Great hotel on the Chao Praya River”

This is the third time I have stayed at Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel and Towers and I will definitely be returning. This hotel consistently puts out a quality environment to stay in. The staff is professional and helpful and the rooms are always of high quality. The location on the Chao Praya River is fantastic. There are many things to do close by and lots of restaurants as well. This hotel brought me to this area of Bangkok the first time and I will continue to return here.

Luxury service and beautiful rooms”

The Royal Orchid is an amazing hotel as all Sheratons in Asia are. This hotel was particularly well staffed. I have rarely stayed at a hotel that was as attentive to any guest enquiries or needs. The hotel was beautiful and the grounds well maintained. Simply beautiful. It is also very close to the river taxis so this opens up all of Bangkok to you. It is also attached to the River City cpmplex if you wish to ship there or dine. Usually we stay at Marriott Resort and Spa (now the Anantara Resort) or the Shangri-La but this hotel has much better service. We stayed in an Executive Tower room on 27th floor and had access to the Executive Lounge. This was very very nice. I'd recommend it highly.

SHERATON IS ALWAYS SHERATON”

I had a special weekend rate and had a grand suite. It was lovely, especially the amazing views through 3 windows looking up and down the river. The pillows and mattresss were up to the usual Sheraton standard. - blissfully luxurious! BUT -and there is a but! Be sure to bring your own iPad and iPhone connector plugs! Not a single USB port anywhere in the room! And from the concierge to the hotel engineer, no one was able to find a solution and didn’t seem to know what I was actually talking about! Fortunately there is a 24/7 Superette about 100 metres from the hotel and they have them so the day was saved. The 2 TVs in the suite were not flat screen and old and poor quality. No USB port on these either and the bedside radio alarm had a docking station for iphne 1 or 2! No USB port there either. In short the Bangkok Royal Orchid Sheraton needs to come into the 21st century and at least replace the bedside clocks with modern ones with a USB port. But everything else was lovely.

Time to kill in Bangkok - Sheraton is an Island of Luxury”

The Royal Orchid is on the river, next to a ferry and bus terminal for local commuters, but in a relative dead zone for businesses. So unlike much of bustling Bangkok, it is relatively quiet and the Sheraton is like an Island of Luxury. Two large pools, good fitness center, good restaurants and clean, luxurious rooms - All at Sheraton prices. What that means is that you can get a decent online price for a four star room, but expect to pay a premium for a sandwich from room service or a substantial fee for the breakfast buffet (which is worth it if you wake up hungry, but a drag if you just want coffee and some fruit) My travel companions and I planned two nights on the way home to USA from Samui and we added one because of weather problems in Tokyo, and this was the perfect place to chill. We spent two entire days lounging by the pools and topping off our tans before heading home. Airlines use this hotel for their flight crews for this very reason.

Very nice hotel”

Great hotel. Not to mix with the Sheraton in Siam Square. Royal Orchid has amazing river views. Also, Pier 4 is right next to the hotel, so it was easy to get on the boat to get to the Great Palace, Reclining Budha and Emerald City. BTS Sky Train is not within walking distance, but the hotel provides free shuttle to the train station every 30 minutes. As I said, great view of the river, though the surrounding area is not the safest. The bellboys were great at getting taxis for the guests. Many amenities in the hotel: spa, many unique shops and jewelry stores, 2 pools, several restaurants and bars. Live music 3 nights a week (quite good performances, actually). Not located in the "touristic area", but it is a 20-minute cab ride from Siam Square, which is not bad for Bangkok. The hotel is very clean and comfortable, and the service was very good. Very friendly staff.

Nice Hotel, but Slipping a Notch”

We have stayed at the Royal Orchid Sheraton several times over the past 15 years, as I frequently have business in Bangkok. The hotel is still excellent, the staff wonderful, but little things that used to be there are no longer there. We used to get a basket of fresh Thai fruit in the room each time we checked in - no more. There used to be apples and a refreshing drink in the Fitness Centre - no more. So, although the hotel is still quite nice, it is losing some of what made it extra special,

Incredible experience with above and beyond staff”

The Royal Orchid Sheraton has stunning views of the main river in Bangkok and is constructed so all the rooms look onto the river. The concierge was incredibly helpful in instructions for getting around, advising us on reasonable pricing so we weren't ripped off, and even ordered pizza for us when we couldn't figure out how to use the room phone. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, and the buffet breakfast is amazing! You can't get a better experience than this.

Nice place to stay”

The Royal Orchid is mine (and my partners) hotel of choice in Bangkok primarily due to its location but also as it is a nice hotel to stay. Every room has a view of the river and the view only gets better the higher up you go. The staff are always very friendly and courteous whereby nothing is too much trouble. You can dine right on the edge of the river or inside at one of the many restaurants depending on your choice. The buffet food is nice but somewhat expensive but show me a 5 star hotel where it isn't. One of the true beauties of this hotel is the location. Yes you are right on the Chao Praya River as are many hotels. However, you have a river boat pier right next door so catching one of the many ferries up and down the river couldn't be easier. You also have the free shuttle boat down to the closest train station. And if you feel so inclined. the dinner boat cruises depart next door on the other side. Additionally, China Town is either a one stop ferry ride or a pleasant walk away. I have stayed here a number of times and will continue to do so when transiting through Bangkok.

An excellent place to stay”

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel! After some not so great experiences in other hotels in the city, the Royal Orchid Sheraton was a relief and a pleasure. The rooms were very clean and maintained, the bed was very comfortable, and the Deluxe River View room had a room-sized picture window looking down the river, not just a small window or view. The breakfast choices were plentiful and food quality was good. The staff was attentive and friendly. The concierge was very helpful with any requests or needs that we had, and the outside bar is right along the river with comfortable seating and a lovely view. Definitely a great choice!

