Best hotels & accommodations in Suratthani

It's the second time I've been to Suratthani. I've stayed here both times because it's a new hotel. It's very clean and it's tucked away off the main road. The rooms are spacious enough, the air cond is nice and cold, the bed is coomfy and the bathroom is very good. There is also a balcony with an out door sink that's very good if you want to make a fruit salad or som...

For me,it was a good location. Close to local bus station & minivan station for Phuket,Kao lak, kanom. Opposite new shopping mall, for kfc, pizza & Thai cinema. Maybe cereal bowl could be offered for buying cereal in mall supermarket. I liked hard mattress, but not suit all.

Traveler impressions of Suratthani
A simple town not polluted by the commercials yet. You hardly meet any Thai people who can speak English.
Surat Thani is very much a stop over city. Especially for vegetarians, it is a bit difficult to find food here.
It is ideal place for stopover to koh samui as it is near to the Surat thani airport which has direct cheap flight from Malaysia Kl to Surat thani via airasia.
Average size city, busy during the day, relaxed at night. Small mall downtown, bug mall just outside town limits.
We stayed in Surat Thani purely because we had to catch a train from here at 1am in the morning on our way to Malaysia.
Not a city with abounding in attractions but with local knowledge or reading up, there is enough to interest for two or three days.
being the largest province of the South Thailand, this place has been well know among the travelers for transiting to Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao, and the Mu Koh Ang Thong Marine National Park.
The province which you can stop for relax before go the other place or stay for 3-4 days for walking at night market, beach, eat out, canoeing, and others
There's a train bound to Bangkok from this city, unlike other places where you can only take the bus or the plane.
Kind of small city, not much to see. Nice place to stay for a night or two on a pass through. A couple monuments and temples around the city to see.
Mainly a 1-2 night stop over point for tourists heading to Koh Samui. Not really a whole lot to do here.
I was stay at the hotel just for short time but it was the second time for me because i really enjoy the stay there.
Not so many activity can be done at this town. There's Central Plaza but located bit far from town. There's no public transport after 9.
Very nice city. Many local places to eat. Many local places to buy anything you're looking for. Several modes of transportation available.
Typical city but with enough sights and facilities to be worth a touring visit. As a regular visitor, it serves all my needs.
The whole place is has been used as a stop for people traveling to the near by islands. If you have time and can avoid this place it would be recommended to either go to Krabi town or Ao Nang.
This town is quite unfriendly. I suggest only staying here to get to and from your ultimate destination.
Nothing spectacular, large city with some beautiful temples, good shopping malls, local shopping at reasonable prices and a high quality hospital.
This province is very famous for salted eggs ( Thai food). You must try. I really like it but have to eat with rice.
friendly people and most Thais speak and understand English. Visit the night market which is just 5 minutes away from the My Place Hotel.
You must try the seafood at the restaurant named Lumpoo 3, and the local Thai food at the restaurant named Lucky.
Suratthani is a rural area , not many attractive place to go, but the night market there have a lot of nice food.
It is a dead city and not much is going on, but lays between Dong ferry from Koh samui and suratthani airport, so located well for an overnight stay.
The night market at the city center got various choice of local Thailand food worth trying. The foods was great and the items that sells there are consider value for money.
If you need a stop over for the night. That is all. This place is not the kind of place where you can see good Thai politeness and hospitality.
can have a short trip at this place. I suggest visit oysters farm there and have an oysters lunch too.
Not much here for tourists. They are known for their foods, but this will probably be lost on anyone who hasn't been in Thailand very long to appreciate the nuances.
clean quiet city. Surprisingly shops close at 9pm to 9.30pm sharp. Lack of night activity. Night market is pretty quiet.
Quite a large city. Was only there 1 night and had some drinks around night market and food nearby but not sure I ever found the actual 'heart' of the city in terms of bars, pubs, etc Usually a stop off point for going elsewhere in Southern Thailand like the islands but a pleasant enough place to spend a day or two Head to the night market near the nightboar pier for cheap food and drinks
Suratthani's best hotels with breakfast

Room we booked it Double but when we arrival is twin we have small child it made us little but it fine hope in future they gonna fill more double as we stayed here over 3 times it same trouble. Also staff at breakfast area some of them no smile and seem do not like to service.

Friendly staff who are both friendly and informative, the room is large enough for three including the bed is so big, many pillows and so comfy but doesn’t has refrigerator in the room instead they provide cool water and tea, coffee 24/7 at lobby. Moreover, it locates in the center of city which we can borrow the bike to river market and there are many food stands and...

I would like to thank the wonderful staff for their generous hospitality. We rented a single bunk room, to start the room was very tidy and if you are not spending all day in your room this is a great room. the bunk bed is extremely comfortable and each bunk provides sufficient plug ins and lighting. The air conditioner works wonderfully for the hot nights in Suratthan...

This hotel is clean and has the boutique look. The restaurant served good food in the evening, but the lack of real coffee in the morning was disappointing, since we find the imitation coffee powder served in many budget places in Thailand to be inedible. But for the budget price, we cannot really complain about something like that. We just walked outside to the Ama...

