Excellent”

Our first time in Koh Samui with a friend recommending Bo Phut as a good location ...it is ! Our stay at the smile house was wonderful and relaxing . Breakfast looking at the bay every morning is bliss . We had a grand deluxe villa , very spacious and ,impeccably clean . Smile house is near to the restaurants and bars . Would recommend this place to anyone.

Superb breakfast in an amazing location”

smile house was a superb stay. the pool was large and well maintained. rooms were clean (although there were a few geckos crawling around as with everywhere in thailand) and spacious. the bathroom was nice and the water warmed up quite fast. the bungalows all seemed very private and were maintained well. the crowning glories for the hotel were their breakfast which was more than i was expecting for the price paid. the icing on the cake was the location, right in the heart of the fishermans village in bo phut it could not have been any better. surrounded by superb shopping and restaurants while still feeling secluded in your bungalow. would stay here again.

Central position but very peaceful resort”

We were very pleased with our bungalow which was well maintained, clean, spacious and quite secluded by the lovely garden shrubbery. The only problem was the efficient but rather noisy air conditioning and I did need to report a roof leak in the bathroom during a downpour! The pool was lovely, with plenty of sunbeds. Crossing the road to the restaurant was not a problem and it was pleasant to enjoy the view whilst having breakfast. The menu remained unchanged every day but there was still a reasonable selection. The restaurant evening menu was pretty much the same as every other restaurant in Bo Phut (and the rest of Samui!) which suggests that they are all buying from the same suppliers but it was reasonably priced. My only concern was the lack og interest and slow service. I agreed to meet my husband at their beach area after his swim. I waited ten minutes before my drink arrived and when he met me we aited a further ten minutes and not one member of staff approached to ask what he would like so we gave up and went elsewhere! Reception and room staff were very helpful. Overall this is a very pleasant resort, reasonably priced and in a good position between the main street of Fishermans Village and the new Wharf complex.

Absolutely fabulous”

We visited Smile House 7 years ago and had a great relaxing time. Since then there has been an extensive upgrade to rooms and surroundings - all good. Could not have asked for better service. All the staff were fantastic. Rooms were cleaned every day with fresh linens. We usually visited the restaurant for breakfast and lunch as right on the beach. The staff there were absolutely great. We could not have asked for a better service if we had paid twice the price. Always a friendly smile or wave and no rushing you even when in the evenings they were very busy. Smile House is situated right in the middle of the old part of the village and this has not been spoilt. Plenty of places to eat to suit any pocket. The each at Smile House was kept clean throughout the day. Unfortunately some times during the day the water quality was not 100% but no fault of Smile House. There are two nice pools. One large and a small one tucked at the back which was a bit shadier and the water a bit cooler. All in all I would recommend wholeheartedly.

5 star Island bungalow experience!”

Located right in the bustle of Bophut Beach, Smile House exceeded our expectations! Our room was beautifully presented with a perfectly working aircon and a clean, updated bathroom. The bed was beyond comfortable too and we loved chilling on our little patio, especially when the rain set in. This resort is kept clean and well maintained and the gardens were spotless and beautiful, allowing for each bungalow to feel quite private and separate to its neighbour. The wifi was a little patchy, but honestly you shouldn't be traveling to Thailand and expecting to receive 5 star wifi reception in any case. The Smile House restaurant was a little pricey, but so were most of the restaurants along this little strip so it wasn't unusual. Smilehouse also sits right next to the Friday Night Bophut market as well as the ever popular Coco Tams, so again a big thumbs up for location! We will for sure be back in the future to stay in the prettiest area (or so we think) in the whole of Samui.

Wonderful Stay at Smile House!”

We stayed in Smile House for 8 days at the end of October 2011. The surrounding environs of Smile House are perfect as it is set back of the Boh Phut beach strip, so all of the accessibility with none of the noise (not that it is particularly noisy anyway). When we arrived the apologized that due to it being off season we would have to have our breakfast served to our bungalow each morning. Breakfast in bed, awesome! :) We used the back pool more of less exclusively and due to it being quiet in the off season (and other guests using the front pool) we didn't have to share it on even one day. The staff we amazingly helpful with organizing tours, sorting out transfers and taxis, and with other assorted requests. Strongly recommend!

Bo Phut is the nicest queitest beach on Ko Samui”

I basically loved me stay in Bo Phut, so relaxing and the hotel was just such good value that it made the whole Ko Samui trip very enjoyable, the staff at the hotel was so helpful and arranged motor bikes at the same rate as the street price, laundry done that a very reasonable price, and the breakfast each morning was great. I loved my stay at the Smile House!

Absolutely fantastic”

This hotel is fabulous, scrupulously clean (room maid takes her shoes off to clean your bungalow!) and the staff friendly and helpful. There's nothing bad to say except maybe room needs more drawers for clothes. The hotel has its own restaurant for b'fast lunch and dinner. B'fast sets you up for the day. You don't need lunch, tho plenty of little cafés along the Walking Road if you want a cold beer and snack. The dinners at Smile House are delicious and good portions at a good fair price. Dearer than cafés but we tried a number of other eateries and always came back for the value for money. Pools are beautiful. One is shadier than the other. Beach towels supplied. Smile House has its own beach in front of the restaurant with scrupulously clean loos and on-beach massage. There is a laundry service we'd recommend B100 per kilo of dirty clothes. Drop at reception at 8.00 you get it back clean and ironed by 4.00

Great setting, location and value”

