There is so much to say about the My Dream Resort, warm welcome from the manager when we arrived she was very nice making sure all our needs were met. Hotel with a feeling of home, nice clean rooms, quite location, just a 3 minutes walk to the local vegetables and fruits market where you can get a feeling how Lao people live, i had the best coconuts from a shop where a...
I'm travelling with my 6 years old girl as our last trip to visit asian country before we leave souh east asia for good. As regular traveler and use to spoil with 5/6 star hotel, I'm very happy choosed to stay at Villa Maly after listening to our friends experienced staying with them. Being a platinum/diamond member of several International 5 star hotels, my expectati...

What a relaxing stay - we had the resort virtually to ourselves. Great mountain and village views from our terrace. In and outside day beds, big bath, simple uncluttered decor. Complimentary shuttle service and bikes. Cooked to order breakfast. I had based part of my selection of the hotel from it's website stating it had a gym & steam room - these have not yet be...
We needed to get away for a weekend, Xiengthong Palace gave us the cream on top of our Luang Prabang visit. The hotel and it’s room conditions are very good with relaxing environment, we got the 1st floor river view room from the balcony seats gave us some river view between many street trees. We rented the hotel’s bamboo bicycles for a day thus it took us only 5 minut...
We have visited Luang Prabang once before and love the peace and tranquillity. This year we decided to spend 2 months in SE Asia with 2 weeks in LP. I booked this hotel online. It was a bit over our- low - budget but we decided to treat ourselves. We could not have been happier. The staff were excellent. There was always someone available if we had a need or problem an...
Great hotel, brand new and got room for excellen price. Clean, modern, comfortable beds, best shower pressure (so nice after spending all day swimming at the waterfalls!). Girl on front desk needs a little more experience in tourism, but owners (who live upstairs) speak excellent English and are very helpful with every need, my son was sick for 24hrs and they were offe...
we initially only booked into maison dalabua for 2 nights but extended our stay to 7 nights because it was so great. halfway through our stay we moved from a standard room (which was still much larger than most!) to a deluxe room which was beautiful and even bigger. both rooms were stylishly furnished, had comfortable beds, were serviced every day and, like the rest of...
where to start with satri house? the cobbled pathway overhung with bamboo leading to a painted grey gate which in turn opens onto a little courtyard where we were graciously received despite our dishevelled appearance and probably quite stinky state (we'd come directly from riding elephants out of town)and offered a refreshing rosella drink in the beautiful library, lo...

We had 7 nights in Maison Souvannaphoum in a Garden Wing room, and thought it was excellent. The rooms are nicely set out, very comfortable bed, and a lovely balcony overlooking the gardens with an overhead fan. The staff were all very friendly and super helpful (including lending us some plates and cutlery one night to eat food we brought back from the nearby Night ...
After all review, i booked this hotel which i think was one of the few best place in my life. Staff are well-known about how to run Hotel business. Room are clean, bed is turn down every night. We were only able to stay here one night while in LP because they were booked up, but our experience was great. The room itself was very nice, and the bed was one of the most comfortable we've had the pleasure to sleep in, hard to find a good bed in SE Asia--we loved this one! The balcony was nice with cool, comfortable chairs and a view of the garden and lotus pond. B...
This hotel is excellent value! We got 5 star service for a fraction of the price. When we arrived, we were immediately upgraded to the royal suite even though we had booked the cheapest option of a deluxe room. I think this is because being July it was rainy season and so there weren't that many tourists. (we got no rain at all though!) the royal suite was amazing, the...
Stayed 4D/3N. A top 3-4 star lodging of choice which we gladly recommend. Reasons include: 1. Super location (walking distance to virtually all town locations) 2. Cold air conditioning in (clean) rooms and linens 3. Some of the best WiFi in Luang Prabang 4. Charming and helpful staff and service 5. Hot/cold water 6. Nice rooftop restaurant with great fruit and soda...
many of my friends had stayed here and raved about this luxury hotel, but i was always reluctant to stay at a self-contained resort outside of town because i so enjoy being in the centre of luang prabang. on this holiday my friend and i chose the best of both worlds -- three nights at the three nagas right in the centre followed by one night of total pampering at la re...
