The Sea Bang Por Boutique Resort ”
After negotiating misleading marketing rhetoric used to very efficient effect by Agoda, Booking.com et al, we gambled our money on a fantastic deal for a 'Deluxe Studio' room with mountain view- it promised all the luxury we were hoping for from a boutique hotel, exemplified by the lively photos of the promised suite and the hotels location. We felt quite pleased with ourselves having snapped up a bargain when the booking was confirmed. The reality was soon to bear fruit when we arrived after 24hrs of travel.... The 'Deluxe Studio' room was the worst appointed room in the hotel sitting on a corner of the main Buiding with a balcony floating directly above the main artery circling the island- it is very busy from 6am to 10pm with heavy constant traffic, not what you want or expect for a beachside boutique hotel. The balcony despite looking to 'the Mountains' also looked directly on to the hotels water supply and heating/ ventilation equipment. Lovely. Having remonstrated with the staff about the poorly appointed room that has been mis-sold they were more than happy to show us a room/ suite with a sea view. The suite was amazing but came at a cost which fortunately we were prepared to pay. The lesson- don't buy the cheapest rooms, best deals of the day from these sites, they are usually the worst rooms in the hotel, and the hotels always wash their hands of the responsibility blaming Agoda, Booking.com etc for the miss-sold room. That aside, the hotel its self is fantastically luxurious and the staff wonderful, welcoming and helpful. Pay the full price, it's worth it!!!

Excellent Hotel”
My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay at The Sea. We were unlucky to be in Koh Samui when there was a general power failure for 3 days. The Sea however provided several complimentary services to accommodate us. The location is ideal for quiet time on the beach and there are several local restaurants within easy walking distance (either on the beach or the road outside)if you want to sample other Thai food. For the sights or night life you do need transport as The Sea is quite far from the busy centres and while we hired a car the hotel does provide a shuttle service. The staff are very friendly and spoke good English. I wish to compliment the front desk who were very helpful when my luggage had failed to arrive from Bangkok.

Lovely”
As the majority of our honeymoon was spent here we were really impressed with the professionalism and attentiveness of the staff. Our room was beautifully laid out. It was bright with separate sleeping, living and cooking areas it was more of a luxury one bedroom apartment! They decorated our room with rose petals as a nice touch. We had a lovely view of the sea and palm trees which was always pleasant to wake up to. The hotel itself is located on the northern shore line with views of Koh phangan. We basically got the whole beach to ourselves most of the time. The beach itself looks idyllic, however, the sand is fairly course and the sea is silty and rocky (Not ideal for swimming in) but with sun beds, music playing, palm trees, and a great pool to jump into this wasn't too much of an issue. All in all this hotel is fantastic, the front desk will always help you out with what you need but if you want more of a nightlife I suggest you look at hotels in Chaweng (which is an amazing beach) it was, relaxing, romantic and quiet getaway. Therefore not ideal if you do like to party but perfect if you really want to feel like you can get away from everything. We owe them a great deal of thanks for such a lovely stay.

Between the Road and the Sea”
Overall this is a very nice hotel on a quieter beach in Samui. However it would be more accurate if it would be called ‘Between the Road and the Sea’ as it is squeezed between the busy ring road and the sea on the north west corner of Ko Samui. If you are booked into a road side room and you value some peace and quiet then spend 1000 THB more for a non-road facing room (a.k.a. sea view but still at a bit of distance). The staff are polite, courteous and attentive, the rooms are quite pleasantly decorated and the beach is not as crowded as those closer to the airport. There is a generous buffet breakfast with good quality fare. Unluckily, after some rain the hotel’s electricity was half knocked out, which meant no air-conditioning. Thus the balcony door had to remain open and the racket of the road caused a dark and noisy night. Hopefully that was a one-off situation as the local power company came to make repairs to the electricity pylon in the street. However, I think the hotel management could have done more such as offering us a different room or at least given a fan or cooler. Bang Po is a nice beach.

