Pleasant Surprise”
3 of us traveled to Bangkok and decided to book The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam through Agoda as there were approximately 50% discount on the Suite meant for 3 and there was also additional rebates for Citibank card holders. Complimentary breakfast for 3 on our 4 day 3 nights stay too. We had traveled to the hotel via the Airport City Line, and took quite some time to locate the hotel as there were no specific directions; unlike Baiyoke Hotels where there were directions shown at the train station. While we tried to use google map to direct us, it kept leading us to Pratunam Market that was situated opposite the hotel. Hence we spent an hour before we arrived. The check-in was very smooth although the hotel was not able to provide us with early check-in, and we decided to do some shopping. When we returned to check-in, and went to our room, we were very shocked to see that the room was so spacious and it was really comfortable. This came pretty unexpected as we had traveled to Bangkok a few times and stayed different hotels and by far this is really good. Location wise, it was simply 5-10mins walk to Pratunam Market and The Platinum Mall. On our last day, concierge staffs were too very friendly and offered us alternatives for us to arrive at the airport, knowing that the time we intend to travel out is during the peak period and we might face with a jam. Overall, it was simply beyond expectations and was a wonderful stay my friends and I had. Would definitely book this hotel if I were to ever travel to Bangkok.

Spacious, neat and clean new hotel”
Overall, my stay at The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam was great! Very spacious, neat and clean. Good room quality given that its one of the newest hotel in the area. Very fast check in and check out. Appreciated that the rooms are already ready for us even though we reached early at 11AM. They fulfilled all our requests at the last minute, putting all 4 rooms together on the same floor and having inter-connecting rooms. They were very kind and understanding to give us 1 room till 3pm check-out as our flight is at night. But we got 1 disappointment, house keeping were actually quite slow even though it was delivered eventually. Moving forward, it is very centrally located in the Pratunam area, near to most of the shopping areas. We will definitely patronize The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam again the next time we visit Bangkok, Thailand - the land of smiles.

Highly Recommended!”
I was a bit hesitant to book this hotel as I have read a fair bit of negative reviews. But luckily, I did not let that stop me. This hotel is great in so many areas. So my post might be a bit lengthy but this is what I found during my 5-nights stay there. Stayed in the luxury room at the main tower on the 15th floor (as we requested smoking rooms. Non-smoking rooms would be higher up). Our room faced the beautiful swimming pool! (Room #11509) Hotel is located in Pratunam area, the best place to stay if you are a shopping addict lol. Surrounded by night markets, eating places, and shopping malls.. this hotel has the best location compared to other hotels. Upon arrival from Suvarnabhumi airport, take the Airport Rail Link express train to Ratchaprarop station. (takes about 25 - 35 minutes maximum). At the station, go to the ground level and turn right and walk all the way straight, but make sure you are at the left side of the road. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk. You'll pass Centara Watergate Hotel on the way to the Berkeley. Berkeley is connected to the Palladium mall... at 6pm onwards, the night markets directly outside of the Palladium comes alive.. buzzing with activity. Hotel reception was very warm and friendly. Check-in was super quick, took us less than 5 minutes to check in. Security deposit is 1000 baht for every night that you stay in (i think, cos we were required to put down a 5000 baht deposit but will be refunded upon checking out). Swimming pool is beautiful, decent size, there's a kid swimming pool as well. Breakfast has a lot of varieties, consisting of western and asian food. Food does not change that much on every morning but still has good flavours. Bathroom is spacious, there's a bathtub... amenities are provided... There's free wifi... and the signal was strong in our room.. but it is intermittent at night, I would highly recommend this hotel...!!