We were on a road trip from Malaysia all the way to Chiang Rai. Suratthani (S Tara) was a stop by for us to put up a night. We booked this room purely based on reviews on Agoda and the room was very cheap! We werent expecting much for the price we paid but we were SURPRISED when we arrived. We reached the hotel at midnight (1am) and the staff actually came out and ...

We stayed only one night on our way to Koh Samui. The hotel is located 70km away from Racha ferry terminal but we were already very exhausted driving for 10 hrs from Bangkok by the time we got there and needed to rest. The hotel is tucked in a little alley but not that difficult as there is Tesco Lotus on the other side of the road. The hotel is super clean and the ...

I booked 4 rooms for 8ppl and it's pretty much private because it's the long pool that join all the room together just like in the picture except the real view are much more beautiful. We were so tired and wet from the waterfall we have visited before checked in and they greet us very nice and very quick for checking in. It's a new, small hotel with the enormous view! ...

This hotel has a beautiful lobby and are baggage was quickly attended to by porters once we exited ghe cab. The front desk expected us and had our reservation ready to go (the first time this has happened in 4 weeks if travelling). Check in was smooth though we had to pay extra for my breakfast since our occupancy was booked for only 1,not 2 on their system. The ro...

The Grand Saowaluk, Suratthani hotel is located in the city area of Suratthani, not far from Big C Super Center. The room is big, even the property is quite old but clean. You can order Thai Massage to your room at 300 Baht for 2 hours. The room rate is very reasonable and already include dinner and breakfast for your convenient.

We overnighted there to and from our Kho Phangan stay. We enjoyed very minute of our stay. If you wish to dine near or visit the night Bazar, it will cost you only 20-30 THB per person. Trip to airport will cost 150 THB per person. All prices are tuk-tuk of course. The reception staff is very helpful, speak reasonable good English. The rooms are cheap and clean and qui...

Pros: this is a very new hotel with clean modern rooms and facilities Pool was very nice and clean Breakfast was buffet style with a good selection Very nicely stocked and priced vending machine for drinks and snacks Hotel offers ticket service and hotel pickup for both ferry lines going to Koh Samui koh, koh phangnan, Koh Tao Bicycles availab...

We stayed with my fiancee for one night in the Suratthani before morning flight. The One hotel was definitely good. Pros: - middle sized room with big bed. - desk in the room. - small refrigerator in the room. - hotel is cheap - plenty of power outlets everywhere - free wi-fi in the room (not very fast, but works well) - nice light in the room - tasty break...

1. Location : In the heart of Surat Thani town centre. Near to the Night Market and Central Plaza. 2. Food : Have not seen any halal restaurant near the hotel. Central Plaza got halal kiosk. 3. Shopping : Night Market near the hotel. 4. Facilities : Internet was good in the room. Lift provided. Room and toilet very clean. Toiletries provided. Big space for car par...

We have stay at 100 islands many times and each time we find the beds comfy, which is something we dont often find with beds in Thailand. For us the hotel is ideally situated as we had a convention close by. Close by at a big Tesco Lotus and a family mart. I would say slightly disappointing breakfast this time, not quite the choice there used to be especially with fru...

Heading to Khao Sok, this was the perfect place to stop over and be ready for the departure from Ratchaprapha Dam pier for a 3 days package in the natural parc. The pier is at 3 km from Bansuanphutarn,. The bungalows are super clean, no air-con but a good fan. And in this area the nights are not so hot. So it works. All the confort you need is there. The Hotel is wel...

Very new, clean hotel. Rooms are spacious and the pool is lovely. Great value at under 800 baht. Friendly staff and wheelchair & pram accessible. Family Mart 5 minute down the road, restaurant across the road. Maybe best suited to those with own car as it is a little out of the way. That said there is Grab in Surat so easy to get around. Didn't try the breakfast,...

This hotel is located in a tiny village next to the Chewlarn Dan lake which is why we chose it because when we realised that the lake was about 50km from Khao Sok we decided to stay closer to the lake to save the journey. This was a mistake in my view because the village is totally not tourist friendly and there are absolutely no services for tourists. We couldn't find...

This was one of the most amazing places we visited in Thailand--absolutely stunning! And it was wonderful to walk 8 steps out our doors and into the lake. Panvaree staff don't speak much English, but they were very friendly and tried to be helpful. There were some odd "misses" like limited food and beverages, hard beds, and too few deck chairs, but it was more than wor...

Amazing location, and amazing view. We've had a lovely time there. Staffs were very friendly. A bit hot during the day and afternoon. They started to provide air-con from 7 pm. But you can soak yourself into the water if you don't mind of getting very tan, and a fan in-room provided. The down side of this place is the transfer. It's very expensive. They don't provid...

This camp is just gorgeous. Set amidst lush forest, with spectacular views across the mountains, a perfect getaway to relax in tranquil surrounds. We stayed here for 2 (actually 3- including an overnight trip away) nights and loved the atmosphere, the incredible, friendly and attentive staff, and the delicious, very reasonably priced food. There was one slight hiccup...

The views from this hotel are amazing and the little huts are great, but avoid the standard rooms as they don't have the best facilities and get too hot at night. It was great to be able to have free use of the kayaks and inner tubes to make the most of the lake and definitely go and explore the surrounding jungle.
