Where to stay in Norðurland Eystra
Norðurland Eystra hotels & accommodations

I was a female solo traveller with a big big suit case. Friendly staffs are helpful for tours. Great Location (actually Akureyri is a very small town!), there is a hot dog cafe right in the corner. the bad thing is that the bathroom in their basement... that was quite tired when I return to hostel from a northern light tour. very clean room, and bathroom.

The entrance is at the back of the building. Our room was on the 3rd floor - it was small and we can't even open 2 luggage on the floor at the same time. You can't do any cooking unless you get the 2-bedded apartment on the top floor. The location is good if you like to be surrounded by restaurants, bakery and shops but it's not a super ideal location for aurora catchi...

Husavik is a small next to Akureyri and is famous for whale watching. The choice of accommodation may be limited, however, you can find the best host here. It's not only simply a hotel or hostel you stay in Husavik, but also a home of you! You ll find comfortable in the stay. You can ask for their suggestions about your trip too! Without their help, I could not catch m...

The staff is really friendly and the rooms so clean. Really enjoyed my long stay there... you have everything what you need there. I would have given 5 stars, but need to substract three because the washing service totally destroyed my wool/cashmere shirt. I guessed for 1000 kr. the service is realiable and professional... But they washed it too hot and too rough... ...

I had the best night sleep during my whole trip at Iceland. Breakfast is simple but good enough. Resturant offer basic dish - no menu with reasonable price. It was snowing lightly during our stay - very cool. Amazing view over the Alps and ocean. Shall come again

It is spacious with 3 bedroom for 6 people. Well equipped. I initially booked for one night. With a change of trip plan due to weather, we had no hesitation to book another night to stay. Only draw back is there is no lift, so need to bring luggage up the stairs.

There is a disclaimer, because this place can be tricky to find. You need to remember to turn off the 845 route to take the smaller road to Mývatn. We struggle a bit to find it with the phone's GPS and google maps. However, once you have found it, this location has a wonderful veiw of the mountains, and apart from the birds and the occational sheep passing your little...

We only stayed a night, but liked the accommodations very much. Easy parking on the street next to the building and a 5-10 min. walk to most sights in town. The only complaint was that some of the cookware was a bit greasy from the previous guests.

Got a room with private bath. It was exactly like a hotel. They got everything in the room. There is a canteen with a complete kitchen there, but we did not cook. The location was just by the lake facing the famous mountain. There was aurora on that night and we were in a perfect location to capture photos of us with aurora, water and the mountain altogether. Not many ...

Never having used a sleeping pod before, we mainly booked this one out of curiosity. And we absolutely loved it! It is very well situated on the main street of Akureyri with bars and restaurants all around. The entrance was a bit difficult to find since it is in the back of a shopping building (a sign or arrow would be good!) but there was a phone number on the door a...

The owner is very friendly and helpful. I was allocated a room in the oldest building of the guesthouse. To my surprise, it was splendidly maintained with a genunine Nordic feel. Although the temperature of the hot water in the bathroom is a bit unstable at times, overall feels great. Breakfast is good with varieties of choices. The outdoor bath is a excellent and is a...

Our room was clean, the bed comfortable, the staff helpful, and the breakfast appreciated. A suggestion: that the hotel keep a supply of the parking forms now available only at banks and filling stations. Free parking is great, but driving around an unfamiliar city at 10:00 PM in search of a filling station is not.

this hotel is located in a wonderful icelandic valley. the windowview is worth seeing... it is a romantic place but it is quite dificult to be found without gps. the furniture is quite new and is produced by a known swedish manufacturer (or a style of it). all what you need is in this hotel: good breakfast, friendly staff, internet. as for the wi-fi: please ask recep...

Comfortable modern room in good location. My room was basically at ground level, looking out into the car park, so it felt like a motel and I had to keep the curtains drawn.