Good with room for improvement”
The Sea was awarded with World record in 2016 and also a few awards. The resort is nicely build, service is fine, location is at a quiet place even it is peak season. Initially we booked the cheapest room from Agoda with The Sea. When we arrived we felt that the room is too small and without balcony. In my opinion, this room shouldn't be offered as per The Sea standard. People that coming to the beach is looking for rooms that can relax although the room might not facing the sea. This room is like a standard hotel for people to just stay for overnight. A suggestion is at least put more details on this room descriptions and more pictures to let people know what are they expecting before booked. We then decided to upgrade our room to delux sea view room which is totally different. Of course it comes with a price that are much higher than the previous room. Thanks to the staff who gave us a good rate in the upgrade. The room is clean and overall is great. The room layout design is great. However, there are some small parts of the design in the room is not friendly or is not appropriate. You can only notice it if you are a traveler that very sensitive to the convenience of the room design. My comments only refer to the delux room sea view as I only stayed in this room. Maybe the sea view with pool is excellent since this resort is awarded with world record. I noticed, one of the traveler who comments recently has the same experience as us. I wish this resort management will take a look and further improve in terms of service and the resorts.

Spacious rooms, Good Spa, Close to the sea ”
My friend and I stayed in a one bedroom sea view room, and for the price we paid, it was amazing how big the room was! The was a kitchenette - stocked with pots, pans and cutlery, a living room, a bathroom with a huge bathtub cum jacuzzi and the bedroom had a large King-size bed. There was even a small balcony with a view of the sea in the near distance which was a nice place to relax in the morning. Breakfast was served next to the beach - which was nice and quiet and had a few deck chairs where we enjoyed a mojito (or two) every day. The breakfast spread was decent - the first day we were there it was a buffet, but subsequent days we ordered from the menu on a free flow basis. We tried the spa on the second day and it was good. We both did the scrub and massage package and the scrub used real coconut and rice! It smelt great and the staff were really friendly. Right next door, separate from the hotel, was a nice local restaurant which had really good food! In terms of location, it is not too far from everything and since we had a friend who rented a car, it was really convenient for us. But if you don't have your own transport, you would definitely need to arrange something as it is not really walking distance from much. Would definitely recommend this hotel to travelers on a budget and families with kids.

Luxury”
we were at the sea in a low season period, there were few guests and we felt as though we had a whole team of staff to look after us, which indeed we did. the manager is courteous and helpful and is building a team of staff around him. he is improving the facilities and eager to learn from guests' experiences. the rooms (suites) were amazingly luxurious. we had 110 sq metres to ourselves; huge bedroom, ample storage, lounge with enormous flat screen tv,dvd player, ipod docking station and a stone whirlpool tub overlooking the sea. the big balcony with dining facilities opened up from the living room with a view across the palm trees and beach to the gulf of siam. the bathroom had rainshower and dressing area. the full kitchen included a washer and drier. the restaurant served high quality food at affordable prices and breakfast was a delight. a short (30 second) stroll through the tropical gardens takes you to the infinity style lagoon pool with sun and shade recliners which gives directly on to the beach. you can walk either way from the hotel, one way for kilometres, past bars and restaurants with hardly anybody else in sight. the beach in front of the hotel shelves gently and you can swim in the warm waters of the gulf. only drawback: the hotel is almost by definition, not near a big centre, you need to have a taxi, the hotel transport, or, as we did, use the public songathew service (50 to 60 baht each) to go to nathon or chaweng or mae nam or wherever. enjoy!

CLEAN LARGE ROOM, FRIENDLY STAFF”
THE 3 BEDROOM BEACH FRONT VILLA IS VERY NICE, CLEAN, VERY CLOSE TO BEACH, I SUGGEST IF ANYONE WHO REALLY LOVE QUIET BEACH, HERE IS THE PLACE YOU SHOULD STAY. BUT THEY NEED TO IMPROVE BREAKFAST BECAUSE FOR 3 DAYS I STAYING, NOT MUCH OF VARIETY CHOICE TO CHOOSE , MAY BE I GO THERE WITH LOW SEASON AND NOT ENOUGH COOK THERE, WHILE WE ORDER SOME OMELETTE, THEY ALSO COME WITH WRONG ORDER AND SOMETIME FORGET OUR ORDER, WISH HOTEL WILL IMPROVE THERE, THE WAITER AND WAITRESS IS VERY PATIENT AND FRIENDLY. VERY HAPPY TO STAY THERE, HOPE WILL GO BACK AGAIN IF I PLAN TO VISIT KOH SAMUI AGAIN.