It was pleasantly enjoyable.”
I have read all the reviews despite of having some negative comments from other users but nonetheless, our stay over at Berkeley Pratunam was beyond our expectation. The staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was at the north tower. The room was spacious and clean. Very prompt room service. Food wise can be better. Location, me and friends we decided not to use the BTS as the location of our hotel is actually walking distance to Siam Paragon, Central World and other cheap shopping bargains. the WIFI is quite good, strong signal, quite fast and on the go. The swimming pool is the plus point, i love it but it would be better if the swimming pool timing can be extended up to 9-10pm (like some other hotels in BKK that I've stayed in before). For leisure wise, maybe the hotel could accomodate to better bars for chilling and hanging out. Other than that, all is fine. I dont mind coming back to Berkeley. I would recommend this to my friends if they were to travel to Bangkok.

great new hotel.”
The hotel was easy for the taxi-driver to find... we had printed off instructions for the taxi-driver. Check-in was smooth and easy... staff spoke great English. The room, in the north tower, near the top, was spacious, clean, and modern. The bathroom is spacious, with a great 2-way shower. Supplies are replenished daily. Wifi is always good... an excellent signal, even at the top of the north tower. I saw previous reviews stating the room was 'too far away' and a 'long walk from reception'. The walk between the first and second towers took us less than a minute....and we're both in our 60's. The walkway is on floor 11... the same floor as the pool, business office, travel agent and gym.... so not really an issue .The pool is decent size for Central Bangkok with enough sunbeds, (could maybe do with a few more umbrellas) and a large supply of clean fresh towels. Pool maintenance could be be better, water is slightly cloudy. They are also currently building a second pool. The gym is new, modern and clean, with good equipment....easy to do my regular 90-minute workouts. Breakfast is a buffet....a good and frequently-replenished variety of Western and Asian fare.... fresh fruit , coffee, cereals, eggs, ham, everything you need to start the day. Mr. Suhut, the restaurant manager and his staff are always attentive and very pleasant, and all speak great English. The location is very central.... great for shopping. The walk to the skytrain is about 15 minutes. The Berkeley Hotel is a very new hotel, they have minor teething problems, as does every new venture. The good thing about the Berkeley is that they are trying very hard to address these issues. I would have no problem recommending this hotel to friends, and would definitely stay here again. A very pleasant stay so far.... and excellent value for money.

The perfect luxury oasis in a very noisy city!”
My stay at The Berkeley hotel Pratunam was brilliant. The staff were attentive and spoke enough english to get me from A to B in taxis, help with any query I had and were always smiling and friendly. The hotel room was beautiful with luxury linens, the bed was firm which was perfect as I'd just had an operation in Thailand and the tv foxtel had a few english channels to keep me entertained whilst i recouperated. I found the room service excellent and the food very yummy. The breakfast each day in the hotel was varied slightly and was always of a great standard. Tipping 40 bht each time we dined ensured a speedy, careful and wonderful service from all staff. The mall next door is brilliant for bargins as is the markets directly below the hotel. Bargin hard - it's expected. Fantastic culture, I would learn some key thai words and phrases next time. I found that printing the Berkeley hotel's address in thai (available on the hotel website) was quite useful in that it's a new hotel and not well known to the locals (e.g for taxis, tuk-tuks etc). The shower was huge, the bath was deep and the soaps etc were replenished daily (don't assume it's going to happen before 12pm - it varied each day). We were very happy and loved the quiet of the room after the busy streets.

Very good”
The hotel is a luxurious stay. And it is conveniently located near shopping areas like, The platinum fashion mall, Central World and Big C supermarket. Not to say there are BTS near those malls, so if you want to head further for other shopping malls like Siam Paragon or MBK its possible too. And most importantly, it is near food markets, basically the pratunam night market is the whole street of Central world to The Platinum Fashion mall. So one can basically keep shopping and eating all day for whole trip. The service of the hotel staffs are marvelous, kind and helpful. But down side is that some of their work methods are manual so it takes time to check in and out. And their breakfast was not that great. So if you intend to stay 1 night and have breakfast, forget about it! Food was alright but not many options. Not to mention that the hotel room is super GOOD!!! Well, I bought a 2 night stay in a Premium room and 1 night stay in a Deluxe room but the receptionist actually upgraded me to a 3 nights stay in a Deluxe room, so I can remove the hassle of moving rooms. So all in all, I love the room and my stay in Bangkok at The Berkeley Hotel! Thank you for the nice gesture and service! Keep it up~!

