Excellent, quiet, relaxing”

I traveled with a 2 year old child, two senior citizen parents, and my wife. We were looking for a relaxing, quiet resort that wasn't a crazy party scene that is more the case of other resorts further north in Phuket. The Windmill Resort is PERFECT for our needs! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant was so good and well priced that we didn't need to go out to any other place for good food or a good deal. Even the beer was priced right! The beach is a quick walk down the road and for the more adventurous types a hike up the road (or the hill if you're really up for an adventure!) to the top of the mountain has the windmill for which the resort is named after and a great scenic lookout to the west for amazing sunsets. We definitely will stay here again if we find ourselves in Phuket! The only downside that I can think of is the initial trip from the airport and back was between 900-1400 baht depending on the size of the taxi that you take.

I booked this hotel last minute and I’m so happy that I did. After flying in from Bangkok and having a horrible experience at a different hotel, this place was exactly what I needed. It’s peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. The views were amazing and the hotel is super close to the beach. They offer FREE bike rentals if you’re staying at the hotel and that was a great way to get to see the town of Rawai. The food in the restaurant was delicious and authentic. And the prices were super affordable. I can’t get over the prices of the food and drinks. I loved everything about this hotel and the staff were kind and very accommodating. The rooms are kept very clean and they’re spacious. It was 3 of us staying in one room and it wasn’t crowded whatsoever. I look forward to coming to The windmill Hotel the next time I come to Phuket. This is my go-to from now on. Keep in mind the hotel is a bit far from a lot of things but if you’re looking for a getaway from the city, this is definitely the place. Thank you so much to management and the staff for an amazing stay.

Quiet side of Phuket!!”

I was in Phuket with my wife and 3 year old child. We were looking for a relaxing, quiet resort, something opposite Patong area. The Windmill Resort fits all requirement, if you searching for a relaxing place! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant was delicious and not overpriced. We had a super nice room with pool access, and my kid love it. Near by is one small beach, which was beautiful and not overcrouded. On the hill near the beach is the windmill, with a beautifull sunsets. We were enjoying every minute of our stay.

Great little find in a lovely area”

Myself and my partner stayed for 5 nights at the Windmill in August 2017. We were surprised at first to see that the hotel seemed fairly on it's own, but soon realised it was a lovely location and it seems from looking at other hotels in the area it was pretty unique. Lovely large cool rooms, cleaned daily, with a great pool. Breakfast was included and was lovely, fresh tropical fruit and cereal/croissants, then a range of options you could order as well which were freshly made. We ate in the hotel for two nights and the food was also really good. It's a 2 minute walk to Ya Nui beach, which we liked but found quite littered. Much better by far was Nai Harn beach, which you could walk to (if fit, as there are very steep hills!) but took about 20 minutes. We enjoyed it but if you're not up for that you could borrow bikes from the hotel or get taxis. The hotel shuttle tuk tuk to Rawai was handy, and we found all we needed there, plenty of seafront restaurants and shops. Had to get a taxi back as the service stops at 4pm but this was no problem for us, and about 200 baht - this would add up if there for a while. Helpful friendly staff, especially Ice who was really great. We had a great stay and enjoyed exploring the area and all the comforts of this lovely little hotel - it felt much more local and authentic than some of the larger complexes, which we liked. Would definitely stay again, thank you!

Best for a quiet holiday close to Yanui Beach”

We stayed with 4 persons at the XL family room with two separate rooms 408 and 409. View is to the street / hill side but thats a plus as there are only a very few cars on that little road, more quiet than the pool side where you could have noise from the pool. The only negative is the loud air-condition in room 408 from Panabishi brand. Otherwise good bed and couch and separate stretcher is available, bathroom in marble style with refreshing shower. Only 5 Minutes walk to the beach, when you want to go to Rawai, bars and lots of restaurants you can ask the Hotel Tuk Tuk until 5 pm. The Hotel restaurant at streetside next to the pool is fine, you take breakfast there in the morning and they offer a la carte for lunch an dinner, also guests from outside visit Windmill restaurant, the price is the same as at beach restaurants or even less. You can walk 20 Min. up the hill to Promthep cape for sundown, or take the bycicle, but check brakes before going downhill.

