8.4Excellent
Upon entering the entrance, there were stylish pots lined up by the stairs. The first floor had a reception and a café, while the guest rooms were on the upper floors. Around the bed, there were lights at the entrance, at the back, and bedside lamps, along with two power outlets and a safe for valuables by the bedside. The wall above the bed didn't reach the ceiling, so it might be better to change clothes in a separate space. Additionally, the smell in the toilet was unique, but considering the price, it was a very good accommodation that I didn't mind at all!

It faces a main street, and the sound of motorcycles is quite loud in the room even at midnight. It is manageable to sleep with headphones, but those who are sensitive to noise should be cautious. On the other hand, the facility is clean and the staff's service is excellent. It's also attractive that you can walk to the main tourist spots in Kyoto.

I am Japanese. Suddenly decided to go to Kyoto. I was interested in Santiago because it has a good location and is cheap. The room is clean, but the upper tier has no top panel, so be careful as you can peek at the next one if you want to. The bed has a more pleasant fit than any hotel. There are enough power outlets. I didn't mind the noise from National Route 1. I did not use the shower. For sauna-loving guys, let's take a short walk to "Sasauna"! The front staff's clumsy Japanese is cute. The coffee served in pottery glasses is delicious. I would like to use it again.

During the autumn foliage season, I chose this place for its affordability in the 2,000 yen range and its location within walking distance to Kiyomizu-dera. It appears to be run by someone who operates a Kiyomizu pottery shop. Given the low price, I was concerned about the condition of the rooms, but the mattress was comfortable, the staff was excellent, and there was an appropriate distance between guests. The ceiling in the upper rooms is high enough to stand up. I think the atmosphere can change depending on the day’s guests, but generally, everyone was quiet. One downside is that the shower room is shared between men and women, so it can be uncomfortable to have men present while showering or doing makeup. I thought it would be nice to have a small mirror by the bed. There is a lock available. Additionally, there is no coffee or similar amenities, so long-term guests must bring their own. I was surprised to see men making breakfast from early morning; someone from India was cooking curry. The nearest convenience store is a 100 yen LAWSON down Gojo-zaka. The Fresco supermarket near Yasaka Pagoda was open until late. I might as well consider going to a famous sento (public bath) for the shower. I would consider returning.

“A satisfying trip to Kyoto~”
I liked that it was located very close to Chion-in Temple and that I could find accommodation in Kyoto at a cheap price! The facility was clean, and I could meet and communicate with various tourists, which would be enjoyable for those who are good at English or Japanese! However, since it is a capsule-type accommodation with openings, even small sounds feel very loud. With about 30 people staying on one floor, even slight movements can create considerable noise, so be sure to bring earplugs. I thought it wouldn't be a big deal and underestimated it, but I ended up staying awake for two nights straight. ^^ Still, it was an enjoyable trip~~ Thank you, Santiago!!
