's a very industrial area, not much in the way of anything. There are food stalls hawking street food on the driveway outside, and a "restaurant" of sorts in the corner which has good local food, so eating isn't an issue. There are shops selling a variety of things like jamu, car accessories, Chinese medicine, women's headscarves, and a "mini-mart" of sorts. Because of the locale, the ability to speak Malay will be a definite advantage. When I arrived, there was no one at Reception and I had to call to find out where she was (buying her dinner!). It took about 10 minutes for her to appear. Check-in was relatively fuss-free although there was an additional RM$30 tax (RM$10 per night) and RM$50 deposit that wasn't mentioned in the hotel listing. The RM$50 deposit is refunded when you check out. The room is quite spacious but there is no desk to work on - just a bed, a side table, a chest of drawers and two rails to hang your clothes. The plus side is that linen is changed upon request, clean towels are provided daily and the water heater actually works! The only complaints I have are (1) the WiFi was intermittent throughout the three days I was there and disappeared completely on the last night; and (2) the room I was in faced the main road, was rather noisy and had a faint smoky smell. Transport isn't an issue, since both Grab and Uber drivers respond to your call within minutes. If you are not the fussy sort, this hotel is a good bet."

"Requested 2 rooms side by side (grown up daughters) but when check in the reception told us she was unaware of our requirement even though we also stated in the booking and arrangement by phone with OYO customer service. Luckily we were given a side by side ground floor or else will have to climb up the stairs and stayed apart with our daughters. Thumbs up to the Auntie receptionist who accommadated our request but thumbs down to the customer service. Rooms ok only with basic necessities without windows and satellite tv only ghostly viewed tv1, tv2, tv3. No wifi n phone signal. Beware of mosquitoes that will sneak inside your room. Asked for spray from yr friendly reception if needed. Hotel is still new so no dramas, wait until few more years like many new hotels ended up. Maintained yr friendliness and cleanliness or else many will shy away. TQ"
