Where to stay in Jammu and Kashmir
Jammu and Kashmir hotels & accommodations

There are very few best hotels in Srinagar, Lalit is one of them. It is a bit far from the local markets but people who wants to stay away from the busy crowd/market, this hotel is meant for you. I liked every thing about this hotel and I will always recommend this property to my near ones.

As I reached the hotel after 3 hours driving , my room was on the 5th floor and guess what as I enter the room there wasn’t any light But then my room was upgraded and I got a bigger room with a bath tub and pool view The spa is just amazing , got feet reflexology done twice and rear everything was nice apart from breakfast which they can improve upon

hotel is clean, staff is well behaved but hotel is slightly away from the market and there is a really steep slope to reach the hotel. The hotel should at least provide free rides within 1 km of the area or at least from reception to main gate. Else all was fine. Slightly overpriced as well. It is a renovated hotel and at many places the patch job isnt that great. Howe...

Hosptiality of staff was very warm. Food is tasty. we got good welcome drink when we reached there and view from hotel was very good. Location is good but only point is it is far from main market (3.5km) but local cab (sumo) can be used for transportation (10inr/perperson).

Located right across a field of lush meadows is Vintage — a modern hotel with generous-sized rooms and all amenities required including 24x7 hot water, heating, kettle for making tea (yes they have green tea too), sleek bathroom fittings and decent views. Once again the staff was courteous and warm and ensured we had a comfortable stay. The rooms are spacious enough to...

It is a very well known hotel in Katra, hence easy to reach. Staff is very cooperative. Room was clean. Location of the hotel is bit isolated. Its near by the market but there is around a distance of 200 m which is very isolated hence we preffered to take an auto while going to the market. View of the mountains from my room was very eye soothing. Overall a very nice st...

Except for the location, which is very bad, right in the middle of Bus Terminus, Lords Inn can be categorized Excellent in almost all areas. Prices of eatables in room service menu are quite high, rather prohibi...

Staying on the Mascot Houseboat was a most enriching experience. The location by the quiet and tranquil Nageen Lake with traditional boats and surrounded by high green hills made it easy to unwind. I got a good deal on Agoda for executive suite room. Room was very spacious and had a bath tub. Breakfast was excellent. Staff was very cooperative. The hotel is just in front of Jammu Railway station. But food is very very expensive. better eat outside.

Nice interior lobby rooms elevator Near railway station Away from market but hotel staff courteous to arrange auto Hotel helped arrange Innova taxi for drop to jammu railway station The helped us arrange early breakfast at 7:00 am since our helicopter ride was early in morning They also packed dinner for train

To start with, it was an excellent stay at New Golden. Mr. Yaqub/Owner is terrific person and can be your guide not only in srinagar but also whole of kashmir. His brother was also equally attentive and helpful. Some may say that it is at Nagin Lake so away from market. But believe me, for market, you spend 2-3 hours but other time u need to relax, enjoy nature, calmnes...

I would stay here again. I recommend it as the best hotel in Jammu. The price is better than for lesser hotels, and the accommodations better than higher hotels. The staff was very exceptional, and helpful, and friendly. They made sure all our needs were met, and above. They served a fruit plate every day. Had as much water as we needed to drink. This hotel had everyth...

we had an amazing experience staying on this unique houseboat, that is charming and traditional, with all the beautiful carved wood. Riaz organised our shikara ride around lake in the afternoon, provided cosy blankets too as it was winter time. Diaz was very informative and honest and we wish him the best. please support Kashmir as its beautiful :)

Mr Feroz and his family are really awesome and honest people. You can rely on Mr Feroz as he won't rip you off. To him, your satisfactory is his priority. It was very unfortunate that Jammu&Kashmir was on a strike and I can't see a lot of things. However, Feroz make sure that I at least see something in Srinagar. I had such a memorable time in Srinagar largely owe to h...

