Better than expected, at an unbeatable rate!”

This may just be my new go-to place in Chiang Mai! At this price point, I was really expecting just a basic room with the usual hard bed, ratty sheets and wet bathroom, but I was rather pleasantly surprised by all that Penburi (soon to be known as Nimman Resort) had to offer! First, I love the location--tucked into a quiet soi right in the heart of Nimmanhaemin's trendy bar/cafe/boutique district. More wine bars and espresso cafes than you can shake a stick at, all within just a few steps of the hotel, yet somehow, it all manages to be tranquil and serene. The rooms are simple, but far better than anything I would expect for under 1,000-baht per night. For starters, they are brand new (or newly redone), so impeccably clean, the bed is comfy, bedding is quite plush, colours are bright, and even the bath has been done with attention to design, with separation between shower and toilet, wood panelling in the shower floor that adds a nice touch of luxury (though I wonder how that will hold up over time), and great new fixtures. Nice window seat by the window, which you can open (screened) to let in the cool Chiang Mai night breezes if you wish. If I had one tiny complaint, it's just that the shower is rather weak, but other than that, I found this a flawless place to stay at a great price. Note that yes, there is still some renovation work going on out front (as of January 2013), but I didn't actually hear a thing so it was no bother at all. Bonus-free wifi throughout!

The Nimman Hotel is simply the BEST!!”

Everything at The Nimman Hotel is great. Great location and walking distance away from all the shops and restaurants. The rooms and the facility are clean and modern. The bed is very comfortable. Breakfast is very delicious with many choices to choose. Staff are extremely helpful, nice, and courteous. The complimentary 24 hours tea and coffee and water bottles and snacks are just the best. All of our family members are very happy with The Nimman and we would definitely stay here again if we ever come back to Chiang Mai.

Nimman Boutique Resort is my regular hotel to stay when I come to Chiang Mai. It is little far from the center of Nimman. However, it is ok if you have a car or a motor bike as it provides free parking space. Currently, it also offers free buffet breakfast which were very delicious. On the day I visited, it had chicken green curry, pad thai, deep fried lemon grass chicken with sticky rice as well as good coffee, salad, milk, etc. Staff were friendly as usual.

The hotel is close to Nimman-haemin, which is the University area of Chiang Mai. This is outside the city center, where all the temples are, but near a lot of restaurants and nightlife. The room was small but very well done. The hotel overall is small, but includes a spa. The small size and the quiet street the hotel is on manages to give a country feel even in the middle of the city. We found a number of restaurants within short walking distance.

Nimman Hotel - City Relaxation”

Nimman Hotel is ideal for relaxing within Chiang Mai. Nimman is modern and trendy with lots of cool restaurants, bars, and dessert cafes. The area is farther from Old Town where temples and culture are more prominent. The hotel had a great breakfast, clean modern feel, and a great pool to chill out by. Would highly recommend!

Perfect for young professional travellers”

Perfectly located in the heart of Nimman, this hotel is walking distance from anything a traveller in their 20's or 30's would like: food, cafes, shops, etc. I went with a friend for a quick getaway from our cities, but we still brought our laptops with us. The Nimman hotel allowed us to explore around Chiangmai during the day, and gave us 24hr co-working area with good Wi-Fi in the evening. I didn't use the pool. My friend and I agree that for the money we paid, our stay was really worth it. Staff were always friendly and helpful. You cannot expect total quietness - you will hear doors banging here and there. There was also something wrong with the power generator... when I took my time to wash my long hair, it made the electricity go off. It's quite minor compared to all the other things the hotel provides. In all, I would definitely stay in this hotel again, and gladly recommend it to other travellers. :)

quaint, lovely and charming place to call 'home'”