One of my all time favorite hotels. I loved the understated simple elegance everywhere, the absence of so much hotel paraphernalia and noise. I loved the old palace of Prince Phetsarath Ratavongsa, so beautifully turned into a museum to his memory (look for the photos of our hero with Ho Chi Minh and Zhou En Lai, and the fabulous view from his desk up the river). I lov...
This boutique hotel would have to be one of the best I have stayed in in Asia. The minute we walked into the room you could see it was luxury plus,we had separate lounge room an enormous bedroom and a state of the art bathroom, double shower, double vanity and a jacuzzi. I liked the location being just a 10 minute bicycle ride (bikes were free) or 5 minute shuttle bus r...
Few points, I booked the VIP room and I must say, it was opulent (in my opinion). Nice quiet surroundings, good bed, HUGE bathroom (you can hold a mini conference meeting in there) excellent facilities. Breakfast was good and staff were attentive and friendly. Hotel was centrally located yet peaceful, clean and very nicely done. Now the only two points I can say cou...
Arrival to this hotel was great. They picked us up from the airport, provided ice water and wet tissues, and really took care of us. When we got to the hotel (only 15 minutes) we saw how beautiful the location was. It's right across from the Mekong River and on the edge of the town. The hotel staff gave us a great run-down of places to eat, best times of the day to go ...
I booked a superior garden view and as soon as I arrived I was upgraded to a junior suite at no extra cost just because it was empty at the time. It was situated in lush gardens and my balcony overlooked the river which was perfect. The pool was awesome and the staff were so friendly and helpful.. My room itself had a super king sized bed with fresh white linen and the...
You will get very warn welcome at first by foot massage before check-in. Every staff really kind and helpful, especially Miss Pukky. Room is big and well decoration as good as its price. They always have activities for guest everyday, such as story telling, cooking class, dance. The location may quite far from main landmark but It's not the problem. They have shuttle ...
We love Angthong villa, it is the best hotel for us in Luang Phrabang, good location near the supermarket, near the center and nightmarket , 5 mins walk to Khong river, 10 mins walk to Khan river, big, clean and very beautiful room , nice and freindly staffs, lovely breakfast
staying at this hotel was the highlight of our trip. it is absolutely beautiful, and the staff are very helpful and nice and always there just when you need them. it has one of the nicest pools we have ever been in. the suites are in villas spaced around the grounds, and are very nicely done, with very high quality materials throughout. it feels very luxurious and uniq...
Stayed in 3 hotels (other 2 were four star hotels) in Luang Prabang and this is the best of them all in my opinion. Not only it is cheap, but the rooms are HUGE and very clean as well. The staffs are very friendly and polite and the breakfast is pretty tasty honestly. Location is also good and close to the old quarters and night market. I would stay here again if I vis...
GM and Room Division Manager are high calibre staff. I got an accident from walking at the night market with uncertainty levels of footpath. The staff looked after me very well. The Luangprabang Provincial Hospital has good doctors for efficient diagnosis, good medicines and well care with good money spent. It is with surprise and beyond our expectation. It is a cooler...
We stayed for four nights at the Jasmine with our three boys of 8, 6 and 3 and had a great experience. The location is perfect, just a five minute walk to the walking market and all of the cafes and restaurants. It is also on a road that the monks walk down for the alms ceremony in the morning. Possibly one of the best places to get unobtrusive photos is from the balc...
Cheap places to stay in Louangphabang
This is technical review to know what you should expect from sysomphone: Pros: 1. Behind other luxury hotel managed by same team; and they openly invited us to enjoy brilliant river view and other facilities in luxury hotel (like juice, POS, first aid) They provided us more than expected. free of charge tea, instant coffee, great pancake on break fast with milkshakes....
