Chawengs Best Kept Secret”

Our 1st visit to Samui was 4 yrs ago when we stayed at a small resort just a bit further down the beach. It was a total disaster with the place being filthy & very run down. We choose Sans Souci based on reviews & the fact that it was small, personal & down the quiet end of the beach. This is not a place for young ravers but for those wanting to switch off & enjoy the beautiful beach just a few steps down onto the sand from the hotel. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with those lovely Thai smiles, genuine friendliness & a beautifully presented small, but older style, hotel. The teak wood all around the hotel, the lush gardens & the dining setting were fabulous. You don't get the flat screen TV's in your rooms or even phones but what you do get is cleanliness (it is spotless!), fabulous food and treated as a guest in their own home rather than a traveller. The breakfasts were awesome, fresh fruit & a good choice of Thai or Continental/American, the pancakes were to die for! Having travelled extensively in Thailand the 4 of us have never eaten lunch or dinner at our hotels, mainly because of the expense but also we have previously felt that the authentic tastes can be lost in fancy hotel food. With the exception of 2 days when we were on tours we ate every lunch at Sans Souci & boy the food was flavoursome & plenty of it, the garlic & pepper prawns were again a big hit with us. The price was so comparable with what was on the street why would we get dressed to go out for lunch when the food at Sans Souci was soooo good & the setting didn't get any better sitting there overlooking the ocean. We decided to give dinner a try & ended up having the best thai food ever so it was repeated again on our last night. To Patrick, Anne, Bird, Pan, the chef & everyone, a huge "thank you" from us. We arrived as strangers but felt that we left as friends & the big hugs goodbye just about said it all for us. We shall definitely be back & we won't leave it so long.

Amazing staff and beach front boutique hotel”

I have traveled the world and I find Ko Samui one of my favorite destinations, due to Sans Souci Samui! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It had a family feel and the boutique hotel was quaint and offered a lovely seaside breakfast. The beach is at your doorstep! I enjoyed being on the end of the beach, as it provided a quiet atmosphere, however, walking along the beach or even the road, offered additional restaurants, shops, and entertainment. I enjoyed the location, as it was close to everything, yet had a feel of getting away from it all. Snorkling, kayaking, hiking, could all be arranged by the Sans Souci staff. The hotel was exceptionally clean and beach towels were provided daily. It was a smaller, rather funky, French boutique feel in a tropical paradise. It is simple and that is what I was looking for... I wanted to get away from the American high-rise hotel type of place. I highly recommend it for singles, couples, with or without smaller children. Teens may want a more active high-rise, pool hotel, but Sans Souci offers the sea as the pool and a great beach with warm water to enjoy, as well as ease of swimming. The shade of the Mango tree was abundant, however, I am a sun worshipper and found plenty of that! The resort could up-date the chaise lounges, but other than that, I loved it. I will definitely return to this romantic hotel!

Nice and quiet beach vacation!”

Sans Souci Samui was such a great find! I was so happy to be conveniently located on the Chaweng main strip and on the beach, but away from the loud bars. It seemed like we were located just at the end of the strip and walking only 2-5min to get to things. I liked very much being in a quieter area and also have the private beach! We did not stay in a room in the main building but rather in a separate room, which felt like we had our own little studio apartment almost! (without kitchen of course, but still a minifridge). The room itself was cozy and clean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating with general questions and helping with directions and the best way to get to certain places on the island. The only complaint about the room is that we were supposed to have a king sized bed, but our bed was in fact, 2 twin beds put together -which was fine but its a little awkward to have that crack in the middle of the bed even though the beds were fitted together and did not separate or come apart. Also they were good, comfortable mattresses. Being a couple it was inevitable that one of us was always sleeping partially on the seam! The hotel provided van/driver service which was pretty pricey! 600b/hr, but it was nice and convenient when we wanted to tour all of the temples -some of which would have been hard to get to using public transport and taxis. We were not brave enough to rent motor bikes -which the hotel also had. I highly recommend staying here if you don't want to be on a noisy part of Chaweng. I found that the prices for Thai massages were at least 50b less than the main area, and probably the restaurants were a lil more reasonably priced too. Petchbuncha Muay Thai stadium was just a 15min walk away but you can easily take a taxi or motor bike taxi there if you don't want to walk.

Great beach hotel - super friendly staff”

This was our second or third stay at the Sans Souci Samui, and we will return, I am sure. This hotel is toward the bottom end of Cheweng beach. Our room was 20 steps from the beach, and the hotel provides beach lounges and umbrellas and beach towels. We had an inclusive breakfast and although the menu listed items as ala carte, we were not limited on our breakfast choices and there were no additional nuisance charges. The mini-bar prices are reasonable. The only drawback is the mattress was rather hard. The hotel also offers airport transfer. If you are not familiar with Samui, book them for the transfer. If you are already familiar with Samui, you probably know to book them without further thought. PS. WIFI worked great during our entire stay.

