STAY HERE IMMEDIATELY!!!”

I can't say enough great things about The Shore at Katathani. It's on the Southern end of Kata Noi and is the top-end of the Katathani Resort. Phuket/Patong is 20 minutes North in a cab. When we arrived, we were taken to the room in a buggy/golf cart which are at your beckoned call whenever you want it. The villa itself was BREATHTAKING. Like literally. When we opened the door and caught sight of the view, it took our breath away. It faced out over all of Kata Noi beach and the giant waves were just rolling in. With one sweep, the entire wall of windows can be retracted and you can just dip your feet into your own personal infinity pool. Perfect! One of the best parts of the resort was its food and beverage prices. They were reasonable especially which was a warm welcome. We stayed at Ritz Carlton in Phulay Bay and felt taken advantage of. We actually spent more at The Shore at Katathani because the prices were good and the food and drinks were great. Every night, the resort gave us a special treat... like a swan towel art. New fresh flowers. Tasty chocolates. One night, they put a special duvet cover on our bed that said Happy Honeymoon. (It was). The pool is one of the highlights. It's this awesomely shaped infiniti pool. Just gorgeous. Great brunch/breakfast in the mornings. There's nothing more you could want... Stay here. You will not be disappointed. It was the best hotel we stayed at in Thailand, beating out Phulay Bay Ritz Carlton and Sofitel in Bangkok. If management is reading this review: The only suggestion I have is for you to talk to your bar/pool waitstaff to be more attentive. They did not ever come around to ask if we'd like more drinks. We always had to come to the bar to ask for another round or flag our hands around to catch their eye. And also, there were times when we saw used/empty glasses just sitting on the tables for an hour or two. Just a small change and you are at perfection!!

Great room, great service, but the b'fast can b im”

I was there with my husband 2 weeks ago, the location of the hotel is a little far from the airport (it's at south of puhket while the airport is near the north part of phuket, so it tooks us around 1 hour by car from airport to hotel). The hotel is a new development of the famous Katathani Resort, upon our arrival, the staffs were very friendly and attentive. Our room was spacious, clean, and beautiful, with wonderful seaview. The only downside from the room was that there were some mosquitos flying in to the room at most of the nighs >< but the hotel offers mosquito spray in every room which i can spray around our bed before sleeping to have a good night sleep. Another thing we weren't very pleased with the hotel is their b'fast and food, the b'fast choices were limited and the food was only so so, not very tasty. Katathani Resort offers many restaurants, but there is only one restaurant in the Shore. Though it's not very far to go to Katathani (we can call for a buggy to take us there), but would be much more convenient if we have more more choices in our own hotel. Overall, it's a great hotel, room was beautiful, view were great, service is outstanding. I would recommend it to my friend if anyone is going to phuket:)

Best Place on Phuket!”

I have been traveling to Phuket several times this year and have stayed at many different places on the island mainly beachfront resorts.... I have to say this is the best one yet. First off this hotel is on the Kata noi beach which is the smaller and more quite of the two Kata beaches. It is apart of a grand katathani complex which makes it nice because you have access to more then 7 or 8 restaurants that you can go to that are apart of katathani and you can have them just charge what ever to your room. Their part i the beach is at the end and is very quiet and even near some rocks were you can snorkel and see some fish. The main highlight of this place is the room, we stayed in a two bedroom villa and it was stunning, from the personal pool to watching the sunset it was really nice. When we get the chance we will be back and probably only stay at The shore from now on.