Without a doubt the best value for money in Laos. Location is perfect - right in downtown. All rooms have A/C and are comfortable. Plenty of toilets and showers. Free breakfast with 6 choices plus small serving of fruit. Free drinking water - only place in Laos I've seen that gives you free drinking water. Restaurant/chillout area on groundfloor sells cold large bottle...
Great cheap hostel. Don't book in advance as it is cheaper on arrival 45000kip for dorm bed. The price includes breakfast. It is clean and cleaned throughout the day. The dorm has a/c and you are given a lock for your locker under your bed which is large. There is a pool table. The hostel is in a quiet area but close to night market and river. The only minus is that th...
staff real friendly, help with places to go and local booking, short walk to night market. not overly crowded hostel. most all things with in walking distance or all tours from town pick you up at hostel or hotels always. nice quiet getaway from the party hostels
Me and girlfriend were recommended this hostel by a fellow traveller and we could'nt have been more happier! The whole place is beautifully decorated with bamboo and has a real homey feel to it. I would go as far as saying its one of the best hostels ive ever stayed in. The staff went above and beyond to help us. We booked a 3 day slowboat/minivan trip to Chiang Mai fr...
Y-Not hostel was great! Really! I was very fortunate to find such a great place at this affordable price! The hostel was very clean and perfectly comfortable! Kehn (the owner), worked in the hotel/hospitality business since he was 16 years old, moved his way up to management at a hotel, and now opened his own hostel! He put a lot of time and effort into Y-Not and his ha...
I booked for 2 nights and extended for 1 more night. My friend and I shared a room with 6 other travellers. Location of the hostel is about 10 minutes walk from the night market and many other popular places like Mount Phousi, alms giving location, Mekong river, Khan river and Utopia (a bar restuarant). Most importantly, it is quiet at night. Wifi is working fine. The ...
Great hostel very chilled... Comes with great breakfast and a pool which tbh is a god send in the hot weather... Everyone is super friendly and the place is relatively clean. Please please please lock any valuables away in a locker and keep locked at all times as someone stolen 15000 baht and 300 in British pounds from me and am very confident my locker was unlocked go...
This was by far one of my best accommodation experiences. The rooms are very clean, the hotel is in a perfect location, there is a great lounge area to meet other travelers, and the staff makes you feel like part of their family! Such a sweet family that owns this hotel. I want to go back to Luang Prabang just so I can stay here with them again! Highly recommend!!
the owner kan is a really cool guy who is very young and it seems like he caters to a younger crowd. he helped me with everything i needed from bargaining for soccer jerseys to booking tickets to vang vieng and riding elephants. he also had a bbq one of the nights we were there. my iphone was stolen in pakse and he alllowed me to use his computer and check my email and...
the owner was amazing and always there to help and socialise with all of us. He took us to the main waterfalls and anywhere we wanted to go at a really cheap rate and got involved with the activities. They were really helpful and treated us like family. Was a great place to meet other backpackers as was very sociable and dorms were clean and felt safe. Lockers avail...
We were promptly greeted by Kevin(" (manager) who told us to relax while he made us a drink- a banana shake- while he showed us a map of the popular tourist & local spots! We then checked into our room, it was VERY clean, comfortable bed and the best A/C! The location is a 10 minute walk to the night market, but they provide bicycles for FREE! The boss took us and a co...
The location is by the end of the main street a bit away from the main road but its still easy to go around just by walk. And because its away from the most busy area the room really quiet. The upper stairs with balcony is best. Free wifi, properly working. Nice advise for where to go for doing what. The price among the hotels is valuable. Highly recommend!!
Sometimes when I find a cheap hostel including breakfast, I am afraid to end up in a weird place. Here I was pleased and surprised for what I got ! Only drawbacks: They recently added two showers, it’s still not enough in my opinion but it’s ok if you wake up early enough. Multiple choices for breakfast, good pancakes ( 8.000kip if not included ). All day coffee and t...