Nice value for money property”
We had a 2 bedroom villa with a sea view and it turned out to be the right choice. It was a generous 150 SQ.M of space for 4 of us fully equipped with a kitchenette and washer dryer etc. Staff service was exemplary and we had some real peace and quiet here. The beach was not the best at Koh Samui but there was privacy. The view took the cake and the icing too! If the breakfast can be improved a bit then this would be the best!

The Sea - Superbly Enjoyable Atmostphere”
It was the perfect getaway place for our 6D5N stay. The room is huge and clean with a little kitchenette. The bathroom is spacious with a huge jaccuzzi. In terms of the rooms and staff, we have no complaints. The place is a little out of the way for those who want to be in the midst of activities - but that would mean alot of noise and crowd. Samui is such a small island and it is really no trouble going places. Transport on the island is expensive by taxi, but rental cars are easily available. Hotel transport is on the high side, but there is a taxi stand just across the road. We rented a car just a few meters up the road. I love the food in the restaurant, in fact of all the restaurants I have tried on the island, I enjoyed Cafe Lebay's food most. Prices are fairly reasonable and food is delicious. The staff are very professional and friendly. I was most impressed that they bother to learn the chinese language. Definitely the perfect place for us to rest and relax.

I've never stayed in a better hotel room - awesome! ”
We had an awesome stay at The Sea and would def recommend this to others. Only downside is that it's on quite a main road and the beach isn't the best in Ko Samui but if you're willing to toss that up for amazing breakfasts, top staff, the biggest room I've ever stayed in with a jacuzzi and sea view - then you're grand. Good job guys! x

Great Stay”
My boyfriend and I just finished a 12 night stay at the Sea and we were really pleased with our experience. Our suite was perfect, the staff were the nicest staff I have ever come across in a hotel and the facilities were great. The only downside is the location. You cannot really walk to much at all and a taxi in to Bophut was 350 baht with NaviGo (Samui Uber Equivalent) or 600 baht with a taxi.

quiet beach retreat”
the Sea is located on a lovely quiet beach on the north side of samui overlooking koh pangnan - the rooms are nicely appointed and the staff are friendly and helpful - we had some problems with the air-conditioning in our room and the technicians came several times then they offered us an upgrade to a larger room on the top floor. the breakfast was great and the room has wifi connection. We were there on a quiet weekend so had the pool and facilities to ourselves - the villas are thoughtfully built not to overlook each other but in busy periods this hotel could feel crowded.... The beach is great for walking on but the reef is quite close inshore so its not great for swimming at low tide

Pure Relaxation”
Had an excellent relaxing stay at The Sea. We were there in the middle of June the weather was perfect as it was the end of the season so the island was not congested. Our initial room was beautiful but had a strong smell that candles and the housekeeping staff were unable to get rid of. So we were upgraded to a pool suite. The english skills of the staff were decent but not always sufficient to answer our questions. However, they were willing to go the extra mile to try to make sure that we were happy. There is internet available in the lobby and Wi-Fi in all the rooms so we were able to figure most things out on our own. The hotel is located on a quieter area of the island and is away from the mail tourist areas which we appreciated. You can rent a scooter just up the road for $150 baht a day and go everywhere you want if you wish to explore a little more. I highly recommend this hotel.