Stay here if you want your privacy violated with the hotel's blessing”

For context, this is an adult-only property with *private* pool villas. Their words, not mine. On the first day, a drone showed up literally in front of our room/swimming pool. I didn't like this at all, but tried to keep a positive attitude and didn't say anything. On the fourth day, again, a new drone pops up moving around: above our swimming pool, in front of the room. This gives them A FULL VIEW INSIDE THE ROOM. Naked in your bathroom? Congrats, they could see you. Were you doing private stuff? Congrats, you might show up on some adult websites. Who knows what the drone user might do with the footage? This is extremely intrusive, rude, and illegal. Yes, illegal. In Thailand, you're not allowed to fly a drone nearby any property as they did. Let alone record inside the room. But this is only half of the problem... We informed the hotel, which apologized and tried to pass the blame on "some blogger". Now here comes the fun part... It wasn't that difficult to track down on social media who were the people behind the drone and... Apparently it was a "paid partnership with The Shore At Katathani"? Wow. I was speechless when I found out. I, of course, don't have the details of such a partnership, but I'm gonna assume they probably had a free stay or perhaps some kinda remuneration, while fully paying guests had their privacy violated. These are their priorities. We were not the only room affected by this. A drone cannot take off/land without the property owner's permission. A drone cannot fly within 50 meters of any property. A drone cannot record footage of someone inside their room/swimming pool. So the hotel either was a 'victim' of this as well and decided to let it happen, or they consented to it and worked together for their own promotional benefit. In either case, this is just not acceptable and, at this point, I don't discard taking further legal action. P.S: If you try to write a negative review on their FB page they will delete it. That's how "profes

Rooms with Amazing Views”

Stayed at The Shore at Katathani for a weekend getaway and felt that it was way too short! The room was very well organized, clean and had an amazing view of the ocean. Our favourite part of the weekend was just soaking in the private pool and gazing at the ocean view. Service was also fantastic with the staff looking after our every need. Room service was reasonably priced and tasted great too. Was a bit of a splurge but worth it for a special occasion.

hotel the shore is simply the best hotel i have ever tried (compare with banyan tree phuket, evason hau yin). it is located one side of the beautiful and clean beach kata noi. villas on a small hill which gives a sense of safety to sleep near the sea. walking distant to two local restaurants if you dun like the food of the hotel restaurant. however, it takes 30-45 mins to phuket town, patong beach or phuket airport. the villa is terrific!!! cannot be better. i like the beige colour tone of the room which makes the room less oppression. spacious bedroom, bathroom and closet. the private pool is not big but it's good enough for taking a cool rest after sun-bathing. if you want to swim, go to the public pool which is not crowded at all. only 8-10 mins walk down to the beach. so it is recommended to stay in higher villas for better view. you can pay 100 baht for two beach chairs and spend the whole morning in beach kata noi. overall, i'm 100% satisfied with this hotel!!!

Your private paradise in Phuket”

If you want a private and romantic time with your other half, this boutique villa property on Kata-noi could be your ultimate choice, Everything was perfect for our 3 nights' stay. The wonderful service started from the check-in process, where you are presented with a delicious honey welcome drink and a very fragrant flower hand garland for your wrist. Buggies take you directly to your villa, so the steep slopes within the hotel are not an issue. Once inside the villa, the view of the blue Andaman sea literally takes your breath away. Far from the maddening crowds at Patong and Kata beach, this villa property is located at Kata-noi, a very secluded and private stretch of beach next to Kata. While the beach is not the hotel's private property, during our stay, we can safely confirm that it is still quite private and does not attract the crazy hordes of tourists unlike Patong and Kata. The Shore is also adults-only (it does not accept guests under 12 years old), so you will not get screaming kids disrupting your romantic holiday. Breakfast each day was a great luxury with the priceless sea view. And oh, if you prefer, they would gladly set up breakfast on the terrace of your villa, at no additional charge. Overall, highly recommended,

shore at Katathani was fantastic one complaint”

We stayed in one of the NOT beach view pool villas. Still we had a beach view and we would jump from bed into the pool and lean over the edge looking at the sunset and beach. The staff could not have been better, the facilities wonderful Staying there gave access to the whole Katathani complex with its number of pools. The lesser Katathani hotels had certainly lesser service but the pools and beach front were wonderful. In fact the beach was so much cleaner and nicer and more private than the rest of the beaches up the coast. Sort of a little private cove of our own. Breakfast on the beach over the pool was wonderful each morning. Just the selection could have been broader My only complaint. The place is expensive. Many flights come and go in the early morning hours. The hotel charges full fare to stay on after about 2pm even if the room will not be filled that night. In fact even with full occupancy many guests WILL be arriving in the early morning hours so theoretically it should be possible to have a late check out. The solution we found was to move to one fo the lesser Kathathanis, the Burri which is a whole different world. The nuisance of it all took some of the good taste away from our stay.