I stayed for 6 days.Friendly staff,clean room,the best guesthouse in Luangprabang.
People are really lovely although don’t speak brilliant English. Location is perfect, short walk from the town center and right on the river. Really cheap and quality bedroom. Really hot shower which is sooo good!! Drinking water isnt easy facility to use mind.
The rooms are clean, spacious and carpeted - and the guesthouse is just a few steps to the main strip. I'd inadvertently double-booked the last night with another hotel (my bad) and was about to leave when the guy at the reception reminded me that I still had one more night booked. Very kind of management to agree to change the booking to later that week so I didn't lo...
Great stay overall if you book transportation from the guest house to somewhere (we were traveling to oudomxay) you might want get quotes from several other places to compare prices. We booked a mini bus (Note that a mini bus is NOT a minivan) tour to oudomxay for 100.000 kip / person thinking it is a mini van. The only english speaking staff member was not around, a...
Mercure Hideaway is a really nice place to stay. The rooms are large with high ceilings and comfy beds. We had a room facing the large pool and it was quiet and well appointed. the grounds are very plush and cocktails on the private beach for sunset are a must. The staff were pretty good and everything we asked about was dealt with promptly. We did not take tours with ...
shower in the room but toilet seperate which i prefered, cool theme didnt get the free breakfast because we had to leave 5am.. we booked this hotel 5 mins before turning up so they didnt really understand but nice rooms the vibe is amazing
because i want to experience different guest house in lp, so i have booked different accomodation, the villa muang swa guest house was the best price one. the guest house is a bit far from the old town, but it is not hard to find it, many of the host of other guset houses would able to tell u the location of the hotel, and it is located nearby the road to the waterfall...
We have kept coming back to this wonderful guesthouse, it is simply the best! All staff go out of their way to help in any way they can and are exceptionally friendly. They will book things for you without adding an extra charge! The rooms are very clean and beautifully presented, beds comfortable, shower hot and aircon cold. It's in a perfect quiet picturesque little ...
The staffs are super. They help you out. The location is best and quiet at night. During this time there are near by property under construction. I stayed in 2 queen size beds which also spacious. They provide free wifi. I am not happy with the bathroom but it is okay. The hot water is good. I would recommend you to stay here. If I come back, I will stay here.
we stayed there for a week. its cost kip for a night. rooms are ok , private bathrooms , very powerful shower. but we didnot like the fact you have walk througt every time the family living room and dinibg room to reach your own room. we saw lots of nice guesthouse just 2 streets down with bars and young pepole like us. most of cost less only . but this is cheape...
It's a very basic room, but you get hot water and decent wi-fi. It's not the cleanest place but still not filthy. Staff is nice and helpful. Location is good, close to many restaurants, however you do not have a view of the river. Best thing is the hammocks on the second floor. Ended up extending my stay by 3 days, will probably stay again if I get back to Nong Khiaw.
We paid USD 264.92 for 4 nights in a King Room with balcony (Rm 105). The shower here is to die for and looks over the Mekong (yes you can see out from the shower but are discretely covered 😊. Easily the best that I have had in my travels through Asia. I would come back here for that alone. The views from the room itself are outstanding. Amenities included hairdryer, ...
I stayed for 2 nights with a couple of friends and can only recommend this place. The rooms are clean and each have their own terasse with a hammock and an impressive view over the mountains. The swedish host and his lao wife speak the best english in town and help you to make the most out of your stay and know about all kind of activities in Mua Ngoy. Their travel t...

Don't be put off by this little gem being on the other side of the Naam to Walking Street. The staff will transfer you both ways (no charge ) until midnight and if you are out late thete's a bamboo walking bridge which you can use. The Hotel's staff are very professional and extremely helpful. The resturant is inviting and the waitress remembered where we sat every...