My husband and I stayed there for 5 nights and we were really satisfied. Every staff was very nice and helpful, always smiled. Room was large and clean. There's Yanui beach near the hotel, just 2 min walking, but we went to Naiharn beach most days by scooter, because it was just beautiful. It's only a few min by scooter anyway. Food was also really good, it was a pleasure to see the lady with short hair, she smiled all the time and treated us super nicely! We definitely will stay there again when we visit Phuket again!

Fantastic hotel well worth visiting”

For us this hotel had it all. A poolside room that was very large about 70 sq metres. The pool was large, clean and well maintained. The staff were warm, friendly, courteous and polite. The food was varied and reasonably priced. The breakfast was excellent and cooked to order in a short time. The hotel is in a quiet area with no bars, bright lights or loud music. It was within a short walking distance of a nice beach and just a bit further to one of the best beaches in Phuket. Car and motorcycle parking was right outside the hotel. The gym was good too. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends and will definitely stay there again upon my return to Phuket.

Best hotel of our trip!”

Our best memories of our 3 week trip were at Windmill. Huge, beautiful pool. Room was enormous, clean and nice view over the pool. Restaurant breakfast was the absolute best - lots of delicious fresh fruit and everything you could want including delicious coffee. A fantastic value at this hotel. Staff was amazing. Lovely area to stay in. The Yanui beach was fun to walk or ride the (free) mountain bikes to. The snorkelling at Yanui Beach was quite good. Definitely stay here. It was the best part of our 3 week trip through Thailand, Malaysia and Bali. Our children LOVED this hotel. Lots of young families and nice people staying there from around the world.

Beautiful hotel near ya nui and Rawai beaches”

The pool is large and very clean, as was our double room. The breakfast was delicious, especially the banana pancakes. It was a 3 min walk to small ya nui beach, 15 min walk up to the windmill viewpoint, and 10 minute bike ride into Rawai for dinner. The staff was very helpful as well. Taxi from the airport was 1100 baht. Overall a nice, peaceful, family friendly place to relax in Phuket.

Nice and quiet hotel”

The Windmill Phuket is nice and quiet. The pool is enormous and the view from the top floor is gorgeous. The only thing any traveller should bear in mind is that if you have no car/scooter, you will be stuck in a small radius where you'll find only a small beach and a couple of restaurants. Once you are motorized you get back all the options Phuket has to offer. It's the price to pay to have some rest far from the crowds.

Wonderful hotel in great location”

My wife and I stayed 15 days at this new modern hotel over the Xmas and new year period, We really enjoyed the spacious room, spotlessly clean facilities throughout and the wonderful staff. The reasonably priced food in the restaurant was excellent - so much so we ate here most of the time (also had a fab Xmas lunch) though we did go into Rawai on a few occasions, sometimes making use of the shuttle provided by the hotel but mostly by foot as it was a pleasant walk. The pool area was lovely and never overcrowded. The hotel is in a quiet rural location with the beautiful Yanui beach less than a 5 minute walk away and a few other local restaurants nearby. Would highly recommend this hotel if staying in this part of Phuket. We would deiinitely like to return some time in the future.

Private and peaceful piece of paradise!”

This hotel is located right at the end of Phuket island.Perfect for families and groups.Very quiet, you can hear the birds.2 mins walk to beautiful little reef beach.3 mins drive to Nai Harn Beach.Patong is 35 mins but scenic mountain drive..The rooms are massive and clean.40m pool perfect for all ages with kids shallow wading pool. Sauna, gym, good restaurant cooking Thai and western and not expensive. Staff are super friendly and nothing is too much to ask for. Service is fast. Breakfast is OK, but for the price you can’t complain. This hotel is worth more than what you pay. Cons: towels and linen not so pristine, beds and furniture a bit outdated but locally made. Creaky beds. You really need a car or motorbike to get around. Taxis are expensive. Overall 9/10 and would come back. Love it.