As per its name suggests, hotel royal krishna perfectly sticks to its commitment completely. Located on quiet Nigeen Lake, from this houseboat we enjoyed many serene mornings with stunning views of the mountains reflected on the placid water. There a two houseboats, one "family style" with common areas and rooms rented individually, and a second, 2 bedroom/2 bath boat for private rentals. The larger boat is pictured. The smaller boat is not as nicely decorat...
Cheap places to stay in Jammu and Kashmir

Lonely guest house was wonderful from the beginning to the end of our stay. We stayed for three nights and we were looked after completely. The food was delicious and the staff organisation of taxis for tours was extremely smooth and easy. This hostel is great value for money and the atmosphere is very welcoming and familiar. I will definitely come back next time I am ...

This is the best hotel of my trip in India, the staff (Umar) is very friendly. He even waiting for me to cross the lake to the hotel at very cold night (in winter!) at Ghat no 15. It was a fantastic experience living in the Zaindari Houseboat. Both father and son Inran were so welcoming that they dis not make you feel like a stranger. I wanted internet and Inran immediately offered his handphone to be used as a hotspot, absolutely free. Aside frm the cheap price, you will truly have a good houseboat experience and the Kashmiri hospitality.

I like the way they lead us the main attractions in Jammu & Kashmir. As a first timer here in Kashmir, I thought that there're very helpful in planning our tours around this area. On top of that, they never lie about things, they're are not opportunist that like to take advantage of tourist but they're really honest. 👍🏻

The owner and staff and family were very kind and helpful. The accommodation is basic and the location noisy with tour shikaras going by all the time. The hotel room on the second floor is more private. The special vegetarian food was very good. As always we make a note of what charges per day and confirm with the owners on houseboats - so there is no misunderstan...

They need to elevate themselves on 'customer dealing' & 'customer care'. Frequent power failure was there & their definition of breakfast is 'only bread-butter & tea'! In fact first few days they even denied that breakfast was not part of our booking! All the best

I was really surprised to meet such a paradise in noisy Katra. Very quite and peaceful location, fantastic mountain view from the window, nice food - fresh and tasty, spacey room, very helpful and highly professional staff, great management. I was extremely happy to spend 5 days in Devi Mahal and i recommend it to everybody.

Mr Feroz and his family are really awesome and honest people. You can rely on Mr Feroz as he won't rip you off. To him, your satisfactory is his priority. My stay at the Persian Houseboats has been an awesome experience. The boat owner Mr. Zahoor is a pleasant man and a great host. He arranged our tour to all the attractive destinations in Kashmir. Mr. Abdul, the caretaker has been professional. He took good care of us. I will highly recommend this houseboat to everyone. I will definitely stay there again when i'll ...

What can I say. A stay in a Srinagar houseboat is one to remember. And Adil's houseboat was perfectly maintained, comfortable, charming and well located away from the noise of the traffic and close to the little shops that are dotted along the inner part of Dal Lake. I paid c $17 per night and although I would have preferred if the cost of the gas heater in the room wa...

We only spent $10 on this room, and I think it was worth it. The place is kind of weird, the rooms are sort of in this indoor/outdoor courtyard and it's hard to tell if people are living there along with hotel guests. It was a little loud, but the fan was very loud so it drowned out the sound at night. The staff was nice, I especially appreciate when they let you check...

Tariq and his family was awesome, we really enjoy our one night stay, and hope we will come back very soon on Spring / Summer. Thank you for sharing story, and how to cook Kashmir Traditional Food. Place was amazing, located in peaceful area, you can easily find the place (of course via Shikara which is standby near Gate), they also provide Rent-Shikara to get around...

We booked iram boathouse and asked them to provide us airport transfer a night before our arrival. They helped us all the way with prompt reply. We had good chat with Mr fayaz, his daughter and Mr Mudasir. Warmth greetings, excellent food, convenient stay, totally coming back!

We were provided a different houseboat which was not the one I booked for. The name was Balmoral castle. On enquiry they said that it was their sister concern. Although the hospitality was excellent we were not provided with wifi as promised during booking which was dissapointing. Otherwise a great stay at budget prices.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights. The roonms are clean, have all the necessitiesvsuch as gesiur. Though rooms are smaller in size. The location is best, 800 meter from railway station abd 500 meter from city centre. The staff was very hospitable abd breakfast was yummy.

