"Very well located, Yes Hotel it is a little gem about a 5-10 minute walk from Kyoto station depending what side of the station you arrive at. The rooms are spacious by Japan standards, clean, offer really good in room espresso, coffee, tea, bottled water daily and has A/C . I know this sounds weird... I LOVED the bathroom. Technology at its finest. The hotel is modern and the service friendly. They were all very, very attentive. They have a wonderful concierge staff to help with dining reservations, local knowledge of the train system, sightseeing ...etc. The breakfast buffet has a good variety and if you don't want the buffet, you can order Ala Carte. This hotel delivers big on all fronts. We will definitely stay here again the next time we're in Kyoto!"

"From booking the reservation to the staff bowing until our shuttle was out of sight, Yunohana resort has been one of the best, if not, THE best experience from beginning to end. They have staff who speak English so they were helpful when confirming my booking before our trip. They also emailed us a couple days before our check-in day to confirm our stay and to ask about our arrival time at the local station so we can use the shuttle. The hotel is about a 15 - 20 min drive from the station. It was raining hard the day we arrived and it was actually the perfect weather to stay inside in the warm resort and enjoy the hot spa. The garden looked amazing from the lobby and there were still cherry blossoms on the trees. They provide a bit of tea and sweets as you check in, and they also have you pick out your yukata, which is the one you will be wearing around everywhere. We reserved the Japanese Twin Style Room with Private Open-Air Bath and it was the perfect room for us. The bath was just the perfect temperature and made for quite an awesome photoshoot on the balcony with the pink blossoms behind us. There is also a small separate living room with a couch, a tv, tea and some sweets. All the drinks in the fridge are free and there are more than enough to last a one-night stay. Dinner and breakfast the next day are incredible. They have private dining rooms so that was nice. The young chef came by to our table to say hello and what an amazing talent and artistic eye he has. Every dish was like artwork and we had such a fun time just looking at it. At the end of dinner they brought out a variety of raw fish so we could choose our main entree for breakfast. That was such a nice touch! The public bath is just as clean and with all the amenities you could ask for. You are able to choose from a variety of shampoos and conditioners. The one thing I wish they had was the chestnut snack in our room was so yummy that we wanted to buy a pack, but they didn't have any in their l"

"The four seasons always has a high standard and this one is no exception. There were a few things that were a little bit of a letdown. Before booking, we didn't realise that it was a non-smoking hotel. Even though we had an outdoor balcony, we couldn't smoke there, instead had to walk down through the lounge to the far end of the outside deck which kind of makes you feel unwanted in the hotel. Also, the breakfast buffet is not up to par for such an expensive and high-end hotel, most of the options were fruits and salads & even the bread selection was quite small. The meat selection was either pork or a few fish selections so if for religion reasons you don't eat pork such as myself & my husband, then you are out of luck. On the plus side, the staff was very helpful and always had a smile on their faces. We also reserved a private tour guide through them and our guide "Hiro" was AMAZING! Very knowledgeable and polite we had originally booked him for 3hrs and ended up extending for almost 5hrs. Since we were on our honeymoon the staff surprised us with a handwritten note, chocolates and little gifts with notes explaining the history of each one from the Japanese culture, which was very thoughtful. Overall I think if they provided smoking rooms or allowed guests in rooms with balconies to smoke on the balcony it would make the guests who smoke, more welcome. We will definitely be back to Kyoto. It was our favourite out of all the places we visited in Japan."

"This ryokan was located about an hour outside of central Kyoto by bus but was certainly worth the trip. Staff were extremely nice and friendly - very welcoming to weary travelers! The location was serene with beautifully attended gardens and coi fish pond. The meals (breakfast/dinner) were amazing! Best I had in my travels around Japan. I would recommend this ryokan experience highly. "

"Wonderful onsen for the price! I arrived early and left my bags with them which were waiting for me in my room when I came back to check in after sightseeing. although it's in a beautiful area and located across the street from a train station I gave it a satisfactory on the location since the train line that runs to it isn't from Kyoto station. There is another station with a train running from Kyoto station but it's a long walk with heavy luggage so I recommend a taxi from that station or one directly from Kyoto station which is what I did but be warned it's a hefty taxi fare. Other than that the food and baths were wonderful! They have 5 private baths on a first come first serve basis (so be prepared to wait a bit if you want those unless you go earlier in the evening). There is also a free hot and cold drink bar along with ice cream in the evening and probiotic drinks in the morning, as well as a massage parlor for an additional fee of course but the massage was excellent!