Exceptional”

We had the most wonderful vacation staying at our sea view villa at The Shore at Katathani Resort. The service we were given by all the staff at the Resort was absolutely astounding & indescribable. Thumbs up for the chef at The Harbour restaurant as the food served was no doubt of good value & tasty as well. The Italian Restaursnt La Scala served the best ravioli I've ever tasted. And also special thanks to Sven, the Resort Manager for making an effort to say "hello" to all the guests every morning at breakfast time. Love this Resort so much & me & My hubby are planning to return to this resort soon.

Attention to Detail - Superb!!”

Wow, wow, wow. The Shore at Katathani has left my wife and I just speechless. Such a beautiful and relaxing environment to relax and indulge in a romantic holiday. The staff treat you like royalty and all amenities are tremendous. We have already vowed to return for sure. We would both recommend 'The Shore' to anyone looking for a little more in Phuket, fantastic.

Lovely hotel with a great view but no sun...”

we had a wonderful stay at the shore at katathani. we stayed at the villa with a view just like the one on internet and it was incredible. although it took long time to deliver the luggage, staff were very friendly. as some of the reviewer indicated that there is not much sun around the pool area in your villa. if you want sun, you need to go to the pool downstairs. overall, good stay...

Best 3 days spent relaxing ever”

We were taken from reception to our villa by buggy, which is on call 24 hours a day and they are never more than 5 minutes away if you call them. They are essential unless you don't mind walking the very steep hills that the complex is within. We were shown around our villa, which are superbly appointed and will not disappoint the most discerning. The overall feel is one of complete relaxation and the views from the villa are simply awe inspiring - if you can pay the extra and get the Ocean View villas - I cannot comment on other types but the premium that these attract is obviously down to the breathtaking views. His and her sinks, huge shower, outdoor sunken lounge area and infinity pool, lots of storage space, top of the range bed etc etc. What sums The Shore up is when I asked at reception how busy the place was at the moment (as I never see anybody), they smiled and says that everybody just stays in the villas! ....... and we did exactly the same for three days apart fro going for breakfast at the outdoor restaurant in the morning. This was a decent offering focusing on quality rather than quantity. The ONLY negative that I found at The Shore was that the dinner menu looked good in its conception for fine dining / bistro but it was terribly executed. Our overall experience at the hotel would still get top marks as there are a couple of excellent places to eat in the local vicinity

Stunning view, spacious room, large private pool and nice beach”

We stayed in a 2BR pool villa duplex and it was stunning. You can see the panoramic view of Kata noi beach from both floor. The private infinity pool is gigantic compared to most 'pool villa' that I've been. The design, quality of material used and decoration may not be the best. The room was slightly tired, but it's still a fantastic property. Staffs are friendly and very helpful. F&B is okay but nothing special. Breakfast line in the main restaurant was small. (You might want to check out Katathani's restaurant instead). Complimentary tea set for every guest is nice, though. For the beach, I think Kata noi beach is the best beach on Phuket island. The fact that Katathani have several properties on the entire Kata noi beach makes it's more exclusive than other beaches in Phuket. (Note that according to local law, beach is a public property. It might not be as quiet as Mai Khao beach. But the quality of white powdered/ soft sand and view is the best.

perfect resort”

everything is perfect in The Shore at Katathani Resort, except the Wifi internet, which is difficult to serch a wifi network. the environment and service is quite charming,while the traffic is not convinient since it is a little far away from city center and airport.