We were at the Hotel Raghunath for 4 days. The entire core of the hotel was being replaced; paint, floors, etc, so there were tarps and paint dust all over the place. Certain things were finished, such as the bathroom, which was marble and functional, if you could find out what button to push for hot water. The new lobby and reception will be impressive and work is goi...

We deeply enjoyed our stay at the Imy Homestay. Imy and his family welcomed our family warmly and treated us like part of their family. They showered our little daughter with attention and kind affection. The food was excellent, and the Kashmiri tea was so SO tasty. The location is near Nigeen Lake which is more quiet, and less touristy than Dal Lake. Imy and his ...

This B&B is more like a Homestay and operated by a very hospitable and accommodating family. It is large attractive home with 3 stories where 3 married brothers and their wives and children along with their parents share this home. They have a nice veranda on the second floor where you can chill out with a nice cup of tea. I also had 2 wonderful dinners which had a goo...

Got exactly what was advertised on the site. Great location. Hospitality and comfort was great, making us feel very much at home. Dishes prepared on demand were of exceptional standard, and even better than those on offer in the best restaurants in Srinagar. No hidden charges!with free wifi access it makes everything easy

Our booking was on day we were suppose to stay, but after reaching Jammu, city was closed and we couldn’t reach katra, so I called manager sushmaji, she immediately help us to switch over our booking for next day, we appreciate her prompt service, after reaching next day early morning we had little breakfast as we were going for darshan at bhavan, in the evening after ...

Room is clean and spacious, though could do with thicker comfy pillows. Food was decent, mostly indian food, with occasional western dishes. Service at the restaurant was good. Hotel owners are very personal, one of whom (younger) greeted us at the dining area during our dinner and spoke to us after that. Next, we saw the older hotel owner (likely his Dad) just outsi...

This hotel had a clean, spacious, nicely decorated and quiet room with good amenities, I appreciated that I could control the heat to my liking in the room as well as the ample hot water. What made the stay outstanding, however was the staff who always went out of their way to make the stay comfortable. I can't say enough about the excellent personal care the gene...

We wanted something different than the houseboat experience for this trip and the lemon tree was perfect. It is a relatively new hotel as it is a heritage hotel completely remodeled. The rooms have VERY comfortable beds, and great bathrooms. The breakfast buffet is scrumptious and the omelette s are delicious.

The hotel was great. It have a huge room, hot blanket, and well decirated room. The staff was amazingly helpful. The food quite tasty and come with big potion. Only the heater is not function but they replace it with portable one. The car could not access this hotel since heavy snow covered this hotel surrounding.

The hotel is certainly not a convenient distance from the Dal Lake which is the heart of the tourist activity. Polo View is nearby. A majority of Indians go to Kashmir for its cuisine While the fare on offer was reasonable, it was not Kashmiri and not in tune with the steep tariff. The front office staff was indifferent to guest comfort as was housekeeping. The towels ...

If you are looking at this hotel with a view to stay at Pahalgam, look no further. This hotel was the best part of my holiday. We had a great stay at the Atrium. We stayed 2 nights as we visited Vaishno Devi. We had multiple meals there. Food was always fresh and delicious. Service all through the hotel was impeccable. I believe the houseboat itself is one of the best in Dal/Nageen Lake, it is a proper 'A' class houseboat with proper heating and it is essential during winter. However, the heater in my room was not working during my stay and the owner took extra effort to explain to me. It was a let down though because it is very cold during my stay and I was unable to bath. However, ...

So happy that I chose sukoon houseboat for my short time in Srinagar. The staff and room were great as was the food choice and ability to provide an alternative to what was listed on the menu. Wonderful hotel overlooking Dal Lake in Srinagar. The best feature of the hotel was its position on the mountain above the city of Srinagar and its surroundings. My pet peeve is that I don't feel a 5-star hotel should charge for Wifi access; it just seems too petty. Other than this and an accident the laundry had with a pair of trousers of mine, the stay was very comf...