Couldn't have been better”

We stayed in the Deluxe Beachfront with Double Bed, #11, and it was better than advertised. It looked right out onto the beach, had a balcony over looking with beach lounge, A foyer to lounge in if you want to get away from the sun, private stairs leading down to the beach, and massage folks right outside the room. The massage is for anyone not just the room! The staff was welcoming and did whatever they could for us from the beginning. The hotel is small so the staff gets to know you and is very attentive. Breakfast has enough options and is always fresh. My favorite part was the croissant! Their menu is also large enough to meet you wants from local dishes to western fair. The location of the hotel is near the end of Chaweng Beach (South). We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. It is a 30 minute walk to Central Celebrate with numerous shops, bars, and restaurants along the way. We split our time between the hotel and street pretty evenly trying out a few spots away from the hotel. I loved the atmosphere of the hotel and the numerous plants throughout the common areas. Beach Chairs. I am not sure if there are enough beach chairs for the whole resort but some groups were 'saving' their chairs starting early in the morning. We never had an issue since we wake early but one day we saved our seats about 10 minutes before we finished breakfast. This sucks because there would be a few hours while we were the only 2 people on the beach or 2 of 4-6 while all the chairs are taken. This is nothing against the hotel just other people there! The 2 days we went out and did trips or explored there were always seats available when we returned though so who knows what I'm on about! We will definitely return to Sans Souci Samui.

Perfect Beach Location”

beach front bungalow with big terrace overlooking the beach and ocean. clean and comfortable, however not stylish. room rather traditional thai with wooden furniture. small and old tv, but with the ocean view instead unbeatable. lovely garden restaurant with good food. massage at the beach offered for reasonable prices. beach chairs and umbrellas available at no additional costs for hotel guests. reasonable prices compared to all the other accommodations at chaweng. those might be more modern but with less character than the sans souci samui resort with it's probably 20 guest rooms. recommended.

Nice place in the quiet part of Chaweng”

We enjoyed our stay at Sans Souci Samui very much. Our room vas ready even though we arrived at 11:00 in the morning. Room was clean and spacious, breakfast in their beach restaurant was very good and with a good selection. The place is located directly on the beach at the end of Chaweng beach which is a little quieter than further up. They have their own sunbeds and provide clean beach towels every morning. We didn't like the Chaweng beach that much as the sea was a little rough and the beach a bit dirty so we rented a scooter and spent the days in Bo Phut instead. I would still recommend to stay here though as you have access to plenty of bars and restaurants in the evening and the scooter trip is quite nice! Wifi worked very well in the room and staff very helpful with helping us renting a scooter delivered to us (no need to leave your passport as you have to if renting on the street). I would come back!

Great little hotel with superb staff”

We had a great stay at the Sans Souci Samui. The hotel is very nice and clean and the staff is super friendly. The hotel is located at the very end of Chaweng beach so it is a bit of a walk to get into town where most of the bars / nightlife was; however, it was great to be able to get away form the crazy night life and back to the hotel at the end of the night which was a much quieter part of town although still very close to restaurants and bars. The beach is a bit small at this end but there was plenty of room to lay out and swim in the ocean. I would highly recommend this hotel for those who want to be close to all the action in Chaweng beach but far enough away to not have to deal with all the late night / wee morning crowds once you decided to head back to the hotel! Hotel includes a pretty decent breakfast as well.

Very friendly family run Resort, directly at Beach”

The Sans Souci is a peaceful, beautiful part of Chaweng Beach. The staff had a very warm welcome for us and the room was just extremely comfortable with everything one might need. The garden is amazing, full with tropical plants and leads you right to the beach. In the morning you can enjoy the breakfast with sea view. It was just perfect and made us feel at home right away. The reception rented a scooter for us, so we didn’t have to go through any stress finding the right one, retuning etc. etc. Sans Souci might be one of the best places on Samui to enjoy your beach holiday in a warm and friendly environment. I would come again! Thank you!

Best Resort in the Best Location”

Perfect location at the quiet end of Chewang Beach. Prompt airport pick-up. Beautifully maintained gardens. Beach-front breakfast every day. Rooms and toilets cleaned properly every day. Hot showers, good water pressure and hair dryers included. Friendly and helpful staff with decent English. Close to some quiet bars and several convenience stores. Scooter hire nearby. Well-protected from the noise of the loud-speaker trucks that patrol the island blaring advertising for Muay Thai boxing. I fell sick with food poisoning before I came to Ko Samui and this was the perfect place to rest and recuperate. I will stay at Sans Souci Samui whenever I return again.

Perfect”

I absolutely loved my stay at San Souci Samui. I had room 14, a deluxe room with a fantastic ocean view. The room was spacious, with rustic furniture that certainly was more about character than modern styling, but it was just a lovely room all around. The location was perfect for me. Its at the quite end of Chewang Beach, but a nice stroll up the beach or a quick taxi and you are in the heart of Chewang Beach. There was no night life at this resort, but that was great for me - just the sound of waves rather than listening to loud music or people outside. There is a great little bar right across the road if I felt like a bit of noise. The breakfast was included. Not a huge buffet spread at all, but a good little breakfast that enjoyed each day - and the view while having breakfast...priceless. Great value for money. I would definitely recommend this property if you are looking for a relaxing holiday not too far from the action (but without the noise). Highly recommend

My stay at Sans Souci Samui was great. We were travelling in a group of four and I think I speak for all of us when I say the staff were very attentive and friendly. It gave the hotel a very intimate feel. The hotel location (right on the beach) was perfect and it was not too far from the livelier area of Chaweng and other attractions. They could all be easily reached using a Tuk Tuk or taxi. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and would stay there again if travelling through the area.