Fantastic Villa”

my hubby and i spend 4 nights at the shore and we thought it was completely worth it! from the pickup at the hotel right to sending us to the doorstep of our villa, we experienced great service and the staff were all friendly. we loved the layout of the villa and the thoughts that go into setting it up. little things, such as insect repellant in nice little bottles from the shore, nice bed setups to petals in the bathtub daily just makes the hotel seem very thoughful. the only thing is that the water in the private villa pool is too cold - great for a hot day but not too good for a cloudy day or at night as it can be quite chilling. the shore is located in a quiet beach of kata noi and for us, it was perfect as it wasn't crowded like the patong beach and it is a great place for a quiet and relaxing holiday.

Big ups and big downs”

The good: - Very nice, clean & spacious room/restroom - Extra special decorations and treatment for honeymooners!! - Nice personal infinity pools and even better public infinity pool overlooking beach (beautiful sunsets!!!) - Nice restaurant overlooking pool/beach & dedicated only to residents of the Shore so great service, quiet & not crowded at all! - Awesome free breakfast delivered to your room! The bad: - Mosquitoes can enter room through cracks in the restroom doors/windows (had to spray insect repellant on those cracks) - Food at breakfast buffet at restaurant sits out and gets a bit warm. - Very understaffed so checking in/out takes long and getting a buggy to/from room can take 15+ minutes of waiting The ugly: - Beach looks beautiful from afar but when seen up close, has trash all along the shore! Probably the worst beaches I’ve ever swam in! We couldn’t enjoy it at all because we were literally bumping into floating trash all around us. They clean the beach twice a day but the water itself is so full of trash that in a few hours, it all washes up on shore and the beach is dirty again. Recommendation: - Pay the extra money to stay in a sea view room. You get a nice view of the sunset, and you don’t get jungle surrounding your villa so less mosquitoes and insects crawling inside the room. - Check in and check out early or late to avoid the long wait! - Stay away from the beach and enjoy the nice infinity pool! I don’t know why many people don’t mention how bad the beach is but maybe they also spent most of their time in the pool like we did. I would definitely stay here again but STRICTLY only in a sea view room and for the restaurant & pool (no beach).

Speechless”

Before we went for the trip we'd have browsed through almost every single resorts and villas on agoda. We came across a few that meet our high requirement: clean, great view with private pool and good value for money. The shore has always been on thé top of the list. I never regret for one second the moment we were greeted by the staff. Service is amazing, very attentive and very personal. We have stayed at other resorts before which we thought at that time was really good. This one is even better! We booked a seaview pool villa. It has a private pool that faces the ocean. The view is absolutely amazing. The room is very very clean, the washroom is very clean, spacious and very conveniently conncting the pool making the whole experi nice easy. Breakfast and afternoon tea are included. The only downside I can think of is that the food can be more local and the distance is a bit far from the airport. The beach is quite wavy so not quite suitable for swimming. Other than that, everything is as per other reviews. Absolutely the best holiday getaway! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxed, carefree and 6-star holiday.

Loved The Shore”

Great hotel, our private pool had warm water and the entire complex was nice and quiet. The staff was wonderful and we never had to wait for a buggy up or down the hill. Breakfast was good and the welcome cocktail party with delicious food, complimentary wine and live music was fantastic. The only room for improvement would be higher quality sheets they were a little rough and the health club needs to have more air conditioning and the waters were all empty so it could be better attended to. We would definitely return to this hotel. They also do a shuttle to Patong Beach for only 150 Baht each round trip that leaves at 8:30 pm and returns at 11:30 pm. We loved seeing the nightlife in Patong but staying on nice Kata Beach. You can also have your laundry done in the little stores right outside the hotel for only 80 Baht/KG. Ta Restaurant in town was good and Mama Tri’s for fine dining was good not great. No reason to go there for dinner when the views are just as good from The Shore.