This hotel has an insanely big and beautiful room! You will feel like staying in 5 star hotel but paying for 1 star price. Beautiful garden and the morning market is just right next to this hotel. Same for night market.
Well, there is no Spa in this hotel despite the name. However, you should not missed this rare beauty, especially after you have spent some time in the hotel at the town center. Coming over to this side of the Meikong river really give you the feeling of staying in a heavenly place looking at Luang Prabang from the other side. Early morning breakfast is a must, wake u...
This is one of the best properties I have stayed as their service rendered is excellent. The room itself is wonderful too. Great view of the Mekong river right from our balcony. I had issues with my flight and could not make it on the day of my reservation, but Mr Chanh was nice enough to assist me with contacting agoda to amend my booking on my behalf. This really goe...
Sada Hotel only opened at the end of December 2012 and we were apparently the first Agoda booking they'd had, as we booked the day the hotel appeared on the site! The room was very comfortable and tastefully furnished, everything in the room from the bed to the chairs to the intricate bedhead to the floors and stairs had been beautifully handmade by local craftsmen. ...
I booked this hotel online because it was one of the less expensive options at $80 US/night. I was picked up from the airport and take them to the property which was a beautiful sprawling complex. Amazing pool tucked in the hills. Part of the property gave way to private villas which I saw and were just splendid. My room was located on the second floor overlooking...
Had no real probs but some mornings the breakfast was cold. And sometimes the hot water run out. Def not 4 star. Lao is a little more expensive than we thought but loved Luang Prabang. You can do it cheap if you want. Great baguettes (with great fillings) for 10 000 kip on the Main Street. And off the Main Street when the night markets are on, you can pay 5...
The Sanakeo Boutique in Luang Prabang is one of the best hotels I have stayed at in a long time. The hotel is well run, clean, in a great location (it is only a short tuk tuk ride away from the main part of town), has great facilities (loved the pool), and the service was amazing too. From the moment I was picked up from the airport to the moment I was departing from L...
We have stayed in Mekong Estate 5 nights from 8th to 13th December 2017 and it was unforgettable experience. The place is colonial style separate houses and apartments directly on Mekong river side. The place respects the Luang-Prabang colonial style and the location with fantastic view on Mekong river creates authentic atmosphere. The breakfast is served “a la carte” ...
We loved this hotel for many reasons. The location was ideal- in the central part of town only 1 block from the night market and an easy walk to the museum, the steps to Mt Phousi, the restaurants and bars along the river, and many of the Wats. The hotel resembled more a converted mansion with high ceilings and beautiful entrance ways, etc. Our room was large and clean...
Excellent 20 rooms hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Large, very clean and nicely decorated rooms with private balcony, private safe, etc. Good quality buffet breakfast (if enough guests). Nice and clean outdoor pool with sunbeds; pool-towels provided by hotel. Excellent and fast WiFi connection for free. Although situated a bit out of the city center, it ...
I'm happy we stayed there, first off. But there were some glaring oddities/negatives that could easily be fixed for future guests. We booked a standard room (no balcony) only because the rooms with balcony did not offer a double/queen, only 2 singles. However, upon arrival, the standard room was boxed in with no view or sunlight (main building is 5 feet from the window...
Best staff (Tui in particular) & hospitality ever, definitely 5 stars; swam everyday in the beautiful swimming pool overseeing old French bridge n river; used their free bikes for sightseeing. They provide 4-5 shuttles everyday to night market. Guests normally ate out but the food in restaurant n poolside was excellent n reasonably priced.

It was actually house. But I got to say it is way more better than five star hotel. I have been Laos last year also, and I stayed really expensive hotel. But this villa is another level. A new gem has been found. Located 10 minutes drive from town, close but not to far, the landscape of the resort is ideal, with a small river and waterfall running through. Room design and decoration are jaw dropping. Laotian food is very tasty and price affordable. This resort has set new high standard for luxury resort in Luang Prabang.