Good business hotel right in the river front”

This was a very good business hotel. There are lots of amenities and restaurants and shops in the hotel making it very convenient. The location was nice: right on the water front next door to the riverside plaza shopping center, the Sheraton has another pier just next door for public boats going to Wat Pho/Royal Palace and other riverside sites. The Sheraton also had a free shuttle at its own private pier taking you south to another boat pier where you can get the free boat shuttle to the Asiatique shopping area which is terrific. The hotel room is very clean and a good standard size with comfortable beds and a clean bathroom with modern finishings. I felt safe and comfortable here. A few tips: if you don't wake up in time or miss breakfast go outside the hotel and just around the corner in the outside area between the hotel and the riverside plaza there is a great little French bakery there that makes delicious sandwiches (I got a crazy good tuna sandwich there). Another nice thing about this hotel is that there is a sky bridge connecting the hotel to the riverside plaza shopping center just next door where there are more shops and restaurants--you don't even need to go out in the heat if you don't want to! The Wat Traimit is only a 5 min cab ride away and most other main sites are accessible via the river. Overall I really enjoyed staying here and navigating the boat system to get around.

ROOM WITH A VIEW”

Our stay at the Royal Orchid Sheraton could not have been better. The staff were wonderfully helpful and polite. Nothing was to much trouble to them. The position would be hard to beat right on the banks of the Chao Prayer River. There was a pier on one side of the hotel where ferries ran up an down the river and one on the other side that took passengers just from one side to the other. The view from our room on the 23rd floor was stunning. Looking right down the river, we could watch all the busy river traffic, barges, ferries, long tails,and huge pleasure cruise boats. At night the brightly lit boats were like fairyland. We could not fault this hotel and would certainly stay there again.

Bangkok by the River”

I am presently staying for a second time and writing about my first experience at the Royal Orchid Sheraton. The hotel is excellent. I write from my desk overlooking the river below and the city lights. The views is great. Hotel services are excellent and the rooms quite comfortable. The restaurants are also quite good. I prefer the traditional Thai restaurant. Beautifully designed with excellent dishes. The lobby bar is quite nice as well. The exterior is a little worse for wear but does not speak to the interior, which is well maintained and lovely. Beds are great as well. I will stay here again.

Royal Orchid Sheraton Bangkok”

We spent three nights at the Royal Orchid Sheraton. The location is great with wonderful views of the river from the room. The room was very nice with a lovely bathroom and heavenly beds, with even a choice of pillows. The staff everywhere in the hotel were very pleasant and helpful. The food in the restaurant was very good. We did not have breakfast included in our rate and ordered a la carte every morning which really good. We also had room service one night and that was excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there again.

Great location”

I’ve been using this hotel for a number of years when I have a Bangkok stopover due to its great location. This is the only place I know of where you can actually sit out over the river when having a nice breakfast. You can easily walk to the sky train or take the complimentary Sheraton shuttle boat. You’re close to China town (walkable if you want to stretch your legs). The popular river ferry (including the tourist ferry) stops next door to the hotel. There are nice little cafes at Riverside next door or you can try the street stalls. Lastly, there are lots of little back streets and lanes in easy walking distance to wander which offer an insight into Bangkok life. The rooms in the hotel are comfortable and depending on the room offer a great view. Best views come from the Executive suites (my last stay). The Executive club is pleasant too. If you want to on the river and have easy access to everything else, this really is a great place to stay. This won’t be my last visit.

Top location to stay in Bangkok no doubt”

Royal Orchid Sheraton is located by the river. You can get to the hotel via hotel shuttle boat from Taksin skytrain station. This is special because Bangkok used to be dubbed Venice of the East. Bangkok is more and more "debatably" automobile oriented, but staying here that river mode vibe is still there. Totally recommended.

Fantastic Stay!”

This is my first time stay at this hotel and I am so impress to get the real 5 stars service from Royal Orchid Sheraton! Eventhough, there was too crowded during busy time on 13-14 Feb, Staffs did not show any nervous or tired but they were keep smiling. Thank you for the best service from your hotel! I will have the next stay with you for sure!

Royal experience”

As a - many time - returning guest you are welcomed back by all the staff. A very personal and warming experience. The location of the hotel is wonderful, and you can spend hours just looking out on the river, being it from the pool, the bar or one of the restaurants. On top of that Royal Orchid Sheraton also has one of the best spas in Thailand.

Royal Orchid Sheraton Bangkok”

My wife and I stayed at the Royal Orchid Sheraton for two nights. It's a large hotel that located on the river and it attracts many tourists. Rooms are reasonably large and the hotel staff is generally very accommodating. The hotel offers a buffet breakfast that it very extensive. It features both Asian and western style food. Perhaps the only thing missing is whole wheat alternatives for the health conscious consumer. The lobby can get a little cluttered with luggage around checkout time, but otherwise the hotel is a good choice for someone traveling to Bangkok.

View is unsurpassed!”

I have stayed at the Royal Orchid four times out of the five that I have been in Bangkok. The rooms are large and very comfortable. Every room looks out on the river and watching the boats with their twinkling lights at night is enchanting. Live Thai music in the lobby in late afternoons. Free internet service. They make you feel special.

Perfect”

Sheraton is a standard in service and style. Royal Orchid Sheraton has a fantastic location on the Chao Phraya. Highly recommended for a romantic tryst (and all other stays).
