The Westin Siray Bay Resort & Spa (SHA Extra Plus)
Phuket Town,Phuket Town - View on map
"We stayed in a Sala Pool Villa and Superior Sea View on separate days, and the facilities in both are fantastic. The pool villa has less privacy that I would have liked (next to a pathway, pool is next to entrance to room), but the view over the bay was truly fantastic! For the difference in price, we feel that the Sea View is adequate, though reaching the rooms is a bit of a hike. The resort is fantastic overall, and we will likely return if we come back to Phuket. I wouldn't recommend the resort to those with accessibility concerns and/or strollers owing to the terrain. Breakfast is expensive if not included in the rate, and the restaurants are certainly a bit more expensive than in the city. Cocktails are well mixed, and service was excellent everywhere that we went. Room service isn't unreasonably expensive, and service is quick. It is important to note, however, that the beach is not very nice and serves more as a scenic touch than as a useful swimming area. At low tide (mid-afternoon), the beach is mostly mud. The resort is quite secluded, though the hotel has an inexpensive shuttle into two major shopping areas (alternating days) if you want to get out and about. Taxi service to Phuket Town is also an option, at 400 Baht per direction."

Royal Phuket City Hotel (SHA Extra Plus)
Phuket Town,Phuket Town - View on map
"Seems it is the best 3-4 star hotel in Phuket Town. It have 19/F and should be the landmark of Phuket Town, so you can find it easily. The breakfast is in 19/F cafe which offer standard breakfast and I really like the city + sea view. The swimming pool + gym is good too. I like the most is that the staff attitude. They will provide good advise and even help me to print my next hotel information (of course free). It does not like other Thailand hotel which the staff is usually lazy."

The Royal P Hotel Phuket (SHA Plus+)
Phuket Town,Phuket Town - View on map
"We stayed at Royal P for 3 nights in a Triple Guest room. The room came with 1 king size bed and a(I would called) king single bed. The room was massive! We could fit another single bed in there if we wanted too. It has a small kitchen with a big refrigerator! It also had an induction cooker plate, with plates and cutlery, a sink and shower room adjacent to the kitchen was big, clean and new. Windows all around kitchen section and a glass sliding door to balcony. We stayed on 6th floor so we had a nice view of Phuket Town and mountains around. There was 24hr reception. Also enough parking space if you have your own car. Oh! They don’t have a room service but there are plenty of local restaurants and convenient stores around. You won’t have a phone set in your room neither. But that didn’t bother us since we all got a mobile phone. We had a rental car so we didn’t know how easy to get a local transportation. But we definitely recommend this place unless you want to be close to the touristy area or next to beaches."

Pattra Mansion by AKSARA Collection (SHA Plus+)
Phuket Town,Phuket Town - View on map
"This hotel is located in Phuket Town just across the street from Rang Hill. For the price, in my opinion, it is the best deal anywhere in Phuket assuming you have you own transportation. Your about 5 minutes from Central Festival shopping mall and movie theater. You're also only about a 15-20 minute from Patong beach (a good safe distance, haha). The pool is a great place to relax and it's a good place to base yourself if you plan on seeing sites all over Koh Phuket."

PRIME TOWN - Posh & Port Hotel PHUKET (SHA Plus+)
Phuket Town,Phuket Town - View on map
"New hotel bear Festival Central mall in centre of Phuket. I got price under $20 as soft opening deal. Only Opened late January 2020. Set back from main road so quiet. Spacious room nice design with tiny balcony overlooking pool or surroundings. There was problems with my air con but staff quickly sorted. Good soundproofing but can hear noisy guests arriving at night. Awoken by banging from construction work on above floors. I asked if I could get later check out but wasn’t granted. Design is good apart from some weird stuff from lobby to lifts down steps. And floor in rooms already looks marked. There is a 7-eleven across the main road. Some places nearby and about 5 mins to vast mall. "

More about Phuket Town

Much of the Phuket City Center area is home to quaint cafés, tiny printing shops, and private and public museums. Popular attractions include Phuket Butterfly Garden and Insectarium, Phuket Orchid Garden and Thai Village, where visitors can enjoy folk dances, Thai boxing and elephant shows.

The Old Town (Dibuk, Krabi and Thalang Roads) is lined with ornate shophouses and beautiful colonial Sino-Portuguese mansions built by Chinese tin barons over a century ago. Visitors exploring the area on foot can also take in a number of nearby Chinese shrines, such as Put Jaw and Jui Tui, near the fresh market.

A spectacular view of the city, jungle and sea, can be enjoyed from the top of Khao Rang, a hill on the city’s northwest edge. A couple of good restaurants are located here, and visitors can take in the view with a delicious meal. There are a number of diverse dining options throughout the city, and establishments cater to locals and expats, as opposed to tourists. Nightlife is similarly oriented towards locals.

There area has several department stores, and a number of boutiques and small galleries along Thalang, Yaowarat and Phang Nga roads selling antiques, ceramics and paintings. Phuket Night Bazaar also sells locally-made handicrafts, and a weekend market opposite Wat Naka has endless stalls with the cheapest of Thai souvenirs.

While the range of accommodation options is slightly limited, hotel rates in the city are less than near the beaches, and songthaews provide inexpensive access to the rest of the island. An abundance of motorcycle taxis and tuk-tuks also make getting around the city easy. Visitors can also catch a ferry from Rassada Pier to Koh Phi Phi, Rai Leh, or any of the surrounding islands.
