So Helpful and Amazing”
I had a wonderful time at the Veranda High Resort. I had fractured my ankle in Chiang Mai a week before and had trouble getting around on my crutches. The staff went out of their way to help me get around, sending the gold cart to take me anywhere, including the the pool which was less than 200 meters from my room. They made this incredible painful period so much easier, allowing me to relax and focus on healing. In addition, the main pool was fabulous. I also checked out the jacuzzi pool by my room which was a quiet place to enjoy the sunset. The one improvement they could make would be the wifi connection. However I had read the reviews and brought a SIM card for my phone before arriving, so it wasn't a problem for me. This place was amazing and hopefully I will be back in the near future.

An outstanding place to stay near Chiang Mai”
What a beautiful play to enjoy the city of Chiang Mai without the noise, the crowd, the heat. We stayed there one week, enjoying nature surroundings, exceptional sightseeing, the room size and terrace, the kindness of people. Having a baby child helps a lot indeed to test a the quality of services and staff of a hotel. In that case, we have been impressed by the kindness of all people working in Veranda Chiang Mai - The High Resort. What a original concept : this hotel have all features of a luxury hotel ... but you feel like you were home. The baby club is also very convenient. Hope we go back there !

oh verada you are not quite a "high resort"”
this is a beautiful hotel and i love it there. it's my second time staying at this hotel. a few things i'd like to leave my comments: 1. staff needs to be retrained on performance and how to service at the western/high resort level. they don't know what they are doing. for example, my companion ordered soup and salad, the salad came before the soup and the soup never arrived until we were going to cancel it. they are also very slow, understanding that it's a hide-away resort, but when ask for things it takes too long. 2. never, never, never stay at the resort during the thai holidays!!!! neighbors in the surrounding will have the karaoke party, chanting, etc. both at night and morning part. it's very loud and annoying. it can ruin your vacation at this resort. we were there on january 1 thru 3, there were new year party with karaoke, in the morning there was chanting from monks, there was donation announcement for the temples. yes, i know it's important, but being next door to the resort? 3. wi-fi seems to be an issue at this resort and it needs major improvement. it's very slow and/or it doesn't work well. 4. power failure, the first night we checked in, there was a power failure in our room. a "high resort"???? i don't need to say more. all in all, i love this resort, but if the level of performance mentioned above are still the same i'll have to look at something else. they want to call themselves a "high resort", but they can't perform to meet the expectation! train your staff please. give your front desk manager (a thai) an opportunity to travel to other country to see the hotel at the same level, then bring it back to teach the peer instead of sending a caucasian, but he doesn't seem to do anything to make it better!

Oozes design style - great grounds - that pool”
We had a very pleasent 3 days spent here. I can confirm the pool is amazing. No photos do the experience justice. The room was fantastic - I loved the style; minimal, clean and cool. The food was excellent although relatively expensive compared to dining in town. The free shuttle was convenient, although it would have been better for us if it left earlier in the morning and picked us up later, just so we could have more time to explore Chiang mai old city. The shuttle left and 10 and picked us up at 2 (or was it 3pm?). The trip in takes 30-40min so it only left us a couple of hours for lunch and a massage in town. We didn't use the Veranda Spa centre so I can't comment on that. I would love to visit this place again.

Beautiful mountain resort with all the comforts”
Ideal. If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind, go to the Veranda High Resort in Chiang Mai -- it's well outside town, so it's not for sightseers, but for an escape it's ideal.

beautiful hotel and wonderful staff”
this hotel is all about luxury at an affordable price. from the moment we stepped into the hotel, we knew we were going to enjoy our stay at this hotel. the staff were very friendly and helpful. the hotel is set on beautiful grounds with panoramic views, the photos do not do it justice. on our last night we ate at the restaurant and til this day we keep comparing everything we eat to it. the steak is to die for. this hotel has everything you need. however if you are looking for somewhere close to chiang mai city this hotel won't be for you as it is quite far and there aren't many taxis in the city so you will have to organize transfers everytime you go into the city which could be expensive.

