Where to stay in Höfuðborgarsvæði
Höfuðborgarsvæði hotels & accommodations

Hotel is located along a stretch of road filled with restaurants, bars, shops, supermarket etc. Check-in was fast and the room that I was in was very clean and bed was comfortable. The front staff are all very friendly and helpful. I would have asked them a 100 questions and all were answered to their best abilities. Hard Rock Cafe is located just around the corner ...

The hotel has the best kitchen where we have never spent before. It was just 10-15 mins for walking to the center. Toilet was not our room, but it was still clean. Especially, we love the kitchen! The kitchen was equipped fully, so we were able to cook many meals. We will stay at this hotel if we have another chance to comeback to Iceland.

Capital Inn is located a short distance by car from downtown Reykjavik-for that matter everything is! Within two miles or so from a large mall, has abundant parking. My room which shares a central living space, kitchen and bathroom with two other rooms was spotless, I would even go ahead and state that it was an example of Nordic chic! One enters the apartment throu...

While I personally like the stylish design of the hotel its dim lighting might not suit everyone’s taste. Room appeared to be smaller than I thought. Could have add a few more hooks around the bathroom. Breakfast selection was good but I guess they don’t change much? Last day was a bit of trouble to everyone though coz it was the first day of Union Strike, when we went...

location is easy, just a few minutes from the downtown area and just off the main highway with public transit out front. Libby is clean and modern, with a computer for guest to use, pamphlets and drinks at the bar. adjacent is the breakfast area. out room was on the 5th floor with a balcony and view of the harbour. beds were very comfortable, 2 pillows and individual q...

Everything was amazing in this Hotel, best location surrounded with restaurants, 5 minutes walk to the sea , very professional and helpful staff, they actually go out of their way to help you in anything you need, spacious room with fully equipped kitchenette, nice amenities and mini bar items, complimentary Juice, milk, coffee, tea, corn flex & one bottle of mineral...

this is a 2 star hotel/hostel only 10mins away on foot from the bsi bus station. also it is only 5mins away from halgrimskirkja church and 15mins from the city centre. so it has excellent location and the price is fine when you have in mind the price of accommodation in reykjavik. beds were comfortable, it was warm, clean and the breakfast was also ok. would stay there...

We loved Canopy by Hilton in Reykjavik city center. The location was truly perfect. It was my second time to Reykjavik and my husband’s first. We both agreed the location was fantastic- easy walk to the best shopping and dining in Reykjavik (and, of course the church, Harpa and the Old Harbor) Parking in the garage across the street was very reasonable and convenient. ...

Our stay at hlemmur square was amazing!! We were there for our honeymoon, and it was the best! Located just right in front of bus stop no.10, so any pick up and drop off was super convenient. Had a few good eateries nearby, our fave was the noodle station. Supermarket just 5 mins walk away. Room amenities were sufficient! But just there wasn’t any heater in the room as...

This hotel was very cheap to be in one of Europes capitals. The best value for money we have had any places. Even in Deluxe room. We got picked up every morning for the days excusions, so the location did less matter. Very close to official thermal swimming pools, only 5 minutes walk.Very quiet and clean. We will definitely stay hear next time we go to Iceland.

we booked a 2 night stay. our flight arrived early and we picked up our rental car and drove straight to the peace hotel. since it is away from the city centre parking is right at the front door and is free. make sure you have a google map to find the place. piotr was there to greet us and gave us a key so we were able to check in at 9:00 am. he showed us our room, the...

Radisson 1919 boasts perhaps the finest location in Reykjavík, right in the centre of town in the thick of things. Yet it is quiet enought and shielded from the loud revelry in the main square Austurvöllur on weekend nights. Certainly great for a stay of a few days. But 8 days felt a bit too long to be climbing up out of what is basically a space-theme-like futon-box with a built-in media center, mirror, and blue lights. Mattress was a bit too hard for my personal liking, but for a short stay should pose no problems to the younger generations. Staff was awesome, able to help and set up...

We hope to travel to Iceland again and when we do, we will stay at Hotel Laxnes. The staff is so very helpful and make the visitor feel welcome and comfortable. There is a lovely old pub on site (from the 1800s, I believe) and it is a peaceful spot for conversation at the end of a busy day. The view from the second floor is fantastic. This hotel is conveniently locat...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Baldursbrá Guesthouse. The walk to Hallgrímskirkja, the waterfront, and Laugavegur is pleasant and short, easy to take in all of the main spots in Reykjavik. The room was clean and comfortable, and our hosts were helpful and inviting. They called for a taxi for us on our departure. We loved the two friendly little dogs there too!

Very clean apartment with lots of space ( bedroom, sitting room, kitchen) . Well situated with short walk into central part of town, with lots of restaurants nearby. Only drawback I might mention is that if you are on one of the upper floors you might have to carry your luggage up 2-3 floors. If that is not an issue, I would recommend. Self check in , self check...

Slightly higher priced hotel in Iceland, so with slightly more expectation. Have to go through a small stretch of gravel road to reach the Hotel. We found it using Google Maps GPS. We took 2 rooms with attached toilet, 1 have a nice view, the other one facing the side(no view). Quiet place and nice atmosphere, thus is still worth the money if you are not in the rush ...

This was the cheapest accommodation we could find (which is still extremely expensive because it's Iceland), but it didn't disappoint in any way. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need, and the common room is stylish and cozy - even the piano there was properly tuned! And the staff was really flexible and helpful when we asked for anything at all.

The hotel is well located in downtown Reykjavik. The staff was courteous and helpful. Our room was large and clean. There was an noticeable sulfur smell when using the hot water, but that's to be expected with geothermally heated water. The breakfast offerings were the best among other guesthouses and hotels we have visited in Iceland. Overall a good, albeit expensiv...

We enjoyed our stay at the Baron. This is a simple, basic hotel that fullilled our needs. The location is great, close to many dining options. Our only complaint relates to a statement on the hotel's website that says the Flybus stops outside. This is not quite true, the Flybus does not stop at the hotel unless the hotel dropoff/pickup option is chosen when booking a t...

We arrived around 10-30am and our rooms were ready. Check in was very efficient and the staff good and friendly. Our room was on the 4th floor. It was clean, warm and with plenty of storage. The bathroom was fine but with a very small triangular shower fortunately its was powerful. Breakfast is good but with the smaller cups you can imagine for coffee and tea, and onl...

Very nice value. The rooms are on the small side, but they are in all of the hotels in Iceland. The included breakfast was a nice bonus. A friend stayed at a neighboring hotel that cost twice as much per night and did not come with breakfast. Food is expensive in Iceland so this helped my budget a lot. There are a lot of decent restaurants in the area that are within ...
