This is my pick for this trip as there are a few options in "Serenata Hotel&Resort Group". You would have a private accommodation seperate from each other for this one and a quiet environment for relaxing. A plus point for the internet connection despite the mountain area. I travel during raining season in Thailand (October), the atmospere is very chilling and a bit of rain shower. Therefore, I did not pick any activities during stay due to overflow river. But it's the best time to enjoy scenary. The area inside the resort is huge to walk around and sightseeing, very green and fresh air surround by mountain. The mountain is also very spectacle view. To travel directly by a car is the best option, no need for many point of transfer. You could connect with local private car with driver start at 2,200 Baht (Bangkok to Hotel) (for one round trip, 4-wheel vehicle) and additional cost if you make a request to 1-2 stops at a tourist attraction during traveling. Or you could reserve with the resort directly for transportation start at 4,800 THB (Suvarnabhumi Airport to Hotel) (1 round trip, with a van) The food is very good if you order for any stir-fried dish , vegetarian dish, and deep-fried fish, the soup or curry is an ok dish for me. Price is around 150-200 Baht per dish order, but if you order a fresh whole fish is around 420 Baht. Overall, I would visit again with my group friends, I really enjoy visiting here. :)

GOOD PLACE TO RELAX!”
If you really want relaxation, it’s the place to be. It was so serene and quiet. The place to unwind and just be stress free. The staff were so accommodating and attentive to the guest’s needs, they were also very friendly. I felt very welcome even though I came by myself and the rest of the crowd were families or couples. I fell in love with Kanchanaburi more because of this place.

Beautiful resort in the jungle”
I can only say good things about this place! My children and I had a wonderful and pleasure stay. Beautifully looked after even though it is located in the middle of a jungle. Surrendered by nature, it is the perfect place to relax. Although there is not much sign of civilization around (so do not expect to escape to the nearest city easily), the resort offers some internal and external activities. Walking distance, there is an interesting cave full of bats located in a National Park. Most exciting for us was going Bamboo rafting in the river Kwai to visit a Mon tribe and swam back to the resort. There is also some entertainment offered by the hotel, like a Mon dancing show, but that was temporarily cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions. Staff was really polite and servicial at all times and accommodated all our requests efficiently. Rooms were comfortable and clean and surprisingly (given the hostile environment) insects/bugs/animals free! Overall, we loved our stay and we will certainly be back when visiting Kanchanaburi.

The pictures doesn’t give back how great this place is. The trees, the flowers, the different plants…just absolutely incredible. It is also next to the river & there are many nice little paths to walk around. If you love to be in nature this is your resort! Although it is a bit far from Kanchanaburi main city, they organize trips for you. We did a one day Erawan waterfall trip from there and it was great. The food is good (service can be a bit slow but it’s okay) & the stuff is super super nice! We did one night in the jungle chalet & one night in the delux room (as we extended our stay) & both were really great. Highly recommend to anyone!

Whenever we go on vacation, we always apply the principle "value for the money" when selecting the accommodation. The place certainly meets the principle. The River Kwai Resotel is a riverfront, clean, great breakfast, friendly staff, and a good-size swimming pool. Make sure to stop at At Wild. A local coffee shop with great food and a nice yard.

We really enjoyed our stay here and the bungalow we had for two nights. Restaurant was really good we had breakfast and dinner there both days and liked all meals we had. The grounds of hotel are really nice and many paths leading through resort and to the two pools and the river. What made our stay extra special was the staff that could not have made our stay any more enjoyable. Can’t wait to go back.

One of the best resorts in the area”
The River Kwai Resotel Resort is a very nice hotel with two pools and a pier for boat rides on the river. The rooms are large and very clean. The staff can understand English and are very customer friendly. The only negative about this resort is accessibility. It is located in a hilly area and getting around on the property can be difficult for older or handicap persons. There are shuttle that take visitors from/to the parking lot. However, the reception area is further in from where the shuttle drops visitors off. There are porters to help with baggage. We will definitely visit again and recommend the resort.

Best place in Sai Yok”
I’ve been to Sai Yok for many times and stayed in different places but River Kwai Resotel is the best place so far! The room is sparkling, the view is marvelous, the floating activity was fun with reasonable price! Only the location is quite out of any convenient place so I suggest to bring everything you need there! The food was fine, a bit over price. I will definitely return on my next stay!!!!

The location was away from the city centre of Bangkok which made it a great and perfect place to escape reality. The place was a pleasure and it was the same as the pics shown in the slideshow on Agoda. The staff there were very helpful and friendly, my family and I felt welcomed and the room is surprisingly clean though it locates in the middle of the greenery.

I've booked here 3 days then extended for more. If you get the building which close to the river, that would be very cool. Day1: after breakfast, in the afternoon, you can walk around the hotel. There are many spots for taking picture. Day2: can go to Lawa cave, pool or river activities. Day3: can go to Mon village then relaxing in the afternoon. At night we drive to see wild elephants about 50mins drive. Super cool place.!