The Best Location Hotels in Pratunam Bangkok”
Best Location Hotel in Pratunam Bangkok. As long as my trip included exploring Bangkok, I will always choose The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam As my accomodation. Just For information this year 2014, I already twice stay in this Hotel, first at May 2014 for 3 nights and then this November for 4 nights. For the first and the second times I stay, it still like the first time I stay. Always makes me feels like home. Thanks Berkeley, Always success and God Bless You All. Just for Information, I take a taxi from Don Mueang Airport only cost me 200THB, but from the hotel, we must pay 500THB.

Excellent Service, Great Location ”
Stayed 3 nights during my stay in Bangkok, and this is my second time in Berkeley. Stayed at the Main Tower this time, but I felt it was more dated in terms of furnishing compared to the North Tower. I would recommend the North Tower if you prefer a brighter room with natural light, but you will have to take the extra hassle of transferring at the 11th floor to the North Tower. Love the location, especially the close proximity to Talad Neon (night market) - literally a 1 min walk from the lobby of the hotel, Platinum and the Pratunam shopping areas. Service here - 10/10! Thai hospitality has always been the best part of staying at any establishment, the staff here at Berkeley will help you to the best of their abilities. Even with their limited English, they serve with a smile! Receptionists speak good English, so no worries when communicating your concerns/queries. Overall, I would recommend a stay here in Bangkok, but perhaps go for the North Tower if you are particular about the interior furnishings like me.

Great hotel stay at affordable price”
We are worried reading many bad reviews about the hotel due to the shortage of staff. But our 6 days stay are really good. Checking in around 3pm is fast and was very happy that they upgraded both my family premier room to corner premier room at the main tower. Frankly, even the north tower isn't that far to walk as mentioned by many people. Room was cosy and bed was comfortable. Bathtub was great and everything within the room is 5-star standard. Wifi was bad until I called up the recep and they passed me a wifi router to boost the signal and the rest is history. Only small issue is the aircon which is difficult to adjust to the right temperature and the hot/cold water during bathing is difficult to adjust at times. Swimming pool is nice but very very cold due to strong wind as it's located at 11 floor and Bangkok weather is quite cooling during this period as well. Walking to Platinum Fashion mall need to pass through a connecting shopping centre next to the hotel using a overhead bridge on level 2. Thereafter, cross over a zebra crossing or overhead bridge which is really not far to complain. Walking to BTS is a bit far like 15 minutes but for a group of 7 of us, we usually take the bigger taxi which is even cheaper than BTS itself (provided you know how to negotiate). On last day hotel allowed me to checkout at 2pm even though I requested 5pm was turn down, hence no choice but to leave luggage at their safe keeping instead. But lobby provides nice cocktail drink with free strong wifi and we are happy to let our kids play there while we finish our last minute shopping....overall stay are good as this is the best hotel we ever stay in Bangkok. Provided their price is still attractive, we will definitely go back to Berkeley hotel.

Super Affordable Hotel”
It was my first time staying at The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam and I got to say that this is a really good hotel. The price of the room is really affordable! Room is very spacious. Bathroom comes with a bathtub. Location is just diagonally opposite Platinum Mall, next to Palladium Mall. When night falls, there's a night market just downstairs the hotel (outside Palladium Mall). I stayed at the Main Tower and although the main tower is "old", it is still clean and definitely more convenient than the North Tower. Service of the hotel staffs is good too. The only issue is with the temperature of the water. When you shower, it will turn from hot to cold and then cold to hot sometimes. Rather erratic. Will definitely stay here again!