I got a very incredible experience at Veranda Chiang Mai the High Resort. I can smell the grass, hear the birds' singing, the frogs' gaggle. The plunge pool pavilion is very romatic and nice

A wonderful retreat in Chiang Mai”
From the moment we arrived at the hotel we knew it was the pefect place for total rest and relaxation. Set in beautiful scenery and overlooked by the impressive "White Pagoda" the hotel is surrounded by forest and set out on the slopes of a tea/rice paddy. 30 minutes by from the airport. The staff were genuinely friendly and willing to assist with any matter. Breakfast was an extensive buffet offering both asian and western dishes. Breakfast and lunch are available in the "High Room" restaurant which overlooks a fantantic good sized infinity pool (good for lap swimmers). Dinner is served in different restaurant and offers both Thai and western dishes. A word of advice - the sizes of the portions are large. Sharing of dishes was a good plan. There is a modestly equipped fitness room. Veranda Spa treatments were priced appropriately and carried out professionally in a peaceful well appointed spa setting. A shuttle bus is provided . The bedroom was clean and well appointed.

Best service and wonderful swimming pool ”
I visited Veranda Chiang Mai for the second time. Fist time for my honeymoon and the second time for my 1st anniversary. I have to return to this hotel again because staff's very friendli and all the scenery and architect design are very impressive. And, the location of a hotel is not too for from Chaing Mai downtown. I would come back here again definitely!!

A spendid secret garden and getaway from the city”
This was my 2nd stay at the resort. The first was already an awesome experience, and I must say I left the 2nd stay even more impressed than the last. The service was first class right from the first step into the resort compound. Almost felt like royalty. Check-in and out were seamless. Rooms were very well-equipped with everything you'll possibly need for your stay. Surroundings are very quiet and peaceful. Perfect for a relaxing getaway or honeymoon. The view of the infinity pool with the mountains in the background is a perfect photo-opportunity. The best way to maximise your stay is to explore the grounds of the resort and make use all the facilities available - fitness centre, the pool, the spa, the restaurants, even the library. Also not forgetting the swing/hammock just outside the library. Only (slight) drawbacks are: - Quite a distance from the airport (but i guess that's why its peaceful) - Rooms rates and restaurant aren't exactly cheap, but you get a lot of value out of the whole stay as well. Otherwise, i wouldn't mind staying here for the entire week i was in Chiang Mai. Overall, highly-recommended. Would be back.

A peaceful escape”
My wife and I stayed at the Veranda for 1 night for her birthday. We were not disappointed. We booked the jacuzzi pavilion and I highly recommend this room. Large bathroom with rain shower, very large bathtub, massive bed and a large balcony with an outdoor bed and jacuzzi. The room also had a nice coffee machine and iPod speaker dock. At check-in I mentioned that it was my wife's birthday and the hotel truly went out of their way to make our stay memorable. Without me asking, they brought a complimentary birthday cake to our room and the staff sang happy birthday to my wife. Later they also brought a complimentary silk elephant as a birthday present. Now about the actual hotel. The infinity pool is excellent. You could easily spend a day lounging about it drinking cocktails and enjoying the view. Which is quite magnificent. The breakfast is good with decent variety, and they will cook you a fresh a omelette to your liking. If you get the jacuzzi pavilion, which I highly recommend you do, be aware that the jacuzzi takes quite a while to fill with hot water. However, once full, a very nice jacuzzi. As I mentioned before, the bathroom is huge. Rain shower, two sinks, and very large bathtub. My only complaint about it would be I noticed some cracks in the wall, suggesting low grade build quality. But with the rest of my experience of this hotel, easily overlooked. The staff are very friendly and willing to help. They speak good english. The dinner restaurant is quite expensive, but the food was of good quality and tasty. Breakfast is included and quite good, as mentioned earlier. About location. I think the hotel is in a perfect location. Not to far from the city, maybe 25 minutes, but you feel a million miles away. The location is beautiful and peaceful. I highly recommend the Veranda, and if you can the jacuzzi pavilion is really worth the extra dollars.