We needed a convenient bridgehead on Samui for a trip across to Koh Phangan to see our working daughter, so it was a no-brainier to come back to Smile again after many years and we were not disappointed. Our deluxe villa was spacious, clean, well appointed with shelves and cupboards (not the case last week in a Khao Lak villa at twice the price) and a veranda surrounded by bird filled lush vegetation. We could have been up the Amazon. Two swimming pools with spare loungers, breakfast overlooking the beach, helpful staff and a peaceful night's sleep. What more can you ask? Well perhaps a bottle opener would have been useful

Samui Experience”

We stayed at this hotel 3 times already and am very happy to reccommend it. The room is in the form of a bungalow and it gives you a nice feeling of being in Thailand. The facilities include two pools which is great if you prefer some quiet you can always pick the best. It also has a great restuaurant which has several kitchens- thai, chinese, european, pizza and grill. from what I saw it is the busiest restaurant in Bo Phut. This place deserves a better star rating but like this it's good for us as it is less expensive!

Very nice resort in the middle of Bo Phut”

Stayed for two weeks in this beutiful resort. Nice poolareas and very good size bungalows. We had ours just beside the pool which was really good. Hotel resturang was probably the best in Bo phut, not the cheapest but best location at the beach. Really good food. Breakfast was great. Only minus we can think of is the road inbetween restaurang and the hotel. But that was not a big thing. Also very hard beds. Highly recomended resort and good value for money!

Warmth, Smiles and the Best Attention”

My deluxe bungalow was so spacious with great storage and a nice little balcony for afternoon beers. Air-conditioning worked well in the humid conditions. So lovely to be waking to the sounds of soft footsteps as the staff sweep the grounds rather than leaf blowers and vacuums. I had a slight issue with hot water that was rectified immediately even though I was in no hurry. Many of the staff speak English and were able to arrange a half day tour for me and direct me to wherever and whatever I enquired. My family were staying elsewhere on the island where no staff spoke or understood English. The staff at Smile House managed to book my family on the same tour even though they were well out of the region of BoPhut. I loved the location with the beach right below where I ate my breakfast or dinner, and the narrow lane where Smile House is located is at the quiet end of Fisherman's Village - the hub of shopping and dining in BoPhut. Not too far from all the bustle of Chaweng for a cab but far enough away for be quieter, cleaner and more attractive. I love this place, the people and miss it already!

Well positioned hotel -service always with a Smile”

The Smile House Hotel is very well laid out - with bungalows all very close to two pools. Rooms feel peaceful and are well air conditione. The hotel is very well positioned for the beach, massages on the beach, shopping, eating and drinking out and close to other parts of the island by taxi or scooter . We would recommend staying at The Smile House for a true Thai experience , away from the hussle and bussle of the main part of the island.Highly recommended !

Excellent, beautiful, would come again!”

We loved our week - it spoiled us for the rest of our month on Koh Samui, as nowhere has lived up to it so far! With two young girls - 4.5 yrs old and 11 mths old - there were many small touches that made all the difference: mosquito screens so we could open a window in the evening to hear if they woke up while enjoying our front porch: a ceiling fan on said front porch that kept the mosquitoes away in the evening; two large, beautiful pools, one of which was shaded in the afternoon (SO nice!!); and the Fisherman's Village walking street at our front door, for smoothies, restaurants, convenience stores, market stalls, upscale shops, spas and yoga studios. The usual stuff was great too: good variety at buffet breakfast, amazing staff, lovely, well-maintained grounds and bungalows. Only downside: Bophut Beach has very rough sand (we dubbed it "Scratchy Beach"), so we spent more time at the pool than usual. Oh, also lots of lovely families for our girls to play with, a huge bonus for us!

Lovely Hotel and Service with a Smile”

Could not have asked for a better place. Service/Reception was friendly and very helpful. Perfectly located, quiet. Perfect for enjoying the night life, especially the Friday night walk in street market. Room was spotless every day. Will definetly return to Smile House for next visit to Samui.

Excellent location and facilities.”

We had 3 days at Smile House and really enjoyed the great location near the beach. The room was very dark, but roomy and well appointed, with air conditioning, a nice big bathroom, and a comfortable bed. The rooms were all set in beautiful lush gardens, and located close to 2 magnificent swimming pools. We were in a back room - a bit of a hike (4 minutes) from the beach and restaurant, but blessedly quiet and free from street noise The complimentary breakfast was in their stunning restaurant overlooking the beach. We had evening meals there too - right on the beach. The food was excellent. We thought it was excellent value for money and would love to stay there again.

Great location”

Smile House is well located in the Fishermans Vilage of Bophut and caters for individuals, couples and families. The resort has 2 pools and is located across a narrow non busy road to the beach. We have stayed many times and will continue to visit. My only complaint is the lack of wifi in the rooms when most other Hotels now offer this for free. There are a number of restaurants and bars nearby that cater for all tastes. Overall this is a great place to stay

Wonderful relaxing stay”

We had a week at Smile House. It was a very nice stay.. Very quiet and peaceful. The pools are lovely and the Beach is just across the street and is clean and also private. There is massage on the beach.. Very nice attentive ladies. . The breakfast is excellent and included in the cost. The hotel is right on the Main Street but set back in a jungle atmosphere of beautiful tropical landscaping. There are many restaurants and vendors in Fisherman's Village so nice to walk around. All around great place... Bring Mosquito repellant.

I left my laptop power charger behind accidentally (A difficult plug to replace? After a phone call staff member Tik very efficiently posted the charger which arrived within 2 days. Thank you Tik