Although the resort is A bit away from the town area ,Its a wounderful property .Very clean spaceous .We stayed in pool access rooms which was a nice experience. The food at the resort is delicious espicially the Spicy Thai chicken and the Pineapple rice.The prices are extremly reasonable. The most amazing part of the resort was that it was managed entirely by women staff right from teception to bar to kitchen .They are doing an amazing job. We were 2 families and simply enjoyed the stay at the resort .We recomend this resort and will surely visit again. Thanks to the entire staff at The Windmill Resort for making our stay comfortable.

Upper mid-range feel, perfect for a quiet family retreat”

The hotel is located 5 min walk from the beautiful beach. Our room for 3 was huge, clean and well-fitted. The swimming pool is the best in the area, we met a few Westerners now residents in Phuket coming here for a swim. The restaurant is very decent too, prices average to the area. The staff is kind, friendly and well-intentioned, but most speak only minimal English. Laundry, scooter rental, massage are all nearby along the road within 5 mins walk (recommend massage from up the road - cheaper and better than the hotel's) the main road with its many shops is 10 mins by push bike- free from the hotel. We are certainly going to stay here again whenever we are in the area.

After making a mistake with one of my booking i had to look for another hotel quickly. What a gem of a find. Super full english breakfast plus buffet breakfast. Food was really good and very reasonably priced as all who have visited Phuket will know most places think they are in London with their food pricing. Best swimming pool, friendly staff with good English. Rooms are massive 72 sqm with a double bed and a single bed. This would be my first choice hotel if ever in Phuket again. Fantastic value and experience.

This Hotel is the Definition of Perfect”

-Room : clean, super vast and super comfy bed and blanket. The bathroom is great. -Location : quiet and peaceful. You can take a short walk to a small peaceful beach nearby to watch the sunset. -Accommodation : they let you rent the bikes for free. They also provide you with a free drink for each person. The pool is big. They have a pool table, free to play. The meals are great but it is also a downside of this hotel because this hotel has no restaurant nearby so hotel's restaurant is the only option. -Security : this hotel is isolated from many places in Phuket so it is quiet but at night there are quite a lot of staffs and lights around the hotel so it is safe. -Staff : nice and friendly. -Environment : this hotel is more like a hostel feeling you can go have a chat with the hotel owner or tourists if you would like some great experiences from them.

Everthing is perfect, really perfect. ”

Staffs are super friendly and always willing to help. The room is really big and clean, view over the pool for everyone i think. You can find the nature and the tranquility right away. Really good breakfast. The pool is nice, clean, and long enough for real swimming. Lovely Yanui beach is 5 min on foot and Nai Harn beach, for me the most beautiful in phuket, is 10 min ride away, easy empty road to get there. You can't book tour with the hotel but it can be easily done elsewhere, the price of motor renting is a bit more expensive than elsewhere but it has nothing to do with the hotel. Might go back there to spend our last 3 nights there

Walking distance to small & cosy beach, good value for price”

We can only say great things about Windmill: spacious rooms, over 50 m2 fitting even a larger family with kids; excellent location with a max. 5min walk to Yanui beach; ample breakfast and decently priced kitchen for dinners; kind and helpful staff. One drawback is the age of the property, if you're fussy about furniture and fittings, the simple brown decor of wardrobes and the frequently squeaking king size bed may not be for you. However the price takes these into account, so we definitely will stay here again.

Value for money”

The Windmill is a good mid tear local hotel, who do what they do, well. I like the quiet location and Yanui Beach. The beach is a great play and explore place for kids. The location is away from the tourism hustle but close enough to be only a few minutes away on a bike to go to restaurants. Bikes & cars can be rented within walking distance. And there's a great cafe nearby called Greze.

Secluded location, fantastic pool”

Confortable, clean, big room, helpful staff, included a great breakfast, AWSOME pool big enough to swim laps. The hotel is located in a valley very close to a small beach (Yanui Beach) away from busy tourist Phuket. If you need to be in the midst of it and you are an addictive shopper than this is not for you. If you love quiet surroundings, nature close by then this will please you. We hired a scooter for independent transport. Nai Harn beach (one of the nicest beaches in Phuket) is 5 min by scooter and local markets are 10 min away in Rawai where you can get fresh and locally cooked authentic, Thai cuisine. 30min on scooter to busy Patong and shopping centers . We enjoyed our stay and can recommend. Sure to return!