Had the most lovely stay at Penburi @ Nimman 17. Love its quaintness, clean and such comfy comfortable they supplied. The staff were like kind and warm hosts who treated you like long lost friends! Hahaha... And yes, they do speak English! I've already recommended friends to this place and 2 groups are booked with them. I know they too will experienced a retreat here. What's more, this lovely place is at the doorstep of every imaginable laid-back, yummilicious Thai and fusion eateries, plus every few steps, there's always a little coffee kiosk to have a cuppa to energise you for another few hours of serious retail therapies. I love the rustic, homely feel, sitting at the reception having my morning coffee is like sitting amongst the birds and trees, in the woods, almost! So serene, peaceful, a relaxing hideaway. Yet to think it's just a stone's throw from the buzzling Nimmanhaemin Road. I will certainly come home to this lovely place when I am next in Chiangmai. Oh, did I say their rates are really affordable? And for that level of comfort, it's just too awesome. Adorable well decorated hotel”

We were so impressed by all the little decoration details they have, the hotel used to be a school. The room is well equipped , even with a bathtub! No elevator but there is only 3 floor and we travel light so wasn't a problem. End corner room we got on the second floor comes with private balcony facing the garden is nice. Fast free internet and good breakfast option, several a la cart items included . Close to boutique shoppings , Chiang Mai university ,zoo and mountains

good choice for budget travelling”

It is easy to find this hotel. Just tell the driver to go to Nimman Soi 17. All the drivers know this hotel. From the hotel you can walk to many restaurants on Nimman road. They have plenty of room. The price is reasonable. The room is quite clean. The staff manner is nice. In case you stay more than one night, they may not clean your room but you can tell them to do.

I had a pleasant stay at Nimman Boutique Resort. The price is reasonable. The room is clean and well decorated. The location is good for food lovers. There are parking lots available if you have a car. The resort provides towels(change everyday), shampoo, shower gel, shower cap, tissue, 2 bottles of drinking water and free wifi all over the place with strong signal. Room size is pretty small and sound-proof is not good but that's ok with me because I spent most of the days outside. I'd recommend this place and re-visit if I have a chance to go to Chiang Mai again.

Good location ”

The hotel is located in the heart of Nimman. Closed to everywhere around. Minute walk to many cafes and Rod Dang. The room is cozy and reasonable price. However, our double bed was not comfortable as I expected but the overall was fine. Delicious breakfast. Recommend!!!

Good location with car park”

Very good location in the center of Nimmarn with very nice and friendly staffs. Breakfast was really impressive, so many northern food to choose and also very delicious. You can walk to all attraction around Nimman, also many nice restaurants. Small room like Japanese hotel, but very comfy and comfortable to stay. Love this place!

Great hotel”

This hotel was comfortable and in a great neighbourhood, away from central Chiang Mai. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was very nice and quiet, nice clean newly renovated bathroom as well. The only thing is that the free internet cut in and out quite a bit, other than that I would highly recommend this to other travellers.

My first time being in Chiang Mai and the staffs at the hotel were always available to give helpful suggestions on where to go and what do. The hotel is clean and located where easily access to food. I would go back to stay at this hotel again.

nice hotel with value for money in a perfect area”

The hotel is located in a very center area of chiangmai ...nimman rd. which you can go to other places quite easily. There are many nice restaurants and bakery shops just a few walks..you should walk to a local restaurant for fried noodles...they have the best fried noodles there! and next to this restaurant is iberry; a very famous bakery in thailand...it's a must!

The room is nice and well decorated with standard room. Hotel is located right in downtown (nimmanhemin road soii13) Good to walk around at night along the road. lots of nice restaurant and cafe..... Value of money and well located!

Feeling more happy”

room is cleanliness. we got a connecting room. it was comfortable . we can go anywhere in nimman street. it is near a lot of cafe. you can walking. Breakfast is very nice. it is buffet. they provide free coffee whole day. you can drink some tea and coffee and take a compliment drinking water at the lobby anytime until at evening( i think until 6.00 pm) Next time, i make sure will be book here again.

Great location within easy walking distance to all the local restaurants and all the buzz in Nimman area. The room is newly renovated though slow water drainage in shower area. Very spacious hotel area with plenty of parking spaces.

Good location but need more facilities ”

This hotel is near MAYA and one Nimman. It’s good to take meals around. The room is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. But there’s no kindle in the room. It’s quite pity.

The lovely place”

This is my second time for me here. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I love their breakfast especially Moo-Ping. They provide free drinking water, tea, coffee and snacks all days long. The pool still clean adnd clear. The hotel located in Nimman area which is great and safe to walk around. I will be back again.
