Backpacking in Thailand? Find Trang Hostels

"first we didnt expect the private room would be directly next to the lobby so any noise would be heard easily. the location was very difficult to find as we rented a car and drove to the location following google map. the soi in front was very narrow (one lane) and we had to call the hostel for directions (as a bangkok person who drives daily in the city). the parking space was limited. our rented toyota fortuner fit perfectly but two could squeeze in. the room was very spacious, the ceiling was high and the small garden added sense to more space. the decoration was like the old Trang city but fusion together with modern. the bathroom was extremely clean (coming from a clean and neat freak). soap and shampoo was plenty not like those small little bottles that you had to use wisely. drinking water and simple coffee was present at the lobby. theres a fridge that you can take more water if you needed it. simple breakfast was available in the morning (self serve) but my group went out to eat breakfast somewhere else. the cafe/co-working space right next to the hostel is a must visit. having a drink and sitting facing the street of old city Trang gives full relaxation to the escape from the busy bangkok. variety of drinks (non alcohol) and desserts to choose from. nice place to hang around and not so crowded. the price was reasonable. in the private room would be considered to be sound proof to a certain point (i have very good hearing and need extreme silence for sleeping). the night we stayed was a friday night and I can hear music from probably a local pub from the distant at night. but it was only heard from the bathroom, the sound didnt reach the bed fortunately. I did get a good night sleep. Except for one thing was that the room had a mosquito and it did bite me during the night which made it unpleasant. but being in the south of thailand mosquitoes are a problem for non locals. that was only the bad point of the stay here. my advice would be spray the room "

"First off trang is pretty dead for travellers! But as a place to see real thailand its pretty good.... much cheaper to do tours from here than the touristy areas, the hostel organised everything really smoothly. Clean, decent location and a nice place to stay! "

"First of all, location is perfect! We took a sleeper train from Bang kok to Trang, This hostel is located in just 50m from thw Trang railway station. There are lot of travel agency around Trang station and morning market just behind the hostel so you can enjoy cheap tasty thai style street food in the morning. There is Seven-eleven 20m from the hostel. Our room had a big balcony we enjoyed watching how local people live here. Staffs are friendly, well english speakers, we got 1L bottle of water for each when we checked in there. -This was unexpected thing for budget room! "

"We loved our stay at this beautiful character hotel. We had a room facing the street which was kind of noisy except at night. It was spacious and had lovely big windows and a small patio. Breakfast simple but adequate. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend! "
