Dirty toilet wall. Faulty and dirty toilet door. Unpleasant smell from the toilet floor trap as soon we enter the room.

Worst staycation I ever had , it a disaster ”

The room is so small , the voice from the walkway and back alley is SO LOUD. the back alley is all the pub area and they sing and party till 5am. So we could only sleep at 5am. The room light and aircon keep off and on I believe it the room card reader failed that why keep off and on the whole night. The bath towel is dirty as well. Could say with this money spend believe we can find a better offer.

The location is good. But i don’t think it suit if u want to bring children because the hotel location is near a bar so a little noisy at night

Terrible housekeeping and service ”

Cockroach found everywhere at the bathroom, inform to clean up 3 times but being ignore. Tv not working. Maintenance was carrying on and the floor at the walk way never swipe and dry, always wet. Being promise to change the room to another area but end out was just denied due to room was fully occupied. Staff never show interest to solve any problem. Terrible experience.

Great as a homebase in exploring Singapore”

First, note that Google Maps is wrong - the closest MRT is not Jalan Besar stn, but Rochor stn. Second, the hostel room is great, big & very comfy bed - but the door lock is rather flimsy. My daughters used their luggage as the door barricade at night. Third, the balcony room is as advertised, but at night you can hear people chatting outside, turned out next door is a bar, and one time it blasts loud indian music until 1 am. We slept like dead due to extreme tiredness from exploring the city all day, but others might not. You might want to ask for other room instead , for example the sound from outside does not reach the hostel rooms.

Staff helped me check in early and location is close to multiple train stations. Good bed. Walls are thin and floors could be cleaned better. All is all good experience.

Room No sound proof can even heard people shower when sleeping Very dirty condition /room / shower area even have cockroach and the floor flooded during shower .poor draining system Faulty shower door Service counter always no people Washing and drying machine all faulty The access card was so useless they don’t even lock the door Jerry the mouse and his family always around the main door drain every night Not recommend Don’t believe all the hotel picture

I would avoid this place in the future. No staff available for check-in, breakfast was promised on reservation but was not offered. I booked it for my parents and it was a very disappointing experience

Usually my stay at TGM is rather pleasant - this time round there were people gathering at the table near the front desk till wee hours of the morning - and we’re rather loud and rowdy. As my room was on the first floor, it was really very noisy. Other than that - the courtyard room is spacious and comfortable to stay in.

Booked and paid a room ahead of time only to find out we are not booked, no records found. And suggested us to transfer to another far away location. That doesnt meet the room that we paid.

Room is very small, and the area is not quiet at all if you’re looking to relax during your stay. Tv was not working as well. Most importantly, the toilet drain was infested with tiny flies. Do not recommend this hotel.

Honestly the place is nice , facility too and the space is cute but honestly when me and my friends wanted to extend our stay,we kept calling the receptionist but no one picked up at all !! one of the staff came up to our room was rude, she said got guests waiting and why were we still in the room ? The room also had no telephone for us to contact the receptionist? Man prob will not come here again.

Genuinely wished i had better things to say about the place. Perhaps it was due to the pandemic and lower footfall (idk), the place was badly maintained. Maintenance ongoing and disruptive to stay, since place is small, you hear everything. Room is unclean, marks on the wall, and it is peeling. Rust on metal fixtures especially in toilet area. Had cause to worry the day before book-in because I writing in to their guest relations email and it bounced. Contact numbers were unavailable, found out that their website's reservation system is down, and their online social media seemed inactive. Turns out still operating. Front-door staff was friendly, that I can say. And it is definitely a well-designed establishment. But looks can only get you so far. Genuinely hope this is a period of adjustment for Great Madras. You've got a beautiful brand, but please clean up the rooms.

Broken shower knob. Left with only one choice which was the rain shower. Tiles in the toilet is also dirty. Check in was late for 30 mins. Staff told us to just wait whilst they got the room ready. Nothing was offered, we were just told to wait.

Room was apparently not made before check-in. Found a used towel beside the wash basin upon entering the room, and a few stains on the bedsheet. Didn’t bother reporting to the staff since I’m just staying for a night. I know stay-in rate isn’t high during the pandemic, but it shouldn’t be the way guests are treated. Sorry, I’ll never return again.
