We used the facility with our 3-year-old son and my husband, making a total of four people. I was concerned about the beds, but the sofa bed was as big and comfortable as a regular bed, which was not a problem at all. It was helpful that the beds for co-sleeping with the child were pre-arranged by combining two single beds. I was also pleased to receive the appropriate number of women's skincare sets from DHC (cleansing oil, face wash, toner, and cream). The room's TV could play YouTube, Netflix, and Prime Video. I appreciated being able to enjoy the public bath without worrying about waking up the child I had put to sleep in the room. There were many foreign guests using the facility, but I think everyone was observing good manners. JR Umekoji Kyoto Nishi Station is just a stone's throw away, making it convenient for taking the train. It is a bit of a drawback that it takes 20 minutes on foot from Kyoto Station, with just one stop on the Sagano Line. It might be a bit difficult to casually go out for souvenirs or meals. The parking fee at Bubu Park has discounts for the hotel, but it was 2,300 yen for a full day, and it cost a bit more if you needed to take the car in and out (though I might not have been using it well). However, Umekoji Park (with its wonderful playground equipment), the Railway Museum, and the Kyoto Aquarium are all within walking distance, making it ideal for little Kote-chan and their parents.

When you take the San'in Line from Kyoto Station and get off at Umekoji-Kyoto-Nishi Station, it's in a great location right in front. When I made a reservation, I requested a room with a view of the elementary school my mother attended, and they prepared a room on the top floor where it could be seen well. I'm grateful for that. After getting soaked from sightseeing in the rain, I was thankful for the shoe dryer I borrowed, which quickly dried my sneakers. The breakfast offered a well-balanced selection of elegant Kyoto obanzai and Western-style dishes. There were so many options that I couldn't eat them all, but everything was delicious; I especially had seconds of the soy milk soup, raw yatsuhashi, and zenzai. The dressing made from Saikyo miso paired well with the steamed vegetables and was delicious. The only downside was the separate pajama set provided as loungewear; while it was well-cleaned and sanitary, I noticed several areas where loose threads were hanging down. Perhaps the cleaning was rough, and I would appreciate some trimming during maintenance. This place is perfect for sightseeing in the Arashiyama area, and it's very convenient as the station and bus stop are close by. I would like to use it again. Thank you very much.

I arrived at 1:30 AM, but the large public bath was available until 2 AM, allowing me to reset my driving fatigue. The parking was also immediate. The room was spacious, quiet, clean, and easy to use. The design was optimal for both travel and daily living. The dishes and robes were also aesthetically pleasing. The storage in the washroom was ample, which I was satisfied with. The separation of the toilet and bath enhances livability. If the window could open, it would be perfect. The staff was kind!

We visited with two 5-year-olds and were given a free upgrade to a very spacious room, which also had a view of the station so the kids enjoyed it! There was also a large public bath, and the breakfast buffet was delicious, making us very satisfied.

“A hotel with an excellent cost-performance just one station away from Kyoto Station.”
The reason I chose it was the price, but the location is also excellent right in front of the station, and above all, it was a very clean and lovely hotel. The aquarium and railway museum are right in front, making it highly recommended for families. The twin room was spacious, and having the bath and toilet separate was very helpful. There is also a large public bath on the first floor, so I could relax and relieve my fatigue in a big bath. And what I would most recommend is the breakfast! The menu is diverse and everything is delicious. There were options that are easy to eat for people of any age and foreigners as well. Of course, there are plenty of dishes that give you a taste of Kyoto, and I am already thinking that next time I want to stay just for the breakfast. I want to eat this and that, but there's a limit to how much I can eat, and I want to stay multiple nights just to try everything.
