Fabulous location ,close to Cambodian border , In Authentic Thai countryside , Perfect mix for Thai / Foreign tourist Guests , Warm welcome , High level of hospitality , Great food . A stop never to miss . Highly recommend to any weary traveller .
You have to look at the region where you are in Thailand. Prasat is not rhe centre of the world and here you find a resort that gives you peace and comfort, very friendly staff and excellent food. From here you have an good base for going to the fantastic temple of Phnom Rhung, or to a further step to Cambodja. Local there is enough to see if you want to see it ( Chom chom marketn Surin elephant town, Buri Ram the thundercastlle etc.... It's a jewel in a forgotten part of Thailand.
The resort is located in a rural area that is very peaceful. The owner runs the place and goes out of his way to help the guests whenever he can. The room is air conditioned and well maintained. The food is good and very reasonable. All in all, it is a very nice place to stay.
Beautiful settings great staff Food is superb cheap to stay value for money Owner and his wife are lovely made me fill at home stayed here twice now and wouldnt stay anywhere else in Surin and Prasat The resort is amazingly beautiful gardens swimming pool and rooms have just been decorated😊😊😊
In principle good place to stay and also room was definitely satisfactory. We arrived quite late but no problem we were served ok food and drinks. Irish owner was away to Australia but lady boss and her sister made us feel at home. Second day we were away to visit friends and we arrived again a bit late after 8pm. I don't know what bothered lady boss but no single word anymore only she said no food anymore for you coz too late. Next morning we checked out but we needed to arrange and discuss bill with cleaning ladies who did not speak English at all. We had paid our bill the day before but cleaning staff could not understand that. After some time another customer looked into kitchen and there was our lady boss but no friendly word only ok and bye. Was really weird never experienced this in Thailand before.
would be nice tea coffee making facilities
Always having been staying there for the past years; best place around! Once they were fully booked and we had to stay elsewhere, which proved to us that Ryan's is the best choice one can have when staying in the area.
Absolutely no complaints. My wife and I were made welcome from the minute we arrived. Rooms are ok, food excellent. Will definitely be staying here again.
This is a hidden gem! Gary is a great host and knows how to make his guests feel at home. I also should mention Colin who filled in during Gary's absence. If your down near Surin you should stay here. Will be staying here again when the need arises. Gary from Roi Et
We stayed here for 2 days, and had a good time. The area is called "Little Norway" due to tha many farangs from Norway in the area. The Host and hostess welcomed us when we arrived late in night, and no paperwork. "We can fix tomorrow" was a relief after a loooooong drive that night. The food is great, and breakfast is served with a smile. Thos Hosttess told me she was tired, and there was to much work running this place. So the where actually looking for buyers, so the could move on, and let some others run the place. Unfortunately this was reflected i the dayli life, since i could sence they where tired, and not to happy all the time. There is a small pool, and it does the job. Clean and refreshing. The rooms where clean, and the aircon worked (but not to good). We had it running at MAX all the time. Its not expencice, so if we will stay here agin next time ? YES !
The towel scratched my skin. The colors were awfull. The pool half the size shown in the photos
Ideal place to stay to break up along journey. Nice bar area to chat with some of the local expats. Very well maintained pool which was perfect for our small children. Top quality food. Steak and pizzas were perfect.
Baik
Stayed here many times one of the first Resorts in the area and still the best.
very good place to stay friendly staff good food everything about it was wonderful
Could not pay me to stay there again
Ryan and Nok really run a little jewel. We (three children and two adults) felt so welcome and enjoyed our stay very much. After staying in more than 20 hotels in Thailand over the past 12 months, Ryan's Resort was the best. We enjoyed not only the pool and the garden, but also the excellent food and the friendly people. Thank you. We will be back!
Excellent place to relax would recommend it to anyone staying in the area. Very friendly staff , great food and clean well maintained rooms.
Don’t be misled by the budget price for a stay at Ryan’s-this Resort punches far above its weight. Owners Gary and Nok have created what’s arguably the best resort in its class in the whole region of Issan. Yes the rooms are clean, spacious and contain the basics-but that’s expected. It’s what I didn’t expect that surprised this long-time Thai resident ex-pat. The surroundings are beautifully laid out and maintained. The pool area is immaculate…to quote Darryl Kerrigan (The Castle, 1997) “How’s the Serenity?” Phil is the part-time Chef, Barman and all round Raconteur who cooks great meals and if pressed, will even drop you his ‘Full Monty’ English Breakfast-outstanding! The roomy bar (with poolroom) is well stocked, offering draft beer and even spirits by the glass-a welcome change from the usual Thai style of being required to purchase the whole bottle. Just about every imaginable TV station is available in the bar as well as in the covered outdoors dining area. This is where the local ex-pats gather to exchange the day’s tall tails-and what a great bunch they are… more than willing to welcome any guest into their clan. Ryan’s Resort is a family friendly stopover that offered me more ‘bang-for-my-buck’ than I’d hoped for. Don’t go through Prasat/Surin without stopping by at Ryan’s; even if only for the best European menu in town-you’ll be glad you did.
We felt welcome at this resort from the moment we arrived. Gary and Nok went out of their way to provide our group with everything we needed and more. They even cooked up a buffet and a barbecue for their guests on 2 of the nights we were there. There is also a friendly ex-pat group that come to this resort and use it as a meeting place in the evenings. The accomodation itself is comfortable and spacious and the swimming pool was a popular choice for many.I absolutely recommend this resort to anyone who has a vehicle.(It is located about 40kms from Surin.) We'll be back!
Absolutely loved this place. Even though it was a bit out of town it was a great recovery point for us after spending all day on the farm. Coming back at night Gary was always ready to have a beer with me and the meals are great. Plenty of other westerners would rock on by for a meal or beer too so got to meet plenty of characters.
Traveling from Ubon Ratchathani to Siem Reap with a baby we wanted to stay at a place close to the Cambodian border. The place is a very nice and relaxing place with a pool in the countryside with a very friendly owner. We only stayed on night, but the place is good to explore the area around if you have your own transport. We had to rely on public transport, but the resort is just off route 24 where buses to and from Bangkok pass. The food they serve is good and they even have cider! If asked, Gary, the owner can arrange transport.
This resort is great. Nice bungalows, nice little pool, bar with pool table, restaurant, fitness rooms, bikes for hire and it all looks very very nice. The bungalows/rooms had toilet, shower, refrigerator and safe. The only problem is the location. Once you're there, you're stuck there. It is 8 km to next 7 Eleven (in Prasat), and there is no public transport back and forth. Expect to pay at least 200 baht each way for a taxi if you can get any. Well, you're stuck there, but that doesn't neccessary really matter much as you have everything at the resort.
Rooms are clean, tea, coffee, water, available. WiFi on TV available. Food is reasonably priced for the location. Swimming pool needed cleaning and a bit of a tidy up. Additional charges apply for extra persons.
“Nice oasis in rural Thailand.”
The food is really good. Pool is a nice break with the kids. The place was cleaned really well. The VIP room and bungalows suited our family well.