Very good experience”

My girlfriend and I just graduated and had our vacation before employment in Sans Souci Samui. It’s a perfect place for vacation. The hotel was decorated in traditional Thai style, it has a small and neat garden and private beach. Service here is perfect, the staffs were friendly and helpful. On the day when we checked out, it was too early and breakfast hasn’t started, the gentleman who seems to be in charge here prepared us warm sandwiches, very thoughtful! What surprises us was all the food here, it was the best food we ever had in Thailand! It was perfectly cooked, with perfect amount of salt, so that you can taste the flavor of every vegetable and herb in it, I guess that’s how summer tastes like! Massage ladies were lovely and professional, we got sunburn and they suggested Aloe massage, it helped a lot! We will definitely come again!

Great hotel with friendly and welcoming staff”

Sans Souci Samui is a lovely place to stay in Koh Samui. Its location at the south end of Chaweng beach was a bonus - we were away from the commotion, however still within walking distance. The staff were very friendly and helped us organise tours, airport transfers etc and allowed us to have an early check-in. The restaurant also does great Thai food, and there are massages available overlooking the beach. The room, if a little dark, was very clean with functional air conditioning and hot water.

Great Location”

If you're after a quiet place to relax and chillout in Samui then I highly recommend Sans Souci. Our bungalow was literally just a few steps from beach in the quieter part of Chaweng. Beach was quite clean and not overpopulated by other tourists. No pool here but we didn't need it. Busier part of Chaweng is approx 15mins walk although lots of restaurants, currency exchanges, small bars, market like stores, massage parlours etc. along the way.

Paradise on a Beach”

nestled in between two 5 star hotels , san souci is a home away from home with 22 rooms and lovely gardens, restaurant. the management/staff are always trying to help you out and making sure that your stay is as comfortable as can be. the beach is white sand and away from the jet skis through the day and hustle and bustle of chaweng late night nightlife. i look forward to enjoying my sans souci samui experience again

Lovely beach hotel”

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sans Souci. The breakfast was excellent - freshly prepared for you and there was a great choice. Looking out to sea whilst eating the hot, buttery croissants was wonderful. The staff are helpful and friendly. The rooms feel a little dark as they are all furnish in dark wood - but each has it's own outside patio area where you can relax in the shade and enjoy the lovely green gardens. If you are lucky to be in room 9 or 10 then you can also watch the koi carp in the fantastic pool. Huge walk-in showers with plenty of hot water! Fridge and mini bar with sensible prices nad free fresh water every day. Great little bar almost opposite. Little street cafe just 50m walk with great, cheap food. Fantastic food at Restaurant Noi. I would definitely stay here again if I ever come back to Samui

Great family run beach resort”

A great place to stay and chill out at. If a quiet relaxing place is what you are looking for then this is the place for you. The resort is located at the best end of Chaweng beach where the sand is really soft and clean. This is a perfect beach front property located at the bottom of Chaweng, The staff are very friendly and efficient whilst appearing to be very relaxed. In the centre there is a small garden that divides all the rooms up and makes them very private. There is no need for a swimming pool because the beach is so close and the sea a pleasure to bathe in. It is a real pleasure to have breakfast, lunch or dinner on the beachfront terrace, where there is a lovely view of the beach and seascape in front of you. The resort is far enough to be away from the hustle and bustle of Chaweng but close enough, if that is what you want. A great place to base yourself to explore beautiful Koh Samui.

Highly Recommended Hotel”

I very much enjoyed my stay at Sans Souci hotel. I have just returned after spending 4 glorious days and also returning as I enjoyed my stay very much. You will not find a better located hotel at the price. Although not a luxury hotel (for which you will pay many multiples) the location is just perfect. I rented the best room which was right on top of the sandy beach. Being at the top end or bottom end of Chaweng your away from the noise and bussle. If you want a beach almost for your own this is the place to be. Its a simple hotel and you will not find a hotel closer to the beach for the price. Starting at or around £42 - £45.00 you just cannot go wrong. If you want a nice beach perfect for swimming with food at excellent prices and a fridge with items at close to the prices outside then this hotel is for you. Add in the excellent service and attention from Ahn and Pan with their permanent smiles you will be pleased as I was. I believe this is a hotel with excellent value for money. This is a real gem of a hotel. It has a few rough edges which adds to the charm, elements of Robinson Crusoe. If you want deluxe go else where, if you want a friendly hotel right on the beach with good well cooked Thai Food then this is it. Highly recommended hotel..Loved it and will return.

Outstanding hotel with great rooms on quiet beach”

we loved the sans souci samui! the sans souci samui hotel is truly a hidden gem and made our vacation on koh samui perfect. the room was very nice, and the service and staff were excellent.