Prefect location great stay”
Been to Bangkok very often and have tried different hotels everytime......Berkeley really ace it with the right price, right size and strategic location to everything u need. Walking distance to train station from BKK airport, Berkeley is at the intersection of Pratunam market, Platinum Fashion Mall, Big C, Centralworld, SuperRich moneychanger (best rate in Thailand) and famous chicken rice stall. It has its own night market right outside of hotel and another Neon night market just beside. Room wise it is huge and comfortable, has pool and gym. Will definitely stay again next trip.

Great place to stay”
We booked the deluxe room w/breakfast with 50% discount and got free upgrade to the bigger and nicer room at the check in. The views of the city from the windows were outstanding. The only thing our room lacked for some reason were bathrobes. The swimming pool area has some nice view points to take good panoramic photos of Bangkok, the pool itself if very good and features a jacuzzi. The breakfast was good. The best thing about Berkeley is the location in the heart of Pratunam literally steps from the major shoppin malls including Palladium (connected to the hotel lobby by a short hallway), Platinum, the Big C and Isetan. The hotel is 10-12 mins walk to Siam Paragon and 10-15 to the Baiyoke tower. The variety of restaurants, street food markets and massage salons are also steps away. Would stay again and recommend friends.

Nice, new, luxury hotel in the heart of Bangkok”
It must first be noted that the Berkeley at the point of time I am writing this review is in a soft launching stage. Talking with the management, the time period between June and October when the plan to have a grand opening is being used to train the staff, prepare the rooms, and build a buzz, keeping that in mind... The Berkeley has a lot of potential! What the Berkeley has going for it is its location. It sits right in the heart of the Bangkok shopping district across from Central World and about a fifteen minute walk from Siam Center. It is also connected to the new Palladium World Mall, which will be a big hit among tourist in the future. I had a standard room in the north tower. It was a spacious room with a comfortable bed. The wi-fi internet was very quick and easy to access. The bathroom was large with only a shower stall. A drawback was the lack of outlets in the bathroom, and there wasn't a towel rack. The former is a much greater problem than the latter, and a necessity for a hotel that wants to be considered a 5 Star hotel. There also was not an iron and board in the room, nor was there one to offer in the entire hotel, although management stressed irons will be added at a future date. It should be noted I did not have a luxury room which I am told is much nicer than the Standard room. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Check in ran a little slow, but it was obvious the staff was under training. I assume the process will speed up in future months. The pool area was gorgeous. The breakfast had a nice buffet to chose from. If you do not want to dine in, there is plenty of restaurants in the area to eat at. There is ample space in this very large hotel. It appears to want to tap into the convention market. Parking is onsite. It is in walking distance of the Chit Lom BTS station, the Ratchaprarop Airport Link Cityline station, and a short taxi ride to the Makkasan Airport Link Station where you can catch an express train to the airport. In all this

Had a great time!”
Our stay was rather enjoyable as the room & bathroom was very big, clean and comfortable. Staff were attentive and polite with a comfortable command of English. Most taxi drivers are not familiar with the location of the hotel thus you just have to tell them to go Palladium shopping centre and ask them to drive upwards slightly more. Breakfast variety were great however the menu are more of less the same and we got sick of the food by the 4th day. No harm done as some of the best food (eg, sabx2 wanton noodles and pork trotters, chicken rice etc.) are just nearby! The only drawback is that the location of the hotel is rather far from the nearest Chit Lom BTS(10-15mins walk with many upslopes/overhead bridge & road). As most of you know, crossing roads in Bangkok is an art by itself thus it takes a certain level of talent and effort to do so safely. There was a time we were returning to the hotel in the rain and thats when we realized the inconvenience of the location. However, for the price paid, we are very happy with the rooms & comfort the staff provided us. If you are just looking for a comfortable place to stay at a comfortable price, Berkeley hotel will not disappoint you.