Big n Beautiful ”
we were there for 5 days at this raining season, therefore we couldn't enjoy the pool and beach. we were staying at the 3 bedroom villa with kitchen. with a 18 months old toddler, we thought we can hv him in his own bedroom, however since it is raining all through the week and having power shortage on our first night, i wouldn't dare to put him in another bedroom which is not linked together(the rooms r separated in different unit). not sure if you can have breakfast in room or not but would be great since it is raining every morning, but the manager of the restaurant is truly our delight especially our son's best friend. they have a kids pool which we tried once, it is great for our toodler's height . it gave me a not very good start since we just went to sala before we came to this hotel, the grade of service is totally different. we weren't greeted by staff when we first arrived. we hv to wait for bell boy who doesn't really seems to want to come down to carry your luggages and since it was raining, they should carry umbrella for us not for their own use. the room wasn't scented and there were no mosquito repelling equipment, and a lot of tiny baby ants walking around kitchen.. you will feel more like you just rent a house than having a resort pampered atmosphere. but the price is absolutely worth for such big villa. we could hv gone for a less room villa, but we needed the kitchen for washing baby bottles. there was a lady at the spa who speaks mandarin better than english, so it might be a good thing for some.

Relaxing stay in a great hotel with lovely staff”
We stayed at The Sea for 3 nights in June 2013. We thought it was a lovely hotel. Our 1 bed suite was really spacious and I loved the jacuzzi bathtub! The pool area is really nice and a has variety of places to sit by the pool or on the beach. We were really impressed with the breakfast - choice of eggs or pancakes to order plus an extensive buffet. We ate all our other meals in the beach front restaurant and thought the food was really good. Not a huge amount of choice for vegetarians but they have different menus so its worth asking what else they do. We were traveling with our 1 year old son and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. There is a shallow pool next to the main pool which was perfect for us. They also cooked him some plain meals when we asked. The only un-child-friendly thing was the balcony on our 1 bed suite as there was a gap a child could crawl through along the bottom. We blocked it off with furniture so it was fine. All in all we had a lovely relaxing stay and would definitely recommend this hotel.

Very comfortable, large rooms, terrible restaurant”
We stayed in a large 2-bedroom room that was more like a condo. Big, comfortable with all the luxuries that a travel could need. Best of all it had a full size washer and dryer. The front desk staff was fantastic and tried to address all of our needs. The property is very nice, and quiet. Just what my family needed. It is perfect for travelers with a car or those that do not mind spending 400-750 baht on a taxi (each way) to get to your destination. The property seems to have more of an adult crowd, however, there seemed to be plenty of kids enjoy the resort. The pool and beach are very nice, however, it is not a swimming beach (too many rocks). The Bad – We had a very disastrous dinner in their restaurant, slow, and non-attentive service with bad tasting and overpriced food. I notified the front desk manager the next day and she apologized and said that she would pass our experience on to the food and beverage manager. A few days later, just as I was checking out, the manager apologized, stated they would not comp any part of the dinner, but would use this as a learning experience for his staff. What a bunch of BS! How dare they take our money, give us terrible service and bad food that is over priced, waste our time, and make us part of their training program. If you are hungry, try the beachfront restaurant right next door. Bottom line is, yes I would stay there again, but would never eat in their restaurant again. Dinning tip – Not too far away is the Barracuda. It has to be one of the best restaurants on the island. The food and service are excellent, and they really pay attention to all the little details.

An isolated, but high-quality suite and property.”
if you want to be around a lot of other restaurants and life on the island, this might not be the place. if you want a high-quality, self-contained suite, nice beach, pool, spa, etc., and don't mind being a cab ride away from other stuff than this is for you. if you go on to the beach and head left from the hotel, there are a few other restaurants and shops about a 20 minute walk down. the only real con was that the internet was very shaky. they kept trying to fix it but were never successful. it would work for moments. it worked better in the commmon areas but was no perfect there either.

Amazing luxury beach-side suite”
The 2-bedroom suite was excellent and included extras like a washer/dryer and small kitchen. The view from the living room jacuzzi looking toward Koh Phenangan island was spectacular. The beds were comfortable and the housekeeping staff maintained the rooms very well. The breakfast buffet was great (included in our stay) and had lots of choices. Transportation was a bit difficult as taxis were charging exorbitant rates. Recommended travelers self-drive. Traffic on the two-lane road was high-speed and dangerous, so motorbikes are only recommended for the experienced - we saw two accidents involving tourists on motorbikes. The hote staff was friendly and helpful.