Ultra modern. minimalist decor.”
We had a special deal and found out that it was because the gorgeous infinity pool and restaurant with a view, would be closed after 3 p.m.. We arrived at 4. Supper was moved to the lunch/cafe area below. Prices were very high so we drove into town. They offer two shuttled services per day into Chiang Mai but a car would be useful.

Nice getaway”
Had a great time of stay at Veranda Chiang Mai. I chose to stay here because of my superb experience of stay in its sister resort in Hua Hin last year. This Chiang Mai property is no disappointment. I like the swimming pool a lot and rooms are spacious. It is away from city centre which means on the good side you can enjoy a quiet holiday, which is the reason I come here. In case you want to do lots of shopping or find good food, this hotel may not be your ideal choice. Spa treatment is quite costly and there are plenty of cheaper choices out there. Anyhow, it's a wonderful stay. Would definitely come back again.

Relaxing Resort for the Peacefulness ”
The hotel staff was very helpful each and everyday, especially with helping my father who required disability assistance. They made the stay very convenient for my parents. The room and the views were quite nice. Probably some of the best views around Chiang Mai. The only issue I had was that the facilities seem somewhat outdated. The resort looks to be in need of some renovation work. Especially with the pool, jacuzzi, and other water features.

Beautiful getaway hotel”
This is a fantastic escape from the hustle bustle of the city. The hotel is in a picture postcard setting in the mountains outside Chiang Mai. The rooms were beautiful, food was great and service was of the typically high Thai standard. The highlights were cooling off at the end of the day in the infinity pool and dinner in the beautiful restaurant surrounded by rice terraces and lemon grass.

Just like the pictures”
We had a short 3 days, 2 nights stay at this hotel. Its worth every penny based on rates on Agoda. The hotel is just like their website and the staff are all very friendly. Based on the rate we booked on Agoda, the staff told us at check in that the breakfast on the last day won't be included and we had to pay extra (it whould have been annoying if we needed the breakfast, but since we were leave on a 7AM flight so it didn't matter to us, but they should not discriminate because we paid a lower rate). The swimming pool is the best part of the hotel as well as the rooms themselves. We also enjoyed the free Yoga class in the morning. Overall, I would go back and stay at this hotel again when I am in Chiang Mai. I just hope due to the location, there are better transportation options that can be arranged by the hotel at reasonable prices.

Beautifu Resort - but needs to do more for price”
Really enjoyable, great staff, beautiful location, room & service but few niggles that need to be addressed to compete with other 5* venues in area. 1) Rooms are beautiful, nicely finished but no pool towels for your private pool. Mini bar is a bit sparse and over priced. 2) the main pool complex & restaurant is stunning and service was excellent. But closes at 7, last orders 530/6. You are then forced to go to the main restaurant area which is not great. They had a big buffet on the night we were there, but fortunately we managed to get their a la carte menu which was excellent. But this area pales in comparison to the facility they have at the main pool area. 3) Wine & Liquor is over priced for what it is, beers etc are reasonable. But again if you spend 2+ days you should bring your own. Great babysitting & kids club service but the place is full of perilous drops and edges so you will have your nerves rattled chasing little toddlers around the pools and gardens!! Overall would recommend this resort as a nice spot outside the bustle of Chiang Mai.

Amazing stay”
I highly recommend this hotel for couples. it is about 25 mns away from the city center but it is really worth it to stay at Veranda. There are free shuttle buses daily if you wish to go at night to the city ( night market etc). The hotel is truly beautiful , the room are great, super clean and the staff is really nice and helpful. The food at the restaurant is good and very good price value. The infinity pool is amazing if you wnat to stay in the resort to relax for the day. I will definately come back next time.

Superb design hotel with the great service”
We have heard about this hotel that it has received an award for good design. So we decide to give a try! And we never regret. The hotel is situated among the hill valley, but only 20 mins drive from the airport (we rent the car at the airport). The room was very new and spacious with the wonderful balcony. The service was excellent. As the location is not so far from the city, we can easily brought our daughter to Chiang Mai Night Safari on one night. It took only 10 mins from the hotel. We just recommend this hotel to our friend who will come to Thailand during Feb.