Great value for money 5* hotel”
The Berkeley Hotel is a relatively new hotel located in the heart of Bangkok's Pratunam shopping district. It is within walking distance of numerious shopping centres. It is a very big hotel and rooms are located in two different towers (ie North Tower and Main Tower). It's worth-while paying a bit more to be located in the Main Tower, as this will save time when you need to take the lift to the lobby. If not located in the main tower, you need to go up to level 11 with one lift, get out and walk to the other tower, and take a second lift from there. We booked 2 luxury rooms in the main tower. The rooms are very new and beds are comfortable. It was unfortunate that one of the rooms had water damage in the ceiling of the bathroom, which caused a faint smell of dampness. (It seemed like water flooded the bathroom of the room one floor above ours and seeped through the ceiling). The hotel has a lovely pool area and offer numerous "specials" from their food & beverage department (advertised in the hotel lifts). Overall - a very nice 5* city hotel with friendly staff.

Very fast internet and close to shopping areas”
We had an amazing stay at this hotel! The room is very spacious, has nice design. The city can be clearly seen from the room windows. The beds were very comfortable and airconditioning was also functioning well. The staff were attentive, the area of opportunity for them is learning the English language well. The hotel guests are mostly foreigner, so English proficiency should be a must. The hotel is very close to the shopping areas. In fact, it is just beside, even connected, to Palladium World Shopping Center where we bought several items for low price. Overall, we enjoyed our trip to Bangkok, and one of the reasons is the nice accommodation we received at The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam!

Great location, helpful friendly staff, clean and comfy”
The splendour of The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam when you first step foot into the lobby is set to wow. Service was great and their staff were all really approachable and helpful. The room was spacious and clean, complete with speedy wifi; we stayed there for 4 nights. This hotel is nestled in a good location for anyone who's looking to shop and eat around the Pratunam area. The Ratchaprarop Airport Rail Link Station is considerably close by, too. My only gripe was that the hotel room and hall way smelled of stale smoke even though my mom and I requested for a non-smoking room. It may not bother you but I've got a super sensitive nose and I happen to dislike acrid cigarette smells.

Decent Stay”
This is our second time using The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam. We love this hotel as there are lots of street food just downstairs. Great for supper! Do try the burnt fish! Awesomeee~ When you cross the road in front, there is a long stretch of food available for dinner as well. We love how there is a night market that operates all the way to 11pm just beside the hotel. I want to give thanks to the Bell Boy who relentlessly flagged us cabs to take us to chatuchak market and to another hotel which was also in the pratunam area. I didn't managed to get his name. But he was wearing a very heavy costume comprising of a hat and coat which are both in red/yellow colour. I always have my reservations towards getting cabs in Bangkok as drivers always don't switch on their meters and grossly overcharge us. But because of him, we avoided such unpleasant situations. Really blown away by this helpful staff at your hotel who bear the brunt of the hot weather to get cabs for all the hotel's occupants. Great coordination work there! Berkeley is a great hotel with awesome lobby décor. It is also very easy to get to Platinum Mall & Central World Zen, just have to cross two roads to get there. Try to get a room at the Main Tower. At the North Tower you will have to change lifts on the 11th floor, but it is okay if you don't mind some walking.

The room at The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam we got was the family luxury corner suite on 25th floor, it was big with 2 king size beds, and a big bath room with shower and bath tub. There was also a couch and living area by the door, good for accommodating additional people. Bed is big and quite comfortable, can in fact fit 3 adults on each bed. Room and hotel lobby has internet, however, the tv has quite limited channels. The hotel is very close to the shopping district, although not as close as Novetel or Amari water gate, you would have to cross 2 main junctions with quite heavy traffic to get to Centralworld or Platinum mall, but we didn't mind walking to the malls, the Thais are still quite friendly on the roads so it wasn't difficult to cross the main roads. Alt you can take a tuk tuk for 50 baht to the nearby malls from the hotel. They charge for ice at 58 baht, so buy from the 7-11 downstairs.
